The question on whether to wear a face mask or not during the COVID-19 pandemic remains vexing, emotional and highly contentious. This question about the utility of a face covering (which has taken on a talisman-like life) is now fraught with steep politicization regardless of political affiliation (e.g., Republican or liberal/Democrat).
Importantly, the evidence was never there to support mask use for asymptomatic people to stop viral spread during a pandemic. While the evidence may seem conflicted, the research (including the peer-reviewed studies) actually does not support their use and leans heavily toward masks having no significant impact in stopping spread of the COVID virus. That's right, the blue surgical face masks and the white cloth masks are utterly useless!
In fact, it is not unreasonable at this time to conclude that surgical and cloth masks, used as they currently are, have absolutely no impact on controlling the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and current evidence implies that face masks actually can be harmful – especially as currently used and without other PPE type equipment. This conclusion is comprehensively documented by Dr. Roger W. Koops in a recent American Institute of Economic Research (AIER) publication. He state that there is no clear scientific evidence that masks (surgical or cloth) work to mitigate risk to the wearer or to those coming into contact with the wearer, as they are currently worn in everyday life and specifically as we refer to COVID-19.

I have to ask. Why do i need to be impressed w/someone with an MBA?
Because they said so. That’s the only reason I can figure out, especially as I get older and meet more of them.
Yeah, I know what you mean. LOL! In a lot of cases, why should I be impressed with someone with a PhD? I’ve known some real doozies in my day. Kind of makes one wonder why they wasted their money. But, sheepskins mean bigger bux.
Only if they’re successful with grants. ;-)
Face masks are like those stupid and and dangerous air bags in cars. Both are examples of government overreach, incompetence, and unaccountability.
The air-bag thing is a flatly unconstitutional, and thus, illegal, act by the feds. The mask thing defies state constitutions across the nation and, thus, are also illegal.
As Blackstone said, unjust laws are no laws at all and should be disobeyed. Disobeying and ignoring unjust and invalid laws are acts of patriotism, just liberty, and the rule of law against the tyranny of man.
Well, the government does what it will in cases like this. Sorry, your vehicles can’t be certified. Fire inspections of facilities. Health inspections. Licensing issues. OSHA violations. Same thing they’re going to do to enforce CONvid papers. Make business nearly impossible unless businesses demand your cert. “Oh. Sorry we found some cockroaches in your deep fryer.” We know how this works.
An·os·mi·a /aˈnäzmēə,aˈnäsmēə/:
is the loss of the sense of smell, either total or partial. It may be caused by head injury, infection, or blockage of the nose.
How much Covid an·os·mi·a ,do, we suffer from the moment we have to wear a mask to when we finally take the mask off, and not even being infected with Covid 19?
How is Covid an·os·mi·a do, negatively impacting our children from pre school through college due to having to wear masks and not even being infected with Covid 19?
How is Covid an·os·mi·a do, negatively impacting adults, who have to wear a mask during work and maybe commuting and not even being infected with Covid 19?
Is Covid an·os·mi·a do reverse able after wearing a mask for a long time?
How long does it take to be normal re sense of smell after Covid 19 mask does not own your body/nose/sense of smell?

Forbes just memory-holed an article it published by a child trauma expert warning of the alleged risks of school mask mandates

A few weeks ago Forbes published an article by teacher and Columbia University Ph.D student Zack Ringelstein, warning about the harms of mask mandates for kids:
“Masks and social distancing induce trauma and trauma at a young age is developmentally dangerous, especially for children who are experiencing trauma in other parts of their lives.”
In the essay, Ringelstein also argued that “children in masks who are socially distanced are more likely to lead a sedentary lifestyle at school and home, and therefore are also more likely to become both obese and depressed” and that “children in masks are also likely to miss out on critical language development, another fundamental area of growth in early years.”
It was a bracing article, notable for its unvarnished assertions about school mask mandates at a time when questioning those mandates is professionally and personally risky.
It would appear that Forbes belatedly decided the same thing, because as of Wednesday, the article is... gone.

Folks, face masks are clearly intended for professionals, they are way too complicated for an average person to manage. While health professionals can wear them all day, the simple minded risk brain damage, anxiety, depression and whole list of side effects within minutes of putting one on. Just say no to committing suicide by wearing a mask.
Well your example mixes local governance with federal/national governance. Also mixes general government acts with government directly interfering with and directed at individuals.
Nothing wrong with things like local fire inspections and the like. But everything wrong with unconstitutional acts directed at individuals, violating their constitutionally protected rights to life, liberty, and free pursuits.
Local governance is generally not limited by the Constitution and is guided by the people of that locality.
But the feds were created and absolutely limited by the U.S. Constitution which the feds have long ignored and is the main reason America teeters on extinction.
The answer is for Patriots to quit accepting tyranny and doing whatever it takes to take down the tyranny of the mostly unconstitutional federal government and the unconstitutional state dictatorships being exercised these days.
Well, you could read the article, and then shred it with your genius level intellect...
