One of the many big surprises in this month's surprising election was the Democrats' failure to overturn Republican majorities in state legislatures. Various Democratic committees budgeted $88 million to flip majorities in big states such as Texas, Florida and North Carolina. Total gains: zero. That's a bad return on lavish investments in money and psychic energy. Liberals have been bemoaning partisan redistricting as a betrayal of democracy, as politicians removing choice from the people. Such rhetoric is overheated and ahistorical. Those who have followed redistricting since the Supreme Court's equal population decisions in 1964, as I have, know that redistricting...

You have "no constitutional right to walk around without a mask," says the Republican governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan. You'll invariably hear such declarative statements as a line of defense by those who support government mask mandates. The problem with such statements is that they are a response to the wrong question. You see, the salient question is not about which individual rights have been so granted by the powers of government (the Founders were clear that God, not government, grants rights to citizens), but about how the powers of government are limited by the Constitution. In short, the question...

Of note, Pres. Trump said in today's press conference that dealing with the election fraud may be the most important thing he's ever done. Joe Biden is currently negotiating for a get out of jail card for him and his family. So are the others. The window to carry off this crime has closed. Schiff, Pelosi etc are compromised veteran crooks. Believe it or not, but I think it's Kamala Harris. She's an opportunist, extremely ruthless and cynical, disloyal, happy to switch positions and allies at a moment's notice.

The ultimate outcome of the 2020 presidential election may have less to do with who wins than how he wins. Some, if not all, of the unique characteristics that define the country symbolized by the statue of "Liberty enlightening the world" are themselves on trial, and the nation and a watching world await the verdict. Millions of people do not agree with the allegations that the election is over, that a clear winner emerged, and that the vote totals delivered a convincing mandate. The legal procedures for declaring the winner of a presidential election in the United States of America...

The Amy Coney Barrett confirmation is already yielding dividends. – In yet another decision in which compromised Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the three communists in the court, Justice Amy Coney Barrett provided the winning margin in a decision that tosses out some of Andrew Cuomo’s draconian attacks in religious freedoms in the state of New York. Justice Barrett also was able to author the majority, 5-4 decision that rolls back Cuomo’s absurd restrictions that limits church attendance to as few as 10 people in certain parts of the state. From a story at Daily Wire: In a 5-4...

Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring has fired the latest salvo in America’s assault on meritocracy: a 61-page opinion holding that the suburban Loudoun County school system discriminated against black and Hispanic youngsters because its selective-admission high school, the Academies of Loudon, hadn’t admitted enough of them. Never mind that—as Mr. Herring acknowledged—the school’s test-based admissions process is open to all and fairly managed. Because its results have a “disparate impact,” the school system must scrap it. Nationwide, selective-admission public schools, also known as “exam schools,” are under attack because the demographics of their student populations don’t match those of their...

Crisis actors are actors (or role players) portraying a victim during emergency training exercises for first responders. Their purpose is to simulate a real crisis, a dress rehearsal for the real thing where victims will be covered with real blood rather than red stage blood. American governors, and other politicians, are a new version of crisis actors, proclaiming a crisis and offering draconian solutions and mandates, but when not acting, after removing their costumes and make up, they are contradicting the dictates of their contrived crises. Ahead of the holidays, as President Trump is digging out from under an avalanche...

Brahim Mokkadem, who attempted to run over three French gendarmerie officers in 2015, has been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison. In court, Mokkadem claimed that he had wanted to end his own life as he was in debt after losing €15,000 in gambling, and decided on July 1st, 2015, to ram his car into a gendarmerie vehicle that was accompanying firefighters attending a brush fire. “There were people around. I didn’t want to take people with me,” he told the court when asked why he chose to ram the Ford Focus rather than the heavier fire truck...

Coronavirus cases are rising in almost every U.S. state. But the surge is worst now in places where leaders neglected to keep up forceful virus containment efforts or failed to implement basic measures like mask mandates in the first place, according to a New York Times analysis of data from the University of Oxford. Using an index that tracks policy responses to the pandemic, these charts show the number of new virus cases and hospitalizations in each state relative to the state’s recent containment measures.

America is on the verge of sanctioning a socialist takeover of the greatest government ever established on the face of the Earth. What are we doing about it? Are we in solidarity with our president, or are we tacitly admitting defeat in the midst of the battle? Are conservatives who criticize the president's legal team, as Rush Limbaugh did, helping the president or the insurgents? Are those who say Georgia is now our only hope, the Senate our last chance, encouraging patriots or the enemy? The subliminal message is that we've already lost the White House, so the Senate is...

The blast happened around 5 pm local time At least 17 people were killed when two explosions on Tuesday rocked a busy market in Afghanistan’s Bamyan province, a central region that has until now been considered the country’s safest. The blast happened around 5pm local time with provincial spokesperson Latif Azimi saying that civilians were deliberately targeted in the neighbourhood, which is home mostly to the Shia minority of Hazara people.“Local people were working and shopping in the area, many were on their way home. There wasn’t any military nearby,” he told The Telegraph. No group has yet claimed the attack, but...

It’s just the flu, bro. https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3909872/posts Nice to see Supreme Court success at removing restrictions on religious institutions in NY. - Freepers keep coming here saying it is more than the flu. This is NOT more than the flu. Even if we accept the fake death tolls then this is not more than the WWI Spanish flu and on par with the Asian and Hong Kong flus of 1957 and 1968. Additionally, if you consider human years lost then this is very mild as it doesn’t really kill young healthy people. I repeat - this is not more than the...

The Pfizer Corporation announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form and this new product will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of cocktails, highballs and just a good old-fashioned stiff drink. Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO. Thought for the day...There is more money being spent on...

One must read to the end of The Washington Post's editorial, "Abolish the electoral college," before hitting on the real reason the Post's editors want to upend the long-standing constitutional institution. "Mr. Trump's election was a sad event for the nation," notes the Post, "his reelection would have been a calamity." Maybe, maybe not. That's a matter of partisan perspective. Those who are genuinely concerned about the future of American governance would be calling to strengthen institutions that provide political stability, not destroy them. But when your concerns about "American democracy" are really just a euphemism for partisan power grabs,...

Good Morning! The meal leftovers are in the fridge, until later today. The big Tyson event looms. The newsmedia continues feeding its pablum, unchecked. The Democrats continue counting their eggs, unhatched. The Republicans are quite silent. The stimulus carrot on a stick check dropped, having worked its election magick. Former VP Biden slips further into the "He Has No Clothes" tailorshop. And all the while ... Trump is still yo' Prez-dent!
