Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky on Monday warned states against lifting coronavirus restrictions, pointing to the threat of variants and the "stalling" of recent declines in new cases. "Our recent declines appear to be stalling, stalling at over 70,000 cases a day," Walensky said at a White House press briefing. "With these new statistics, I am really worried about reports that more states are rolling back the exact public health measures we have recommended to protect people from COVID-19," she added. New cases had declined for weeks, from as much as 250,000 per day in...

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis tore into the anti-Trump wing of the GOP, deriding them as the “failed Republican establishment” during a speech. His comments are further evidence that the possible 2024 contender for the Republican presidential nominee is firmly aligning himself with the former President in the party’s ongoing civil war. “We cannot, we will not, go back to the days of the failed Republican establishment of yesteryear,” DeSantis said. “We reject open borders and instead support American sovereignty and the American worker,” he continued in a speech practically ripped from the Trump playbook. “Building a movement on amnesty and...

My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell was cut off during an interview at the Conservative Political Action Conference Sunday after he hurled wild conspiracy theories about COVID-19 and the vaccines for the virus. Lindell was stopped in the middle of his interview with host Liz Willis of the conservative YouTube channel Right Side Broadcasting Network when he claimed that people who did not have the coronavirus were being diagnosed with it. “You stub your toe, and they say, ‘Oh you’ve got COVID.’ Let’s pile on, you know,” Lindell told Willis — who interrupted him to quickly shut the conversation down.

Christians in Venezuela are reeling from a shocking knife attack in which they were forced to eat pages of the Bible and had crosses cut into their skin. The victims, all men, were beaten up by a hooded gang armed with knives and sticks in Venezuela, Open Doors reports. The men are from a Christian church in Libertador, in Mérida State, western Venezuela. They were at the House of Restoration, a rehabilitation centre for recovering drug addicts when the attack took place. "They covered our faces and started to beat and stab us," said one of the victims.

It’s time for Summit County to get over itself and lift the restrictions. The public health crisis is long gone, and what remains is a liberal Democratic government at the local, county and state levels that keeps using over-extended emergency powers to continually move the goalposts down the field. Widespread misinformation and overstated danger have left the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration and World Health Organization with serious credibility issues. Add the one-size-fits-all approach of Gov. Jared Polis and the Summit County commissioners, and people are frozen in place with no personal responsibility allowed to...

I was sent a link to a post on Twitter that shows a video of what appears to be a 4 or 5-year-old boy who is sitting on a woman’s lap as the woman is reading an interactive children’s book with him while going through the alphabet. Nothing wrong with that, right? Except, instead of learning his ABC’s he’s being taught his GayBC’s. Wait, what? A picture/word book titled The GayBC’s was written by Matt Webb, a gay graphic designer by trade, teaches LGBTQ vocabulary with illustrations and poems to bring gay teaching to readers ages 4 through 8 so...

Guatemala’s three most active volcanoes have magnificently erupted simultaneously. The last time the phenomenon occurred was in 2018. That event took the lives of hundreds of locals when communities were hit by gas, ash, and rock. Volcanoes are explicitly mentioned by the prophets as playing a role in the end of days, preparing the world by burning away impurities as a crucible is used in metallurgy to purify metal. This process is described in Zechariah. And I will bring the third part through the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is...

Dave Sedaris once remarked that Sallie Mae sounded like the name of an innocent country cousin, until you had to pay back your student loans, at which time she took on the characteristics of a Mafia enforcer. Think long and hard before taking on student loan debt.Financial decisions you make when you are young can cripple you for life. And increasingly, our society has having fewer and fewer qualms about eating its own young. Getting young people to take out loans is a brisk business these days. When I was a kid, no one would lend you money, as you...

Following the death of Shemp Howard, Columbia continued to churn out "Three Stooges" short subjects without a replacement actor being selected. Eventually, Joe Besser was chosen to replace Shemp Howard. During the period when the studio kept filming with only Moe Howard and Larry Fein available, the method used was to combine recycled stock footage of Shemp Howard as well as the use of body doubles to cover for Shemp in a number of films. Stooge fans referred to these stand-ins (usually shot from behind with their backs to the cameras) as "the Fake Shemps." This made me think about...

