There is a certain historical irony in the same movement that fought to give every rapist and killer the right to a free lawyer is now working to take away the right of people they don't like to be able to pay for a lawyer. But that is the basic trajectory of the Left. 1. Turn a legal right into an entitlement 2. Make the entitlement dependent on a political test rather than an objective service The steepness of the rate of descent is all the more notable when you consider that four years ago the right to an...

“I don’t for a single second say that all white people are privileged. Of course not. But there are benefits even if you come from a low income and you’re white. You’re never judged on your race,” she claimed, adding: “You may be discriminated against because of class, you may be discriminated against because of your age, you may be discriminated against because of gender, size, etc, but you will never be discriminated against because of your race and that in itself feeds into the concept of white privilege.” This is arguably not the case at the BBC, however, which...

Inauguration Day and the weeks that follow should be a time for the new president to unite the country and build an agenda that crosses party lines. As millions of Americans are hurting because of the coronavirus, Biden appears hell-bent on cancelling an extraordinarily effective and life-giving policy. President Ronald Reagan originally enacted the Mexico City policy to ensure unwilling American taxpayers didn’t fund overseas abortions. Every Republican president...

I’ve often said the world needs more babies and Christmas trees. Each adds a brilliant splendor to our world. Having a passion for babies and Christmas, I work full-time to protect them, and in our home we have three Christmas trees in all their splendor. One of my favorite things to do every year is to remove each ornament from its box and recall when, where and how we acquired it. We are like the ornaments on God’s Christmas tree. Regardless of how many He has, our Heavenly Father knows the when, where, and how each of us was welcomed...
