BEIJING — China’s Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng said Thursday he hopes the next U.S. administration will take steps to work with the Asian country. As the world waits for news on who will become the next U.S. president, Le said he hoped the election would proceed stably and smoothly. “The Chinese attitude on China-U.S. relations is clear and consistent,” the report said, citing Le. “Although there are disagreements between China and the U.S., there is vast room for mutual benefit and cooperation. (I) hope the new U.S. administration will meet China halfway.” That approach would include “upholding a principle...

According to so-called voting totals, Joe Biden is the most popular presidential candidate in the history of this nation. His vote totals have surpassed both of Barack Obama’s runs by millions. But there are very good reasons to doubt that this is actually the case. One anecdotal reason popped across my Twitter stream tonight.

  • Massive number of Republican ballots missing in Pennsylvania?

    11/05/2020 12:15:56 AM PST · by dangus · 54 replies
U.S. Election Project's Early Voting Statistics reports that as of Election Day, Republicans had returned 586,336 ballots and had yet to return 202,109 ballots. (Even here, the number of unreturned Republican ballots is in gross disproportion to the overall number of unreturned ballots.) Source: https://electproject.github.io/Early-Vote-2020G/PA.html The Pennsylvania Secretary of State's office reports only 472,098 votes for Trump by mail-in ballots. Source: https://www.electionreturns.pa.gov/# This means that Republicans got 114,000 fewer votes than they had mail-in ballots... let alone all the Independent ballots! Biden also got fewer votes than Democratic ballots returned, but the gap is much, much smaller... about 20,000... rather...

At some point or another, we all have experienced that joyful sensation when our favorite song comes on the radio. It can change your whole mood, especially when “that moment” in every song hits and sends chills down your spine. So what causes this hair-raising jolt to the system? French researchers say studies on the brain reveal many people go into pleasure overload when their favorite tunes start playing. Researcher Thibault Chabin and a team at the Université de Bourgogne Franche-Comté examined the brains of 18 people who regularly get these chills when listening to music. After answering a questionnaire...

This was an idea floated by a freind of mine on Facebook: If I was the GOP leader with 214 or so votes, I'd have my caucus nominate AOC as Speaker and provide a bloc vote. You know she'd get at least four votes. And this'll make the rats all eat each other. The days are over when we could find a "conservative" Democrat to support. Lipinski and Peterson are gone. Republicans need to be ruthless, and Alinskyite. Make the Democratic Party have to deal with this nut in charge. We have the Senate to stop them from doing nutty...

Why is Earth pulsating every 26 seconds, and why canÂ’t scientists explain it after 60 years? This is an enigma wrapped in a periodically predictable mystery motion. It could be a harmonic phenomenon, a regular seismic chirp caused by the sunÂ’s energy, or a beacon drawing scientists to its source to begin a treasure hunt. âž¡ The world is weird. We'll show you how it works. In the early 1960s, a geologist named Jack Oliver first documented the pulse, also known as a "microseism," according to Discover. Oliver, who worked at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory at the time, heard...

BlazeTV host Steve Deace is fired up about what he calls a "fake election." He joined the Glenn Beck Radio Program Wednesday, to explain why he believes a stolen election could bring our nation to Civil War and how we might be watching the beginning stages of a political coup. "What's happening here, is the same people that brought you fake news, fake Russian collusion, fake rape allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, fake Ukrainian collusion, fake ... doomsday models, and fake polls, have now brought you a fake election. This isn't about numbers and it's not about specifics. This is the...

My favorite definition of a cynic: a premature realist. Today we are all cynics or damn well should be. Show me an American who trusts politicians, polls, news organizations and social media bigs who fancy themselves our new masters and I’ll show you a fool. Regarding the forecasts of how the election would go, Casey Stengel’s line about the hapless 1962 Mets fits the moment: “Can’t anybody here play this game?” As we stand on the smoking ruins of shattered predictions, the answer is no, a thousand times no. The usual suspects are bumblers — and that’s being kind because...

An estimated 1.7 million New Yorkers have had COVID-19 — six times the official count, a study released Tuesday suggests. Researchers from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai also found the coronavirus was circulating through the five boroughs “long before” the first recorded case, the study published in Nature states. “We now know there were many asymptomatic and mild to moderate cases that likely went undetected,” Dr. Emilia Mia Sordillo, an attending physician in infectious diseases at the medical school and a senior author on the paper, said in a news release. Researchers found plasma containing COVID-19 antibodies...
