The stolen election myth inspired thousands of Trump supporters to take over the Republican Party at the local level, exerting more partisan influence on how elections are run. One of the loudest voices urging Donald Trump’s supporters to push for overturning the presidential election results was Steve Bannon. “We’re on the point of attack,” Bannon, a former Trump adviser and far-right nationalist, pledged on his popular podcast on Jan. 5. “All hell will break loose tomorrow.” The next morning, as thousands massed on the National Mall for a rally that turned into an attack on the Capitol, Bannon fired up...

The US supreme court voted 5-4 to allow a Texas law banning most abortions to remain in force. The law prohibits abortions once medical professionals can detect cardiac activity, usually around six weeks and before most women know they’re pregnant. Nine people share their reaction to the ruling and what they think it means for women’s rights.

The pedestrian has been mocked for his acting skills after footage caught him weakly rolling over the van as it pulled out from a side street. Video shows him calmly strolling down the road in Castlederg, Northern Ireland. Footage shows a man rolling over a bonnet in an apparent scamBut the van appears to startle him as it slowly emerges from a side road - causing the man to put a hand out to stop...

A Taliban spokesperson insisted to Fox News on Friday that "there will be no issue about women’s rights" following the militant group’s takeover of Afghanistan, despite widespread international concerns. But Suhail Shaheen also said he opposes Western views that "women should have an education without [a] hijab." "That is a change of culture," he said. "Our culture...they can receive education with hijab. They can work with hijab." When asked about future relations with the U.S., Shaheen said, "We should be focusing how can we work together in a positive and constructive way which is in the best of interest of...

Williamsport, Pa. — A Williamsport Police officer said he was kicked on his right hand and inner portion of his elbow when attempting to take a woman into custody. Officer Clint Gardner said he observed a black Nissan Altima parked at the Turkey Hill along Washington Blvd. in Williamsport on August 31. Gardner witnessed a man and woman leave the vehicle and enter the store. Gardner wrote in an affidavit, “I immediately detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. I observed in plain view a marijuana joint and marijuana flakes in the vehicle.” According to the report, Gardner...

What can we say about the harms masks do to children? Is there any evidence that could inform parents about dangers of these masks, whose ineffectiveness we have established in Part 1? We wish to raise some key issues. During April to October 2020 in the U.S., emergency room visits linked to mental health problems (e.g., anxiety) for children aged 5-11 increased by nearly 25% and increased by 31% for those aged 12-17 years old as compared to the same period in 2019. During the month of June 2020, 25% of persons aged 18 to 24 in the U.S. reported...

The question on whether to wear a face mask or not during the COVID-19 pandemic remains vexing, emotional and highly contentious. This question about the utility of a face covering (which has taken on a talisman-like life) is now fraught with steep politicization regardless of political affiliation (e.g., Republican or liberal/Democrat). Importantly, the evidence was never there to support mask use for asymptomatic people to stop viral spread during a pandemic. While the evidence may seem conflicted, the research (including the peer-reviewed studies) actually does not support their use and leans heavily toward masks having no significant impact in stopping...

American papers are filled with pundits speculating about the horrors the Taliban may inflict on the people of Afghanistan, particularly its women. Less attention has been paid to the horrors Texas Republicans — the Taliban wing of the Republican Party — are inflicting on the State of Texas. In total control of the state, Republicans have a free hand that they’ve used to enforce extremism. Dubbing them the Texas Taliban isn’t just name-calling. The parallels are chilling. The Taliban scorn democracy. They see their opponents as heretics and heathens. The Taliban are bigots, rejecting people of other religions. The Taliban...

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The intensive care rooms at St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center are full, each a blinking jungle of tubes, wires and mechanical breathing machines. The patients nestled inside are a lot alike: All unvaccinated, mostly middle-aged or younger, reliant on life support and locked in a silent struggle against COVID-19. But watch for a moment, and glimpses of who they were before the coronavirus become clear. Artfully inked tattoos cover the tanned forearm of a man in his 30s. An expectant mother’s slightly swollen belly is briefly revealed as a nurse adjusts her position. The young woman...

Rick Wiles, a non-denominational senior pastor at Flowing Streams Church in Vero Beach, Florida with a popular online news site called TruNews, is known for promoting racist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Despite (or perhaps due to) Wiles’ rabidly anti-Semitic statements, Trunews has over 100,000 followers on Facebook. Wiles has a history of blatant anti-Semitism and was called out for it yet again by Dexter Van Zile of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA).

When Joe Biden was running for president, he promised to close a squalid border tent camp in Mexico where thousands of migrants had been left to await the outcome of their immigration cases by the Trump administration. Last spring, Biden emptied the camp, allowing most of the migrants to claim asylum and enter the U.S. even as his administration continued enforcing a Trump pandemic policy that effectively barred most other asylum seekers. Soon after the Matamoros camp was bulldozed last March, a new camp formed about 55 miles west across from the border bridge to the more dangerous, Gulf crime...

We have seen since the beginning of the social and sexual revolution here in America that the American man has been made base, feminine, and weak by the subtle charms of the lawless intellect, licentious behavior, dominating spirit and position in the new social order of our post-Judeo/Christian culture. Satan’s hand is all over this. Tragically with this rise of the godless woman and the promotion of secular feminism here in America, there has come a ravishing price tag for this delusional “liberation”. The American woman of today is plagued and oppressed with compounding guilt, personal unfulfillment, sex, drug, and...

Her actions became the basis for the global FinCEN Files investigation. They also described her disclosures as “unparalleled in FinCEN’s history,” having sent approximately 50,000 documents, including 2,000 SARs, to Leopold over the course of a year and running searches within internal systems at his request.
