Author’s Note: Interested readers can find all previous volumes of this series here. News Flash: The first 56 volumes are compiled into a book titled “Bible Study For Those Who Don’t Read The Bible.” More details at the end. Now back to our regular programming. Thanks for joining us! We begin our study about dogs in the Bible with a famous quote from President Harry Truman: “You want a friend in Washington? Get a dog.”However, in Scripture, our furry, four-legged friends were physically and symbolically associated with everything unholy, unclean, wild, and sinful. Dogs in ancient times were feared scavengers,...

Preston Sturges was one of Hollywood's most successful screenwriters when Easy Living was released in 1937, and even if he didn't direct the picture – in spite of his constant pleas to be allowed to make his own film – it has the makings of a Sturges movie from the first pratfall, which would be Edward Arnold's tumble down the staircase of his mansion. Arnold plays J.B. Ball – the third-richest banker in America, the "Bull of Broad Street" – but he's the sort of millionaire who commands no respect from his staff, his wife or his son: a perfect...

HILL.TV SENATE October 10, 2021 - 06:00 AM EDT Most Senate Republicans don't want to see Trump run again Most Senate Republicans don't want to see Trump run again BY ALEXANDER BOLTON6 TWEET SHARE MORE Senate Republicans, with a few exceptions, are hoping that former President Trump does not announce his intention to run again for president. These GOP senators definitely don’t want to see Trump announce a bid before the 2022 midterm elections, fearing that could sink their hopes of winning back the Senate. More broadly, they’re generally reluctant to see him on the ballot in 2024 at all...

The great threat to America is not the COVID-19 virus, but those manipulating facts to control others. Vermont’s RINO Governor has been hailed as having “saved” the state from the scourge of COVID by “leading the nation” in high vaccination rates, but now the boondoggle of bunk COVID science is home to roost in the Green Mountains -- the state has the highest rate of infection nationally. The layers of COVID fog are starting to clear, as reality eclipses the fantastic lies of the government and medical establishment. Initially, Americans were told that natural immunity from COVID-19 was “unlikely” for...

The leftist city’s experiment with trimming back law enforcement is about to go into overdrive. Seattle, more than many American cities, vigorously embraced the “Defund the Police” movement. Last year, the Seattle City Council began the process of defunding the police and it’s been continuing ever since, relentlessly slicing away at the city’s police budget. Crime has risen accordingly and people are making noises about getting the police back. However, the radicals have a new arrow in their quiver to reduce the number of police in their city. An October 18 deadline is looming to fire those police who have...

It's easy to feel at war with the rabid and howling vaxxers, but we aren't really in a conflict with them. If you take a minute to try and get into their heads -- walk a mile in their shoes so to speak -- and are successful, what you immediately divine is that it's not hate or anger that primarily motives their tyrannical mandate-mania and endless Wuhan Plague hysterics. These are nothing more than people who are scared of dying or losing someone close to them. As intended by the fear-mongers and marketing departments of vaccine manufacturers, an honest belief...

It's easy to feel at war with the rabid and howling vaxxers, but it is better to take advice from Sun Tzu on dealing with them. To many observers, our Southern border policy is wrong-headed, our Afghanistan withdrawal was a fiasco, and the Democrat party’s $3.5 trillion, 2500-page budget "reconciliation" is egregiously unwise as well as too long and obscure. Nick Miroff reported in the Texas Tribune that one frustrated ICE official said that “they are abolishing ICE without abolishing ICE.” Further, the statements of our top generals and of the president are riddled with lies and evasions about Afghanistan. The generals all said to Congress that their memoranda recommended that 2,500 soldiers be left in Afghanistan as we transitioned out, but none would say that...

Donald Trump failed at business…a lot. USFL, Tour de Trump, Trump Resorts, Trump Airlines, Trump University, etc. Leftists love to point that out. But that’s not the whole story. Trump had great successes as well. Not only has he developed world-class properties around the globe, but he was also produced and starred in one of the most popular television shows for more than a decade. Most telling of all was his renovation of the Wolman Ice Rink. New York City had spent $13 million and six years trying to renovate the Central Park icon when, in 1986, NYC admitted it...

Taiwan’s president on Sunday vowed to defend the island from China’s rising pressure for reunification, after a week of unprecedented tensions with Beijing. Speaking at the island’s National Day celebrations, a rare show of Taiwanese defense capabilities in the annual parade underlined Tsai Ing-wen’s promise to resist Chinese military threats. “We will do our utmost to prevent the status quo from being unilaterally altered,” President Tsai said. “We will continue to bolster our national defense and demonstrate our determination to defend ourselves in order to ensure that nobody can force Taiwan to take the path China has laid out for...

There’s scarcely a place in the modern world which will not be feeling the high cost and discomfort of a shortage of energy supplies and their increasingly soaring prices. Lebanon already is. Due to a shortage of oil, the two power plants that supply 40% of that country’s electricity shut down. There is no electricity in Lebanon and will not be any for some days. It’s an extreme case, but even the United Kingdom, the EU, the U.S., and China are running up against diminishing ability to obtain the necessary energy supplies to keep things running smoothly. Some of the...

On Sep. 30, King County Elections formally certified a petition seeking to recall Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant. The recall election has been scheduled for Dec. 7 and will decide whether Sawant remains in office. According to state law, an election must be held within 45 to 90 days after a petition is certified. The petition to recall Sawant accuses her of various offenses, including misusing resources of the city to promote a “Tax Amazon” ballot initiative. In June last year, Sawant let Black Lives Matter (BLM) protestors into Seattle City Hall when the building was closed due to COVID-19....

Hawthorne: A man died after he tried to hit people on a sidewalk with his truck, crashed against a building and then was pulled out and beaten by the group in Southern California, authorities said. The man was asked to leave a business in Hawthorne early Saturday and then argued with someone while walking to his truck, said Lt. Hugo Reynaga of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The man then intentionally drove the truck onto the sidewalk, nearly hitting a group of patrons before his truck wedged against a tree, the Daily Breeze reported. As the patrons tried to...

At least 34,000 home health workers in New York appear to have missed a deadline to get vaccinated under a new state mandate, according to preliminary state data, rendering them unable to work and deepening a shortage of home health aides. At the same time, the vaccination rate among home health workers as the deadline arrived on Thursday - 86 percent - exceeded the expectations of some union and industry leaders, and suggested that thousands of workers decided to get their first shot at the last minute to stay employed. Some industry leaders had predicted that as few as 70...

California will outlaw the sale of new gas-powered lawnmowers, leaf blowers and chainsaws as early as 2024 under a new law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday. The law requires all newly sold small-motor equipment primarily used for landscaping to be zero-emissions — essentially to be battery operated or plug-in - by that target date or as soon as the California Air Resources Board determined it is feasible. New portable gas-powered generators also must be zero-emissions by 2028, which also could be delayed at the discretion of the state agency. Machinery with so-called small off-road engines also includes chainsaws,...
