The national anthem has become a hot topic in professional sports over the last several years. Ever since Colin Kaepernick began the #TakeaKnee movement back in 2016, the public has debated whether athletes should be forced to stand during the pre-game tradition or allowed to exercise their right to protest.

It is played because the leagues to some extent or another require that the national anthem(s) be played prior to a game.
There should be no law that requires it, but in stadiums and arenas that are publicly owned and leased, the controlling authority could require it in the lease.
I guess Cuban supports the BLM activists who murdered five Dallas cops.