At the just-wrapped Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, headlining speaker Donald Trump made an inflammatory speech from a strange, zig-zagging stage. The speech, of course, drew attention, but it featured largely the kind of content we have grown to expect from the former president. The stage itself, however, drew anger for its shape — identical to that of the Odal or Othala rune, historically used as a Nazi insignia.

The election fraud issue has not concluded. All of President Trump's next steps outlined in his address at CPAC rely on the resolution of the election fraud issue. If the stolen election is allowed to stand, there are no more free elections and no point to all of the President's vision.I don't know what the next steps are but I believe they are in the hands of the military to uphold their oath to protect the constitution, and our country from all enemies foreign and domestic. The latest salvo in the propaganda war is the released report, as if it just happend...

Minneapolis city officials convened during a Zoom call Monday morning to go over public safety preparations for the Derek Chauvin trial, which is set to begin next week. During the meeting, it was announced that the city will be dropping its plan to pay social media influencers for sharing city-approved messages during the trial. The city originally planned on paying six social media influencers, all coming from various minority communities, $2,000 each during Chauvin's and the remaining three former Minneapolis police officers' trials that will take place later in the year. "At this point, we will not move forward with...

A gay, polyamorous California throuple made history in 2017 when they became the first family in the state to list three parents on a birth certificate. Their reproductive journey and legal battle to become fathers to Piper, now 3, is detailed in “Three Dads and a Baby” (out March 9, Cleis Press), written by one of her dads, Dr. Ian Jenkins. Jenkins and his partners, Jeremy Hodges and Dr. Alan Mayfield, don’t see their family — which now also includes their son, Parker, 1 — as unusual. “The fact that Piper has three parents is just not a big deal....

On Monday morning, PA GOP Chairman Lawrence Tabas sent out an email asking state committee to vote whether to “strongly rebuke” or “censure” Sen. Pat Toomey. Voting will be open until 9 PM. Toomey was one of seven Republicans to find former President Donald Trump “guilty” in the latest impeachment trial, although the Senate ultimately voted to acquit the former President. Tabas endorsed a censurious statement that he characterized as distinct from a censure. “The statement that I proposed, and firmly support, strongly rebukes and admonishes Senator Toomey but does not censure,” he wrote. “If a majority decide to censure...

After the United Methodist Church agrees to divide, a new Global Methodist Church will form for traditionalist conferences, congregations and persons to join, it was announced today. The Transitional Leadership Team of the anticipated new denomination includes 17 persons, three retired bishops among them, plus the Rev. Martin Nicholas of the Houston area, an IRD board member who chairs UMAction. A vision for this emerging church was posted last year, with Nicholas, myself as IRD President and UMAction director John Lomperis participating. United Methodism’s governing General Conference will meet August 29, 2022. Its chief action item will be to divide...

A couple of largely unknown Congressmen from California – Rep Jimmy Panetta (D, Beijing) and Rep Ted Lieu (D, Tehran) - assembled a couple dozen fellow Democrats and issued a letter last week, proposing that the nuclear codes were too important to entrust to the President alone. Citing contemporary rumors and slanders about past presidents’ illnesses or incapacitation, this group declared that we should revise the whole approach America takes to the “nuclear football.” They posit that no nuclear weapons should be used without such democratic steps as a Congressional declaration of war, and such fail-safes as a requirement that...

Instead of turning the other cheek, as the Obama/Biden administration mostly did, President Biden followed the peace through strength philosophy when he struck Iranian-backed militias in Syria. The was in retaliation for an attack on U.S. interests.A total of 14 rockets were launched on February 15 into Irbil in Iraq, targeting a U.S. facility. The rockets landed near the U.S. military base and ended up killing a civilian contractor. One U.S. service member suffered a concussion, while another five civilian contractors were injured. This was "a dangerous escalation and a criminal terrorist attack,” said Iraqi President Barham Salih. The rockets were fired...

America is presently caught in a cultural riptide that is dragging us to a place where most of us really don’t want to go. To those bothering to look, it is a current that alarmingly is growing in strength, becoming inescapable, and, with increasing speed is taking us further and further away from that shining light on the hill we were raised to love and used to call home. As that light—symbolic of our liberties and freedoms—fades in the distance, we are being swept away against our will toward a dark place ruled by a self-chosen cabal of elitists who...
