In 1948, the armies of seven Arab nations invaded Israel. They failed to wipe out the newly reborn nation, but Jordan occupied part of Jerusalem and ethnically cleansed its Jews. Among the former Jewish neighborhoods was a small area named Shimon HaTzadik or Simon the Righteous after a high priest who became famous for talking Alexander the Great out of putting up an idol in the Temple. The Arab Muslim colonists who had occupied the area however called it Sheikh Jarrah after an associate of the Iraqi invader Saladin. Saladin had invaded Israel some 1500 years after Shimon HaTzadik’s death....

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand wants to make another run for the White House, she said in a report published Thursday. “I definitely want to run for president again,” the New York Democrat told Politico. Gillibrand, 54, was one of a crowded field of Democrats who were looking for the party’s nod to run against President Donald Trump in 2020. “I learned so much on that campaign: about myself, about the country, about how to be successful as a politician,” she added.

On May 8th, 2021, over 30,000 Virginia Republican voters participated in an “unassembled convention” at various statewide locations to elect the 2021 Republican ticket. Using weighted, ranked choice voting (RCV)—where the lowest vote getter is eliminated each round until a winner clinches over 50 percent—voters selected nominees for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General: Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Sears, and Jason Miyares, respectively. Although Virginia trends blue nationally, could this year’s statewide election be a bellwether going into 2022? It’s possible—given historical precedent. A Repeat of 2009 Red Wave in 2021?As the Virginian Pilot recently noted, “While Republicans have not won...

Back on May 10, Hamas fired seven rockets into Jerusalem, followed in short order by 3,200 rockets into Israeli cities. Targets included homes, apartment blocks, schools, kindergartens and an oil storage tank. Israel responded with strikes on targets in the Gaza Strip, and that prompted Joe Biden’s call to Benjamin Netanyahu, pushing for “a significant de-escalation today on the path to a ceasefire.” Biden also encountered Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who was on record that “apartheid-in-chief Netanyahu will not listen to anyone asking nicely.” Biden told her, “You’re a fighter and God thank you for being a fighter.” Back on...

In 2019, hate crimes in LA County against black people fell 13%, hate crimes against gays fell 22%, and hate crimes against Mexicans fell 9%, while hate crimes against Jews rose 18%. 89% of anti-religious hate crimes targeted Jews, only 7% affected Muslims. If you listened to the media, you would get the opposite impression with coverage that ignored antisemitism to focus on racism, homophobia and Islamophobia. A typical example of what they were ignoring was a Jewish Community Center getting a message “from a man with a Middle Eastern accent that said, ‘I will kill every single Jew....

Q is the result of the sacrifices and commitment of countless patriots to win back our captured country from the Deep State and achieve the transformation President Trump promised in this campaign video. President Trump has said the awakening of the public is key to this transformation.Q describes this awakening as follows: "The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought’), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding 'mind’ control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of ‘group-think’), but,...

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Palestinians rallied by the thousands Friday after a cease-fire took effect in the latest Gaza war, with many viewing it as costly but clear victory for the Islamic militant group Hamas. Israel vowed to respond with a “new level of force” to any further hostilities. An open-air market in Gaza City that was closed throughout the war reopened and shoppers could be seen stocking up on fresh tomatoes, cabbage and watermelons. Workers in orange traffic vests swept up rubble from surrounding roads. “Life will return, because this is not the first war, and it will...

The Hill used the old “Republicans have pounced” cliché to turn attention away from the disastrous effects President Joe Biden’s agenda is having on the economy. The liberal outlet tweeted May 20, whining that “Republicans have pounced on unexpectedly high inflation readings and a disappointing jobs report for April.” The Hill whined that the GOP suggested the terrible economic data were “the products of an overzealous government response that could kneecap the economy.” The tweet also happened to be the verbatim text from the second paragraph of The Hill reporter Niv Elis’s pro-Biden spin story headlined: “Biden tries to navigate...

Juliet Marine Systems ================================================================= The "Ghost" might be the most exciting, and impressive, innovation in marine technology since the submarine. Fast, agile, and mean-looking, could this diminutive little vessel be the answer to blue-water fleet protection and SPECOPS? That is, of course, if the US Navy actually buys it... What is the "Ghost" stealth boat? The "Ghost", or the Juliet Marine Systems "Ghost", is a highly advanced reconfigurable SWATH stealth-capable warship currently under development for the U.S. Navy. The vessel's design enables it to travel over water at a fraction of the friction experienced by conventional vessels. This provides it...

Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Thursday on CNN’s “The Situation Room” if Senate Republicans block the House bill to establish an independent commission to investigate the January 6 Capitol riots, Democrats “are going to insist on getting answers one way or the other.” Blitzer said, “Is this commission dead on arrival?

Can the learned Freepers explain to me why it becomes anyone's business whether or not an individual has had the Covid vaccine. Certainly, this should be an individual's choice like every healthcare choice. Why is is not a HIPPA violation for anyone, employers, airlines, cruise lines etc to demand to see proof of vaccination (which is in essence a medical record?)

The Roman Emperor Commodus (161-192 AD) is widely regarded as one of the "˜bad emperors" and a bloody tyrant. This image has been perpetuated in several movies, especially the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (1964) and Gladiator (2000). His reign and life were extraordinary by even the standards of the Roman Empire. However, what was the legacy of Commodus and was he is evil and Emperor as is often made out?

Listening to Joe Biden’s press conference, one would think he played an integral role in the cease-fire that is now in effect between Israel and Hamas. He even thanked Egypt for the “role” they played in brokering it. But the White House and American mainstream media are the only ones giving kudos to the President for anything other than a supporting role in the negotiations. According to Israel, Hamas, and Egypt, it was the United States that was the support player in the negotiations. Biden’s press conference continuously referenced calls that he had made — half-a-dozen — with Israeli Prime...

A 9/11-style committee to investigate the January 6 Capitol incursion may be imminent. The House passed a bill Wednesday authorizing a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the Jan. 6 pro-Trump assault on the U.S. Capitol, but the proposal could stall in the Senate after GOP leaders in Congress and former President Donald Trump urged Republicans to reject it. The legislation was the product of negotiations between the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, Democrat Bennie G. Thompson of Mississippi, and the panel’s top-ranking Republican, John Katko of New York. Modeled on the probe carried out by the 9/11...
