The Biden administration is still seizing land along the U.S. southern border for Donald Trump’s border wall despite announcing that he was not going to finish it. The administration insists they’re in the midst of a “review of federal resources to build the wall” and are allowing Trump-era court cases to proceed, including land seizure cases. That review was supposed to be concluded 60 days after Biden’s inauguration — March 20. The president made the announcement of the wall cancellation with great fanfare and publicity. And yet land has continued to be seized. “I’m … very, very disappointed in Joe...

The Queen “put her foot down” at Prince Andrew’s desire to appear at his father’s funeral in an admiral’s uniform. The monarch decreed that none of the royal guests would be in military dress after her middle son caused a stir by ordering his tailor to prepare his uniform for a rank he technically never attained, the Daily Mail reported.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) is fighting gun crime in his state by calling for a database of ammunition purchasers and banning .50 caliber rifles. ABC7 notes that Murphy also wants to require “gun safety training” as part of the process for obtaining a firearm ID card, enact gun storage obligations, mandate registration of out-of-state firearms, and relaunch the “smart gun commission” and a microstamping requirement, among other things. Murphy’s ideas are already enacted–and failing–in other states. For example, California already has ammunition gun control, yet South Los Angeles witnessed a 742 percent spike in shooting victims during the...

No joke. This is her actual explanation for why buying up properties around L.A., including a “mini-compound” in Topanga Canyon, isn’t inconsistent with Marxism: “I see my money as not my own. I see it as my family’s money as well.” If Marxism means making bank and sharing the riches with your kids and siblings, then you know what? I guess I’m okay with Marxism. As Marx himself said, “From each according to his abilities, to each according to whether they’re kin to a politburo member and have their eye on a four-bedroom.” As others have noted today about this...

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as woolWWII U.S. Army Officer and California Berkeley professor emeritus Irving Janis spent 50 years studying why groups of intelligent, knowledgeable people sometimes make very poor decisions. He coined the term, Groupthink: a detrimental psychological condition and practice of reasoning / decision-making that afflicts groups. It is characterized by uncritical acceptance or conformity to prevailing points of view where members of the group suspend reasoning faculties...

The international community must draw "clear red lines" with Russia, French President Emmanuel Macron said, including implementing sanctions after any "unacceptable behavior" by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said, however, that sanctions alone are not sufficient. In an interview with "Face The Nation" moderator Margaret Brennan, Macron said he "fully" shares Mr. Biden's desire to open dialogue with Russia. However, he said it was important to be clear with Putin "when we are not aligned."

Prediction: If Derek Chauvin is found guilty by the Minneapolis jury, there will be riots anyway, like we sometimes see in a city that wins the Super Bowl or World Series. Dust off Edward Banfield’s chapter on “Rioting Mostly for Fun and Profit” in The Unheavenly City. Which I may just talk about on our podcast this week. In the meantime. . .

About 15 years ago I began using the term ‘ideofascism’ to define a cultural movement I saw spreading throughout society which reminded me of the popular mass moment which swept across Europe, most particularly in Germany, from the early 1930s and into the 40s culminating in a world war. Although the masses of that era who embraced the Fascist Party were largely disillusioned with the collapse of the Axis powers, the people themselves who remained through and after the war were essentially the same and the only thing that really changed was they were now void of an ideology. They...

Over 1,200 Christian leaders in the UK have written to Prime Minister Boris Johnson to express their opposition to the government’s proposal to introduce COVID-19-status certification for domestic use. In an open letter, the church leaders, who are from various denominations, said they are “wholly opposed” to the scheme. They said the introduction of vaccine passports “would constitute an unethical form of coercion and violation of the principle of informed consent.” “People may have various reasons for being unable or unwilling to receive vaccines currently available including, for some Christians, serious issues of conscience related to the ethics of vaccine...

U.S.—A new study has found that many conservatives are deciding not to get the COVID-19 vaccine after they learned that liberals will continue staying away from them for their safety. The Biden administration has been trying to reach out to conservatives to get them to take the vaccine, but the excellent benefits of not getting vaccinated, like being able to be alone all the time and not having to interact with liberals, outweigh the benefits for many Republicans. "You mean they'll intentionally social distance from me, like, forever? Oh yeah, I'm definitely not getting vaccinated!" said one man in Texas....

As the headmaster of the famed Dalton School resigned over controversial race-based curriculum and policies, another storied Manhattan prep school faced a father’s public wrath over the same issue. Dalton School’s Jim Best announced he was leaving Friday to pursue “other exciting and inspiring opportunities” after 16 years at the school. His departure came after months of controversy at the Upper East Side academic bastion over the school’s “anti-racism” focus. At the same time, a father at the equally prestigious, $54,000-a-year Brearley School sent a scathing, nearly 1700-word letter to the institution’s roughly 600 families over Brearley’s “obsession with race.”...

Former President George W. Bush on Friday made a call for what he described as a "gradual" path to legal residency and eventually citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants -- while at the same time claiming that "amnesty" would be "fundamentally unfair." [cut] "The help and respect historically accorded to new arrivals is one reason so many people still aspire and wait to become Americans. So how is it that in a country more generous to new arrivals than any other, immigration policy is the source of so much rancor and ill will?" he asks. Bush lists a number of...
