Baltimore squirrel eating pizza reminds social media that the mammals aren’t picky with food By Cortney Moore | Fox News Pizza might not be a natural part of a squirrel’s diet, but these tree-scaling rodents aren’t letting that fact stop them. That’s what Allison and Matt Robicelli showed folks when they shared their first-hand account and video of a pizza-loving squirrel in Baltimore with The Takeout, a food publication under G/O Media Inc. While it’s not clear where the slice came from, Matt spotted the squirrel grabbing the pizza and climbing up a tree with it all from their front...

The world is running out of sand: Shortage could mean there won't be enough to make glass vials for COVID vaccines Sand is used in concrete and glass, making it essential in housing and tech There's a sand shortage, with under 1,000 sand mines in the US That could hurt the construction industry, which uses up to 50 billion tons a year Since 2015 there's been a global shortage of glass that's only worsening as vials are needed for vaccine rollout Experts say demand for glass vials will rise by 2 billion over the next two years

Cops were greeted by a four-foot live crocodile while conducting a drug bust at a waterfront home in California Tuesday, authorities said. Officers found the crocodile just before 6:30 p.m. during a search of 44-year-old Donny Askar’s home in Oxnard, according to the Oxnard Police Department. Heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine were also allegedly found in the residence. The reptile had been “submerged in a poorly secured tank with rancid water,” cops said, adding that they were worried it would escape into the Channel Islands Harbor since Askar’s home is near the ocean.

The evolution of the bilateral relationship between the United States and China over the past 20 years cannot be denied.Since 2000, we have had 12 years of GOP Presidential Administrations and 8 years of a Democrat Presidential Administration. For much of the first 16 years, going back to 2000, the foreign and economic policy of the United States towards China was one that functioned on the basis of mutual “exploitation.” Wall Street and Main Street saw China as a source of cheap labor and a potentially huge new market of Chinese consumers who might be purchasers of US manufactured goods. But Pres....

A Hawaii lawmaker who implemented tough drunk-driving penalties in her state has been arrested — for allegedly driving under the influence. Democratic state Rep. Sharon Har, 52, started pushing for the tough changes to DUI laws in 2008 after surviving a crash the previous year when a drunk driver slammed into her, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser said. But the mother of twin 3-year-old daughters was herself arrested in Honolulu last month after she was pulled over in her 2019 Mercedes while facing the wrong direction on a one-way street, the outlet said, citing police reports. “I’m embarrassed, I didn’t know,” Har...

Gov. Andrew Cuomo had someone else take his mandatory workplace sex harassment training course for him — then signed off on it as if he’d taken it himself, accuser Charlotte Bennett says in a bombshell new interview aired Friday night. “In 2019, he did not take the sexual harassment training,” the 25-year-old alleges in the interview on “CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell.” SNIP “I heard Stephanie, say, ‘I can’t believe I’m doing this for you,'” Bennett recalls –referring to office director Stephanie Benton. “I’m making a joke about the fact that she was completing the training for him,” Bennett...

Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson (R) said Friday that he has not decided on whether to run for reelection next year but hinted that retiring after the end of his second term is “probably my preference now.” Johnson made a vow to serve only two terms in the Senate when he first ran for the upper chamber, and his seat is expected to be hotly contested by Democrats whether or not he runs again. In comments to Wisconsin media outlets that his office confirmed to The Hill, Johnson indicated he’s leaning toward honoring his pledge but added the caveat that the...

The Tampa police union is fighting the firing of the officer, who was working as a school resource officer at the time he was caught on camera using the slur. Image: Delvin WhiteA Florida police officer, who was working as a school resource officer, has been fired after he was caught on body camera footage using the N-word and later admitted to his superiors that it wasn't the first time. Tampa officer Delvin White was fired "for violations of policy that prohibit discriminatory conduct," according to a Wednesday statement from the Tampa Police Department. White, an eight-year department veteran, was...

An interesting insider note from Politico points out a tenuous albeit proactive position by President Donald Trump toward the institutional republican party and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. While the Politico outline is transparently positioned from the leftist narrative toward the chasm amid the establishment vs MAGA base of Trump supporters, the information -if accurate- does align with a forward looking President Trump positioning to confront the corporate wing of Republican elites. The primary way President Trump can leverage, and ultimately defeat the DeceptiCons, will be through the financials. President Trump has already announced the MAGA community should make political...

