Crime in Democrat-run New York City rose during the month of September as Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) is reportedly in the early stages of assembling a gubernatorial campaign. Stark data released by the NYPD Wednesday shows crime rose 2.6 percent overall in September 2021 compared to the same month in 2020, with an extra 243 incidents reported. The biggest increase was for felonious assault – or assault with a dangerous weapon – which surged by a shocking 18.5 percent from 1,802 in September 2020 to 2,135 in September 2021, as New Yorkers have been plagued by random attacks in...

Let’s look at the People’s Liberation Army. The whole lot of them, army, navy, air force, rocket force and the auxiliary navy. The last are civilian registered ships, operated by navy personnel under military command disguised as fishing trawlers. Yes, the PLA is a powerful force on first glance. However, first looks are deceiving. What they lack is combat experience. They have no veterans. None whatsoever...The current price for three stars (lieutenant general) is 2.5 million dollars. Any Chinese with the right connections and at least that amount of money can become a general. That kind of corruption seeps through...

Virginia's gubernatorial race between former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin is in a dead heat, according to a new poll conducted by Emerson College and Nexstar Media Group. McAuliffe led with 49 percent of likely Virginia voters, while Youngkin was behind at just 48 percent, according to the poll. One percent of voters said they planned to vote for someone else, while 2 percent said they were undecided. The latest poll showed a much narrower race compared to a poll of the race released last month that showed McAuliffe leading 49 percent to 45 percent. However, the...

Ron DeSantis has come in for plenty of criticism at CNN's New Day. But none of it has exhibited the visceral disdain that the show has heaped on another potential 2024 Republican contender—Nikki Haley. As we noted here and here, New Day's basic beef with Haley is that she is a "flip-flopper," a "weathervane," twisting with the political winds. New Day broke out a new epithet for Haley this morning, branding her a "pinball machine." New Day devoted an unusually long segment—a good 10 minutes—to nuking Nikki today. Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

The suicide bomber who killed 13 U.S. military members and dozens of other people outside the Kabul airport in August was released from the Bagram Air Base prison just days earlier, according to a new report. “We now understand … that Abdul Rehman Al-Loghri, the terrorist who from ISIS-K was responsible for killing 13 American service members and dozens of Afghans civilians trying to get out of the country, that he had been held at Parwan prison in Bagram Air Base,” CNN’s Clarissa Ward reported Wednesday. “When the Taliban took power on that Sunday, the first thing they did before...

You know they hate this man speaking without help…. But with media 95% behind him (he would have 3-4 impeachments already if he were Trump) he can be as ridiculous as he wants. He can be a total Dementia patient (and he is now close obviously) The media has his back. Hell, if Republicans don’t get off their rears and do audits in some more states, the Deep State can easily make him win with 90% of the vote this next election, even if there are only 15% still supporting him in reality. Don’t doubt it, the Left is desperate...

Back in the mid-70s, I decided to give law school a try. After doing pretty well on the LSAT, I applied to and was accepted by Duke. So I went there, studied hard enough to pass every course I took, learned some useful things that I still remember (such as the fundamentals of contract law), and graduated with my JD in hand. No doubt the most important thing I learned while in law school, however, was that the legal profession wasn’t for me. I realized that I’d be a round peg in a world of square holes, so I didn’t...

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday handed the Biden administration a stunning defeat with regard to construction on former President Donald Trump’s border wall, which currently sits incomplete as illegal immigrants continue to flood across the open border. The country’s high court ordered lower courts to vacate previous rulings about the wall, citing “changed circumstances” in the case. Environmental activists, activist judges, Democrats in Congress and private law organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union have of course opposed the wall since before concrete was ever poured. [snip] On appeal, the Ninth Circuit agreed with the lower court ruling...

BRUSSELS (AP) — The European Union on Wednesday urged member countries to provide relief funds to consumers and small businesses hit hardest by rising gas and electricity prices, as criticism mounts that the bloc’s climate change fighting policies are fueling the problem. In recent days, France and Spain have led the charge for change to the rules governing EU energy markets as the price surge ramps up already-high utility bills and increases pressure on many people already hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. Energy prices in Spain have reached all-time highs since the summer. The cost of electricity is set...

President Biden on Wednesday resorted to histrionics, saying that a “meteor” could crash into the US economy if Congress doesn’t raise the government’s debt ceiling — even as Republicans noted that Democrats can simply lift the spending cap on their own. Biden insisted Republicans could cause the US to default on its debt after an Oct. 18 deadline as he attempted to undercut conservative pressure on Democrats to own the vote as they push for trillions in new spending. “The United States is the financial rock the world looks to and trusts. Now in one cynical destructive partisan ploy —...

President Biden’s standing among Americans keeps sinking, according to new national poll. The president’s approval rating stands at just 38%, with disapproval at 53% in a Quinnipiac University survey released on Wednesday. That’s down from a 42%-50% approval/disapproval rating for Biden in a survey Quinnipiac University conducted last month. The president received negative scores in the double digits on all but one key issue asked in the new poll, which was conducted Oct. 1-4. And a majority of those surveyed said the Biden administration is not competent in running the federal government.

Like love of oneself and family, love of country is a natural emotion. From a rational standpoint, what is not to like and love about the greatest force for good in world history? I find pride in American citizenship. I am not the subject of a king, nor a slave in an islamic or authoritarian hell-hole, nor a proletarian ruled through fear by communist party thugs. To be a citizen is to be equal before law of our own making, not through direct democracy, but by representatives, our agents who craft law on our behalf. We the People are still...

'We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights.' ARTICLE I: You do not have...

WARREN, Mich. (AP) — General Motors plans to cash in as the world switches from combustion engines to battery power, promising to double its annual revenue by 2030 with an array of new electric vehicles, profitable gas-powered cars and trucks, and services such as an electronic driving system that can handle most tasks on the road. In announcements Wednesday ahead of a two-day investor event in suburban Detroit, the company also pledged to unseat Tesla and become the electric vehicle market share leader in U.S., although no time frame was given. The company also teased upcoming new electric vehicles including...
