In 1995, 2% of schizophrenia diagnoses in the country were associated with cannabis use disorder. In 2000, it increased to around 4%. Since 2010, that figure increased to 8%, the study found.
"I think it is highly important to use both our study and other studies to highlight and emphasize that cannabis use is not harmless," said Carsten Hjorthøj, an associate professor at the Copenhagen Research Center for Mental Health and an author of the study published in the medical journal JAMA Psychiatry, via email.

Of course, this is true. I’ve seen this among the stoners I know in San Francisco for decades.
The truth is that we’re going to be looking at an epidemic of schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders as this younger generation is raised on legal, high-octane weed... that the media and political establishment has told them is about as dangerous as eating an ice cream cone.

This goes a long way toward explaining today’s Democrats.

With lower THC, folks just take more hits. From what I have observed in the many places I have lived over the years is that there is a higher number of users using weed all day, every day. Even users who have nowhere to go in the morning get up at 5 AM to get their first dose. In the last two neighborhoods I’ve lived in, around 5 AM the entire section of the city around me is engulfed in marijuana fumes.
One of my friends went mad after smoking a lot of this stuff. He was convinced people were trying to kill him and eventually the company he worked for put him on permanent disability.
IMHO when libertarians support weed like it's their religion with no basis in reality and make it their #1 cause, it makes those of us libertarians as a whole look like idiots and undermines our general message of getting the government off our backs.
Very tragic. I was seeing a lady for a while who developed schizophrenia after starting marijuana. She was in enough remission when I met her that her condition was manageable by medicine and never returning to weed use. Then she spontaneously got worse and her paranoia unfortunately included me no matter what I did. Had to leave her alone. It was a shame. Very beautiful and talented lady.