President Biden’s announcement this week that the U.S. should have enough vaccines to inoculate every adult American by the end of May brought hope of a return to normalcy. This apparently is prehistoric thinking. “The last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking,” Mr. Biden said Wednesday after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott lifted his statewide mask mandate and restrictions on businesses. Democrats are applauding Mr. Biden, but imagine if Donald Trump had attacked Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s lockdown as “Neanderthal thinking.” Vaccination rates in Texas and other states have been increasing while hospitalizations are plunging. About one in five adults in...

Yet every day it seems we hear that neither politicians nor the public are paying sufficient heed to expertise. The claim has become a staple of scholarly assertion, media coverage, and political argument. Commentators raise alarm at our present “post-truth” condition,[2]made possible by rampant science illiteracy among the public, the rise of populist politics in many nations, and the proliferation of unverifiable information via the Internet and social media, exacerbated by mischievous actors such as Russia and the alt-right. This condition is said to result in a Balkanization of allegedly authoritative sources of information that in turn underlies distrust of...

NEW COMPENDIUM BOOK: Defending the Faith against Present Heresies….Since the Church’s earliest days, even in the Letters of Paul, there developed a genre of writing adversus haereses, against heresies. The reason is obvious: Christ is the Truth. With the exception of those on the ideological Left regarding elections, Christians want the TRUTH, even though it is hard. When people stray from the Truth to sow error, they and what they teach become a threat to the salvation of souls, their own and those of others who embrace their errors. Christ gave a special ministry to the Church, the Petrine Ministry...

Explainer: Cardinal Tobin will now help Pope Francis pick bishops. What does that mean for the U.S. Church?Pope Francis appointed Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin of Newark, N.J., to the Vatican’s influential Congregation for Bishops on March 4, filling the position left open when Cardinal Donald W. Wuerl, the former archbishop of Washington, D.C., retired in November from his Vatican roles.Cardinal Tobin joins Chicago’s Cardinal Blase Cupich as one of two Americans on the congregation. The two will play a key role in choosing bishops for the United States in particular, as congregation members generally have significant sway within the body...

On Friday morning, 26-year-old Devon Portillo went before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Alpine, Texas, and pleaded guilty to one charge of lying to federal investigators as part of a plea agreement. Portillo remains free on bond pending a sentencing hearing. The case began over the summer of 2020 when Portillo ran as a Republican to unseat Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson. Portillo’s bid was unsuccessful. According to prosecutors, the charge stems from Portillo lying to FBI agents during an investigation into a racist social media message published to the candidate’s account. Once the old posts came to light, Portillo...

In his bluntest language yet, Benny Gantz warns that an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites – and a Third Lebanon War – could be coming. U.S. President Joe Biden ordered air strikes in eastern Syria yesterday against Iranian-funded and supplied terrorist militias whom U.S. intelligence says were responsible for the recent series of attacks on American and Iraqi bases and soldiers in Iraq. But those were pinpricks, designed to take out a few buildings, not to take out actual terrorist leaders. Meanwhile, Biden has removed the Houthis – an Iranian-funded and armed terrorist proxy group in Yemen – from...

Japanese supercomputer simulations showed that wearing two masks gave limited benefit in blocking viral spread compared with one properly fitted mask. The findings in part contradict recent recommendations from the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that two masks were better than one at reducing a person's exposure to the coronavirus. Researchers used the Fugaku supercomputer to model the flow of virus particles from people wearing different types and combinations of masks, according to a study released on Thursday by research giant Riken and Kobe University. Using a single surgical-type mask, made of non-woven material, had 85% effectiveness...

As officials in Texas and Mississippi lifted statewide mask mandates, researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offered fresh evidence of the importance of mask use in a new study on Friday. Wearing masks, the study reported, was linked to fewer infections with the coronavirus and Covid-19 deaths in counties across the United States The researchers also found that counties opening restaurants for on-premises dining — indoors or outdoors — saw a rise in daily infections about six weeks later, and an increase in Covid-19 death rates about two months later The study does not prove cause and...
