The White House and a top U.S. health agency are not saying whether they’re considering a change to masking guidance amid an increase in COVID-19 cases across the country. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director, twice declined to say whether the agency was mulling a change. As of now, the recommendations are the same, she told reporters in a virtual briefing on Thursday. “We are always looking at the data as the data come in,” Walensky said. Jeffrey Zients, the White House’s COVID-19 coordinator, also deflected a question on whether masking guidance will change,...

House Democrats blocked consideration of legislation that would require the U.S. Director of National Intelligence to declassify information and data related to the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and that namely targeted what role the Wuhan Institute of Virology played in the outbreak. In May, the Senate Republican-backed COVID-19 Origin Act was passed unanimously in the Senate. Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) brought the Senate bill to the House floor on Tuesday night before Democrats voted it down. “The best disinfectant is sunlight and that’s what we can provide today,” Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), who helped bring the bill to the...

WTH was this? After his embarrassing town hall event last night in Cincinnati where he lost himself in mindless word salad after mindless word salad, Joe Biden was asked about Democrats defunding the police. Crazy Joe snapped back at the reporter, “Are there people in the Republican Party who think we’re sucking the blood out of kids?” Has this ever happened? Even once?

Claim: “Here’s the deal. Moody’s today went out—Wall Street firm, not some liberal think tank—said if we pass the other two things I’m trying to get done we will in fact reduce inflation. Reduce inflation. Reduce inflation,” Joe Biden said of his $4 trillion of proposed spending at a live CNN town hall Wednesday night. Verdict: False. The Moody’s report, put together by a Democrat economist, did not say Biden’s plan would reduce inflation.

For many years, Berkeley bike advocates have pushed for their own lane on a two-block stretch of Fulton Street. The conditions seem ripe for one. It would connect two existing bike lanes in a bustling area between UC Berkeley and downtown. Bike racks already line the sidewalk. But when asked, the city delivered an answer the advocates say they have heard time and again: The bike lane couldn’t go in because of the state’s premier environmental law. The California Environmental Quality Act, known as CEQA, has stymied bike lanes up and down the state for more than a decade. Los...

Arkansas Democratic lawmakers are urging their GOP counterparts to end the state’s ban on mask mandates, The Associated Press reported on Thursday. In a letter to Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R), Democratic lawmakers asked the governor to call for a special legislative session on the issue of the mask mandate ban. The lawmakers mentioned how the state’s healthcare workers are struggling with the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, adding that there’s no need to "pile on."

Q is the result of the sacrifices and commitment of countless patriots to win back our captured country from the Deep State and achieve the transformation President Trump promised in this campaign video. President Trump has said the awakening of the public is key to this transformation.Q describes this awakening as follows: "The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought’), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding 'mind’ control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of ‘group-think’), but,...

President Barack Obama's 2012 re-election campaign will be the first in modern political history to abandon white working-class voters, strategists claim. For decades, Democrats have been losing more and more blue collar whites. Their alienation helped lead to the massive Republican wave in 2010, when the GOP wooed 30 percent more of them than the Democrats could. Democratic strategists say President Obama is focusing his attention, instead, on poor black and Hispanic voters and educated white professionals. 'All pretense of trying to win a majority of the white working class has been effectively jettisoned in favor of cementing a center-left...

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) says that Floridians should get the vaccine to protect against the coronavirus. DeSantis told reporters in a press conference Wednesday that 95% of hospital admissions in Florida due to coronavirus complications were not either fully vaccinated or vaccinated at all, stating that “[T]hese vaccines are saving lives. They are reducing mortality.” DeSantis also said that vaccinated people will not be hit with the current COVID-19 wave in Florida.

Gov. Tom Wolf has been clear: No changing Pennsylvania’s voter ID rules. Any election legislation with new ID requirements is a nonstarter, he and his office said repeatedly as Republican state lawmakers proposed and passed an election overhaul that he vetoed last month. But in a shift, Wolf now says he’s open to some stricter ID rules, including requiring ID for mail voting. The reason he previously drew a red line, he said, is because he didn’t trust that Republicans would negotiate in good faith and believed they were only interested in voter suppression. “I’m sure out there is a...

The NFL has notified clubs that if there’s a COVID outbreak among unvaccinated players, teams who can’t reschedule during the 18-week season will forfeit the match, be credited with a loss, and potentially incur financial liability and discipline from the commissioner. According to the NFL Network‘s Tom Pelissero, the league intends to play its entire 272-game schedule over 18 weeks, and ‘does not anticipate adding a ’19th week’ to accommodate games that cannot be rescheduled within the current 18 weeks of the regular season.”

Forty percent of all new cases this week have been recorded in Florida, Texas and Missouri, White House pandemic response coordinator Jeff Zients revealed at a press briefingThursday. Florida alone accounts for 20 percent of all new cases nationally, Zients pointed out, a trend that has stretched into its second week. Zients added that “virtually all” hospitalizations and deaths — a full 97 percent — are among unvaccinated people. “The threat is now predominantly only to the unvaccinated,” he said. A few vaccinated people do experience so-called breakthrough infections, but they tend to experience only mild COVID-19 illness, or no...

On Tuesday, a wicked cold snap, with temperatures dropping below zero, delivered a massive blow to farmers across Brazil’s coffee belt, damaging trees and destroying next year’s crop, according to Reuters. Temperatures in Brazil’s coffee-growing regions recorded -1.2 Celsius (29 Fahrenheit) on Tuesday in southern Minas Gerais, which was the coldest since 1994. “I’ve never seen something like that. We knew it would be cold, we were monitoring, but temperatures suddenly went several degrees down when it was already early morning,” said Mario Alvarenga, a coffee producer with two farms in Minas Gerais, Brazil’s largest producing state. A #coffee farm...
