It would perhaps be around this time in 1863 that a Southern planter is arrayed for hanging in An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge This “greatest American short story … a flawless example of American genius” (according to Kurt Vonnegut) was 1890 product of puissant wordsmith Ambrose Bierce. In this non-chronological story, Peyton Farquhar, “a well to do planter, of an old and highly respected Alabama family,” is entrapped by a Union spy purporting to be a Confederate agent to attempt an act of sabotage in the face of a hanging warning issued by the Union army. It can be...

American forces have completely left Afghanistan and now the entire capital, including Kabul Airport, is controlled by the Taliban. In the last 20 years, America had tried to prepare a new generation through its education system in Afghanistan. For this purpose, the American University was established in the capital Kabul in which Western education was given. There was a craze for this university among the students and students of Afghanistan. But now after leaving America, the students of this university and especially the girls are feeling threatened by themselves. A BBC journalist has claimed in a tweet that the Taliban...

Jaguars coach Urban Meyer said he and general manager Trent Baalke took a player's vaccination status into consideration during final roster cuts. Meyer said Tuesday that it was considered because of the more stringent COVID-19 protocols imposed on unvaccinated players who test positive or are identified as high-risk close contacts as compared with the protocols for vaccinated players."Everyone was considered," Meyer said. "That was part of the [considerations such as] production, let's start talking about this, and also is he vaccinated or not? Can I say that that was a decision-maker? It was certainly in consideration." Meyer's comments did not...

Myself and Mrs. Flush live in South Sacramento near the Executive Airport. Civilian aviation and the occaisional vintage warbird are common sights and sounds for us. The air traffic lines up from the southeast for the main runway and we're quite used to it. At about 8:20 this evening we heard the distinctive sound of a V-22 Osprey traveling at a moderate speed at low altitude in a southerly direction. No kidding, it rattled the house! I've checked everywhere online and cannot find anything to show an aircraft flying across this airspace. The closest active air bases are Travis and...

The S1 was successfully delivered along with a few other assorted goodies. Well, it’s really more like part of a robot, or a robot arm to be precise. If you’re imagining a full-on humanoid robot, you might be disappointed. NASA says that in a recent demonstration, “the robot [conducted] common crew activities and tasks via supervised autonomy and teleoperations from the ground.” Not only that, but NASA also says that robot “labor could reduce the cost of spacecraft operations and improve safety by taking on tasks that could expose crew members to hazardous risks.” The smart, mechanical arm is made...

Hochul announced late Tuesday that she’s summoning legislators for a rare special session to extend New York’s expiring eviction moratorium and allocate more financial relief for renters in a bid to stave off an avalanche of evictions at a time when the coronavirus is resurging in the state. The special session, set for noon Wednesday in both the state Senate and Assembly, will feature two legislative items to counteract the feared “eviction crisis,” Hochul said from the Capitol in Albany. First,...

A torrent of political groups representing some of the country’s most influential corporations — including ExxonMobil, Pfizer and the Walt Disney Company — are laying the groundwork for a lobbying blitz to stop Congress from enacting significant swaths of President Biden’s $3.5 trillion economic agenda. The emerging opposition appears to be vast, spanning drug manufacturers, big banks, tech titans, major retailers and oil-and-gas giants. In recent weeks, top Washington organizations representing these and other industries have started strategizing behind the scenes, seeking to scuttle key elements in Democrats’ proposed overhaul to federal health care, education and safety net programs. Among...

Solar panels are an increasingly important source of renewable power that will play an essential role in fighting climate change. They are also complex pieces of technology that become big, bulky sheets of electronic waste at the end of their lives—and right now, most of the world doesn’t have a plan for dealing with that. But we’ll need to develop one soon, because the solar e-waste glut is coming. By 2050, the International Renewable Energy Agency projects that up to 78 million metric tons of solar panels will have reached the end of their life, and that the world will...

The corporate press and the globalist machine is already trying to whitewash what just happened in Central Asia and shift accountability to the backs of our uniformed military personnel who were on the ground. We cannot let this stand. Those responsible need to be shamed forever, and it starts with Joe Biden. Former Special Ops Commander and author of the just released book based on his military experiences ‘The Common Sense Way’ Pete Blaber yesterday laid out the timeline of what actually happened in Afghanistan. Also below is Blaber’s timeline from the perspective of those on the ground in-country for...
