The knives were out for me in January 2017 when I arrived in Washington as the White House correspondent for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. You see, I worked for what scolds liked to call Sheldon Adelson's paper -- and that was a no-no. Adelson died Monday night, and I never got a chance to say this. Had he given me marching orders? I heard that question a lot in 2017. In fact, I didn't meet or talk to Adelson until 2018, when I introduced myself at an event ahead of the Jerusalem Embassy opening. The "marching orders" question is one...

“New Year’s Resolution From God to You.” (If you read the Jan. 3 study, then you are a witness.)Vol. 42 was the first Bible Study to involve husband David. That happened after he told me about his commitment to the verse, He must increase, but I must decrease (John 3:30).Upon hearing his explanation, I decided the verse along with David’s reasoning would be my next Bible study topic. But he pushed back. Only when I told him that I would write the study as a “new year’s resolution from which others would benefit” did David reluctantly agree. If you read...

The media lie. All the time. They lied about former President Barack Obama's economy; they tried to make us believe the worst economy since the Great Depression was a great economy. Then they lied about President Donald Trump's soaring economy. They tried to make us believe the best economy in 50 years, maybe the best economy ever for middle-class Americans, was a bad economy. They lied about the Black Lives Matter riots. For months, we saw radical communists, Marxists and violent thugs riot, loot, burn, mug and murder while attacking police officers with bricks, pipes and Molotov cocktails. They burned...

SAN DIEGO - President-elect Joe Biden’s decision to immediately ask Congress to offer legal status to an estimated 11 million people in the country has surprised advocates given how the issue has long divided Democrats and Republicans, even within their own parties. Biden will announce legislation his first day in office to provide a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants in the United States illegally, according to four people briefed on his plans. Biden’s plan is the polar opposite of Donald Trump, whose successful 2016 presidential campaign rested in part on curbing or stopping illegal immigration. “This really does...

Famously, Google’s motto is “Don’t Be Evil.” Maybe “famously” isn’t the right word. "Hilariously” is more appropriate because Google is, in fact, an evil company. But it’s not just Google. Name the tech giant and they are pretty much working in ways that are detrimental, if not downright destructive, to the United States of America and the freedoms we hold dear. Google not only tracks every keystroke you make, but it also manipulates your worldview without you even knowing it. The biggest problem with Google is the monopoly control they have over internet searches. They control almost everything people see...

As part of this traditional process, the sheet is placed on a cushion and put outside the bedroom door where it can be examined by the couple’s waiting families. SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – It’s an unusual sight to see in downtown Sacramento with the California National Guard set up for the next several days ahead of any potential unrest. Tanks and troops are scattered all around the area to protect government buildings. “I’ve never seen the Capitol with this level of security before,” said Timothy Dellavan. To him, the number of military mixed in among the ordinary was significant. Saturday was the first day 1,000 California national guardsmen deployed around the capital city. “It feels weird, it’s definitely uncommon,” said Mike Juliano, who walked around the downtown area in awe.

The first reading for Sunday Mass speaks to us of the call of Samuel. In examining it, we can see what it is that makes a great prophet. Put more theologically, we can see the ways in which God’s graces form a great prophet.Samuel was surely one of the most significant prophets of the Old Testament and lived at a critical time, as Israel shifted from the time of the judges to the time of the monarchy. Ultimately, it was he who would see Israel through the difficult time of Saul’s reign and prepare and anoint them for David’s...

I am finding myself more disillusioned with politics than ever before. It's not just the stolen presidential election but the entire media is now anti-conservative and going for the jugular to smear and destroy. Every article I come across you can see it and it's pretty depressing! They have some how got this guy in office and have to rally round him and boost him. Opposition must be ridiculed/smeared and called extreme. They're even coming after services like Parler and shutting them down. I still logon to FR - perhaps the last free space on the internet - but generally...
