icture the scene: a young bride is alone with her new husband on their wedding night. They make love. But then comes a disturbing test of their union. He examines the bedsheets for drops of blood to prove she had preserved her sexual purity for him.
As part of this traditional process, the sheet is placed on a cushion and put outside the bedroom door where it can be examined by the couple’s waiting families.
Once they are satisfied with the proof of blood – showing that the bride’s hymen broke on her wedding night and that she was a virgin bride – this ‘ceremony’ is finished. The family duly disbands and the young woman’s torment of trepidation is over.

Because they are muslims, and live in the dark ages?
Welcome to Britainistan. The island needs missionaries now.
I knew this was about Muslims before I even read the article.

Marry ‘em even younger...
I’m sure the rise in out-of-wedlock births in the West is directly tied to refusal of men to commit to marriage and children; I’d love to see how many of those births are deliberate/planned on the part of the fathers.
The gender war stoked by the enemedia, and the legal framework set up by feminazis in gubmint, have killed any desire to breed among many men - and the more educated, the more they know the risks.
Dear Sarah Sands, don’t be such an Islamophobe.
I think some Christian cultures used to do this too. I seem to remember reading long ago that the Greeks once did, only they hung the sheets out the window for the whole town to admire.
I believe that is where the Japanese flag came from.
Could be wrong
Land of the rising sun.

Armenians do this as well.
Disgusting. The hymen can break if it’s even in tact long before first intercourse. Not all women bleed when they first have sex. Ugh. Patriarchy. Why isn’t there a virginity test for men? I feel sick.
Neither the men, nor the women, should have sex with someone until marriage, if one cares anything about God’s Word.
Women have access to tampons, which adds to “hymen” issues. Hymens can break from non-sexual activity or just be loose. Men using the hymen’s status for virginity is pretty stupid, anywhere.
When 50% of all person of adult age have at least one sexually transmitted disease, I understand the “virginity” concern. I also understand it from a faithfulness perspective, as sex for virgins is still special in meaning and not just the equivalent of a “thumbs up” between people, a casual “hook up,” or a “friends with benefits” situation.
Our culture has really plunged full on into government-promoted hedonism.
Oh, Ahahaha, ouch my sides!
This is not a scenario from medieval times but happened – as it does regularly – in today’s Britain. According to the United Nations, Human Rights Watch and other organisations, such ‘virginity tests’ are conducted in many countries. They are most common in North Africa and the Middle East, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and South Africa. While both the Bible and the Koran forbid extra-marital sex, the tests are held to be particularly important by some minority groups in Britain.
“... many countries ... some minority groups...” The lengths to which the British press goes to avoid identifying “Muslims” by name.
FReegards AG!
In that case the groom protects her by cutting his fingertip and smearing the blood on the sheet before he hangs it out. Do you find other characteristics of Islamic culture disgusting?
I don’t know why you blame “Patriarchy” or what exactly you may mean by that word, but those who believe in Darwinian “evolution” should not be surprised or disgusted at any custom which derives from force. The strong ones are enforcing their whim on the weak. No?
