"... This is a bright 3.5 inch LCD display that's high resolution. It charges with the USBc. It connects with your TV with a dock over HDMI and it plays a bunch of games, but specifically Game Boy games, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and with adapters Sega Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, and Atari Lynx. It doesn't play DS games, just letting you know.
...it's really fun to revisit and if you're a collector and you love the idea of getting these games I don't think there is a nicer dedicated piece of hardware right now that can play classic Game Boy games like the Analogue Pocket does. I mean it's a real love letter to the hardware."

This plays actual cartridges from a variety of systems (adapters sold separately) and not ROMS. Being able to play on your TV is nice, and it even has the Game Boy Link cable port. Eventually is will have a game save option (via update) too. Looks good!
That looks awesome. I’m lucky in that my Game Boys (Color and Advance) have survived all these years thanks to barely being used.
Before the internet, in the old old days of the 1990’s (-joke-), my parents bought my brother and I each a Game Boy Color for long car rides to shut us up. I had a Walkman that I adored and had fixed by my dad more times than I can count, along with the headphones, but anyway...
This little thing looks awesome.
This doesn’t play those, but my Sega Nomad (portable Genesis) stopped working after not being used for years. I found a place that fixes them. It’s usually the solder on a specific spot. Ugh.
On the video item...I didn’t see or hear a cost, but as he said they aren’t readily available yet it doesn’t matter I guess.
My kids still use all my old gameboys daily. I still love super mario and yoshi.
MyOldBoy is a great application to download on your phone. Emulates all sorts of Gameboy systems, then you just find whatever ROMs you want to play. Works great for most games, though super Mario is difficult cause you can’t roll your thumb between buttons for effective running jumps and stuff.
I’m not opposed to ‘ROMs’ and I do have some for various systems, but it is nice to know those of us with physical cartridges can still use them even if our original hardware breaks.
And I would think the controls would be a problem for some games emulated on a phone or tablet. Personally, I don’t game on either of mine (although I know I could).
Yea, for sure. Don’t have any of my old stuff, gave it all to my younger siblings when I went to college, so no clue where it might be now. So emulator/ROMs is about all I have, since it’s too expensive / difficult to find all the old stuff, in still good condition..
