The Biden presidency is already turning into very good news for Iran, Russia, Norway and Saudi Arabia, as oil prices soar and create massive wealth for these nations. Biden's choice to end shale, review existing oil permits and halt the Keystone XL Oil Pipeline, and thereby end U.S. oil independence, is a dream come true to many. Russia and Saudi must be overjoyed. The order to stop new oil and natural gas leases on public lands aims to strengthen "green energy." Which is great! We all wish there were more green sustainable energy in the world. The problem is, we...

A pileup involving 100 vehicles has killed at least five people, injured dozens more and brought traffic on a slippery Texas interstate to a halt, officials said Thursday. Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman Mike Drivdahl said authorities were going to each vehicle to assess medical needs after the "mass casualty incident" involving tractor-trailers and other vehicles on Interstate 35. The freeway will be closed all day "to remove vehicles one by one," he said. Thirty-six people have been taken to hospitals with varying degrees of injuries, according to the spokesman. Authorities had to use the Jaws of Life to pry...

The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits fell slightly last week to 793,000, evidence that job cuts remain high despite a substantial decline in new confirmed viral infections. Last week’s total declined from 812,000 the previous week, the Labor Department said Thursday. That figure was revised higher from the previously reported 779,000. The numbers point to a still-elevated number of layoffs. Before the virus erupted in the United States in March, weekly applications for jobless aid had never topped 700,000, even during the Great Recession. […] Thursday’s government report also showed a sizable rise in the total number of Americans...

"I am finally ready to come out of the closet and live my truth." Disney's response was immediate, as the company profusely apologized and hired her back. The past year has definitely been tough on mail carriers in some areas. It’s bad enough that they have to visit so many homes every day, wondering if they’re going to contract the plague. But in some of the nation’s larger cities, they are also contending with mounting crime rates and assaults on postal workers. In the Edison Park neighborhood of Chicago, it appears that all of this pressure has finally become too much. CBS News in Chicago is reporting that some residents of that part of town haven’t gotten any mail delivered in up to two weeks. And when...

AJ Louderback, Sheriff of Jackson County in Texas, told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday night that it was “absolutely true” that the Biden administration was releasing illegal immigrants into U.S. communities without giving them a COVID-19 test. “It’s absolutely true,” Louderback said. “It’s even, if I can continue, Tucker, the memo, the memo that I received this last week, it’s essentially a defund the ICE by memo, by a memorandum that was sent out by David Borkowski on Jan. 20 or 21. So this is a particularly devastating document for Texans and Americans here in the United States....

President Joe Biden is reportedly considering domestic travel restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus variants while effectively opening the nation’s borders to unvetted foreign trespassers. “This is a war and we’re at battle with the virus. War is messy and unpredictable, and all options are on the table,” an anonymous White House official told the Miami Herald, singling out Florida, where a third of all strains of the U.K. variant found in the U.S. has been identified. The variant, known as B.1.1.7 is supposedly more transmissible, doubling in the United States every 10 days according to a new study...

U.S. law enforcement officials are investigating a hacker’s unsuccessful attempt to tamper with a Florida city’s water supply, an event that cybersecurity professionals view as yet another wake-up call that should cause the government to examine its role in protecting critical infrastructure from more skillful attackers. On Monday, local officials from the city of Oldsmar and the surrounding Pinellas county said a “bad actor” used software that provides remote access to a public water treatment facility to increase the level of sodium hydroxide—the main ingredient in drain cleaners, which is used in small quantities to adjust pH levels—to a dangerous...

Amazon has just unveiled the plans for its new corporate headquarters that will stand in Arlington, Virginia, directly across the Potomac River from Washington DC. The announcement inaccurately describes the design as a “double helix” but scholars of ancient history and the Bible will readily recognize the ancient model for the design: the Tower of Babel. Construction on their second corporate headquarters is expected to begin next year and when completed in 2025 at a cost of $2.5 billion. It will include 2.8 million square feet of new office space distributed across three 22-story buildings. The location is less than...

Georgia Republicans are pushing a series of new voting rules that would clamp down on or roll back many of the policies that helped drive Democratic turnout in recent elections. The measures being introduced in the GOP-controlled state legislature include efforts to ban automatic voter registration and the use of drop boxes for returning absentee ballots. Another proposal seeks to do away with a state law that allows voters to cast absentee ballots without an excuse for doing so. The new push for voting restrictions comes after Democrats scored a slew of victories in Georgia in late 2020 and early...

A gay white father of a mixed-race child has been denied a spot on the San Francisco Board of Education's volunteer parent committee because his race doesn't bring enough diversity to the group. The issue of whether to allow Seth Brenzel to volunteer for the 15-person parent advisory council was debated for almost two hours on Tuesday night during a board meeting. The parent advisory council, who had unanimously supported Brenzel to join their all-female committee, had submitted his name to be approved by the school board. His candidacy, however, faced opposition from some board members and members of the...

Last year Jeremy Haroldson, the dynamic Pastor of “Impact Ministries” of Wheatland Wyoming, came to the realization that he and fellow Christians, both in his congregation and throughout the area, were clearly not being represented by the “business as usual” mindset of either the Republican “Establishment” dominated Wyoming legislature, or Dan Kirkbride, their district’s representative at the time. So Haroldson made the bold move of challenging and defeating Kirkbride in the August 2020 Republican primary election. He then went on to win the general in November. This sent shock waves throughout the state legislature. Concurrently with Haroldson, a dozen other entrenched...
