  • Mark Cuban Confirms Mavericks Will No Longer Play National Anthem Before Games

The national anthem has become a hot topic in professional sports over the last several years. Ever since Colin Kaepernick began the #TakeaKnee movement back in 2016, the public has debated whether athletes should be forced to stand during the pre-game tradition or allowed to exercise their right to protest. Dallas Mave

Haven’t heard about any national anthem protests at Mavericks games? There’s a good reason for that: Dallas isn’t and won’t be playing “The Star-Spangled Banner” anymore. Mark Cuban told The Athletic it was his decision to eliminate the tradition of playing the anthem before games. The move went by unnoticed through the first 13 combined preseason and regular-season games at American Airlines Center because the Mavericks did not publicize it, either within the organization or through an announcement to media. Monday marked the first game in which the Mavericks allowed a limited number of fans into their arena.

If you think Fox News Channel has gone to the dark side, wait until you see what happens next. Fox Media owner Lachlan Murdoch told Deadline that he’s just fine with the direction of the once conservative news channel. “We believe where we are targeted, to the center-right, is exactly where we should be targeted. We don’t need to go further right. We don’t believe America is further right,” he said. “And we are obviously not going to pivot left.” In recent days the network has been rocked by high-level departures of well-known conservatives like Lou Dobbs, Trish Regan and...

By February 1, Joe Biden had signed an unprecedented 42 executive orders in just the first few days of his administration. These included executive orders which looked to expand socialized medicine, provide taxpayer funding for foreign abortions, destroy American energy jobs, rejoin meaningless and counterproductive international agreements and organizations, further the promotion of ahistorical mischaracterizations of the United States, and to call for transgender rights in school sports — to name a few. Despite Biden’s use of the executive branch to bypass the legislature since entering office— after reaching the White House while calling for national unity — the new...

“The House managers were focused, they were organized, they made a compelling argument. President Trump’s team was disorganized. If I’m an impartial juror, and one side is doing a great job, and the other side is doing a terrible job, on the issue at hand, as an impartial juror, I’m going to vote for the side that did the good job.” “If anyone disagrees with my vote and would like an explanation I ask them to listen to the arguments presented by the House Managers and Trump’s lawyers. The House managers had much stronger constitutional arguments. The president’s team...

After months of hearing that life could never return to normal until we get a vaccine, we got a vaccine (two, actually), but life did not return to normal. In fact, life got worse. We were instructed to take the new vaccine as soon as possible and then to put on more masks. Anyone who complained about that was punished. Most people obeyed the orders (not like they had a choice), but the whole thing made them nervous. Why exactly did the rules change all of a sudden? Was there a good reason for that? When are we finally going...

It's been a tough few months for conservatives, but I figure it's time we try to get clarity on where we are, why we're here, and where we might go in the future. Yes, it will sting, but what's the alternative? Somehow or other, we must find a way at least to cope with, and at most to replace at some point, what is shaping up to become the most destructive presidential regime in American history. That it seems to essentially be a foreign sort of thing is even more devastating. As nightmarish as it is to contemplate it, the...

The U.S. Senate voted on Feb. 9 to authorize the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, overruling an argument by the defense alleging the Senate doesn’t have jurisdiction to try Trump because he’s now a private citizen. Over the course of four hours, House impeachment managers and Trump’s attorneys presented their arguments for and against the constitutionality of the trial. In the end, 44 Republican senators voted in favor of dropping the trial because it’s illegitimate, seven votes short of the majority needed to stop the proceedings at the gate.

This is interesting. Suddenly in February a Twitter account appears soon after a video questioning the death of Ashli Babbitt is made public. As I type this there are 11 tweets all posted in the last 11 hours. The tweets involve asking for help identifying 4 key witnesses (or 4 random individuals in the crowd if you like). If you have any information to help 'Justice for Ashli' identify these 4 witnesses please contact the people at the Twitter account posted here: Justice For Ashli Babbitt Twitter

U.S.—The nation is preparing to celebrate what is expected to become a beloved annual holiday: Two Weeks To Slow The Spread Day, to be held in March every year. "This time of year we like to come together to remember the historic day one year ago when we put on masks and locked ourselves down, trusting that the lockdown would be over in just two weeks," said local man Paul Christof as he stared out his window longingly, his three masks securely in place. "This year, I'm going all out with a Zoom party with no more than five of...

Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby said Monday that the estimated cost for National Guard protection of the U.S. Capitol complex through March 15 will cost taxpayers a total of $483 million. Kirby said at a Department of Defense (DoD) press briefing that the breakdown of the costs is $284 million to cover personnel and $199 million to cover operations. Tens of thousands of National Guard troops deployed to Washington to assist with security in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol breach. Around 5,000 troops are expected to remain in the city until March 15 as former President Donald Trump’s Senate...

A federal judge in Texas extended the suspension of President Joe Biden’s 100-day moratorium on deportations until Feb. 23. U.S. District Court Judge Drew Tipton in the Southern District of Texas on Tuesday ruled that the federal government cannot make immigration enforcement changes without consulting Texas. As a result, he extended the temporary restraining order by another 14 days, asserting that the state of Texas would face more harm than the federal government if the extension wasn’t granted.

A top ethics lawyer during the Obama administration said this week that President Joe Biden’s administration should clarify ethics rules after it was revealed his brother’s law firm was using the sibling relationship in promotional material. Frank Biden was hired by Berman Law Group as a senior adviser in 2018. Since then, the Florida-based company has touted his ties to Joe Biden. In one post in 2018, the firm wrote that “Joe Biden’s brother joins The Berman Law Group.” In an advertisement that ran on the day Joe Biden was inaugurated, the firm said Frank Biden shared his brother’s “commitment...

A law professor who’s been sitting on Facebook’s oversight board stepped down to accept a position in President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice. Stanford’s Pamela Karlan will serve as principal deputy assistant attorney general in the DOJ’s Civil Division after spending less than a year on the Facebook board set up in 2019 to review the social media behemoth’s content policing decisions. In 2019, she testified at Trump’s first impeachment trial, making a quip at the expense of his son, for which she later apologized. During one public appearance she joked that she “had to cross the street” to avoid...

A judge has temporarily blocked Los Angeles County George Gascón's efforts to do away with certain sentencing enhancements, after his own prosecutors sued him, claiming he was ignoring the law. The directives forbade prosecutors from seeking longer sentences for repeat offenders under the state's Three Strikes Law, as well as in several other types of cases. The Association of Deputy District Attorneys for Los Angeles County (ADDA) brought a lawsuit against him, and Judge James Chalfant granted their request for a preliminary injunction, allowing certain sentencing enhancements to continue for the duration of the case.

Last week I told you about former teen and current gun-grabber David Hogg starting his own pillow company to take down My Pillow founder Mike Lindell. You can almost see the cartoon thought-balloon over Hogg’s adorable little head: “Hey, if a crazy crackhead can become a multimillionaire by making pillows, how tough can it be?” Unfortunately, young Mr. Hogg is quickly discovering exactly how tough it can be. And thanks to the modern miracle of Twitter, we can watch him sink into a pit of disillusioned despair in real-time.
