Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Lambs, Sheep, and Shepherds. Exodus 8The Plague of Gnats 16 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground,’ and throughout the land of Egypt the dust will become gnats.” 17 They did this, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with the staff and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came on people and animals. All the dust throughout the land of Egypt became gnats. 18 But when the magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, they could not. Since the gnats...

I recently argued that the toss-up states may be different from what media and pollsters present and what you think. Based my view from the 2016 results, I have the race at 231 electoral votes for President Trump, 183 electoral votes for Mr. Biden, and 124 electoral votes as toss-ups. This implies that there are several paths to 270 electoral votes for a Trump victory. The Blue Wall Falls Again If, as in the last time, President Trump sweeps Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, he will have 277 electoral votes. This is without Trump carrying Florida or blue wall holdout Minnesota. In fact,...

"A normal life — that's all we want, a normal life." That was President Trump's message one Monday evening in Sanford, and the following Friday in Ocala, Florida. He repeated the idea in Carson City, Nevada: "Normal life, that's all we want. We want normal life." Normalcy may seem an unlikely theme for a re-election campaign, but it's one that strikes a chord in 2020, which has clearly not been a normal year. The fallout from the coronavirus has killed 220,000 Americans; locked down our economy; and forced people around the world to practice social distancing, wear masks, and work...

You can call me Pollyannish, but I am beginning to believe I may have underestimated the silent Trump vote in my previous posts. This is why. I mentioned the 2020 Cato Institute poll before, which discusses the high percentage of conservatives who are afraid to express their political views. Something I failed to consider was: Nearly twoâ€â€‹thirds of Latino Americans (65%) and White Americans (64%) and nearly half of African Americans (49%) have political views they are afraid to share. Why would 65% of Latin voters and 49% of Black voters be afraid to express their political views, especially if...

It is a squeeze to reduce the number of logically indisputable reasons why President Trump should be reelected to a single column, but I will attempt it. Reelection is the only way of restoring the conditions that Trump created that eliminated unemployment prior to the onset of the COVID-19 crisis. This, coupled to his near-elimination of illegal immigration (against fierce Democratic resistance), generated greater percentage income growth amongst the lowest 20 percent of income-earners than among the top 10 percent — a noteworthy start on addressing the universal income-disparity problem. Only a Trump victory will ensure retention of the present...

Early in the final debate, President Trump made a comment, almost an aside, about his personal battle with COVID-19 that the media have largely ignored but that could have considerable impact on the election results. "I got better very fast," Trump said, "and now they say I'm immune. Whether it's four months or a lifetime, nobody's been able to say that, but I'm immune." The next night at a rally at The Villages, a Florida retirement community, Trump reiterated his claim that his medical team has declared him immune to COVID. From that day on, Trump has repeated this message to...

Republicans cut more than one percentage point off of the Democrats' early voting lead in NC yesterday. The Democrat EV lead was cut to roughly 285K, as Republicans net-gained just under 16K votes yesterday. Dem--1,493,832--(38.62%)--(+70K votes) Rep--1,208,633--(30.92%)--(+85.5K votes) Una--1,146,929--(29.65%)--(+78K votes) The black share of the early vote electorate dropped for the 4th straight day, from 20.06% to 19.78%. Interestingly, "unaffiliated" voters out-voted Democrats yesterday. As I have noted many times, in 2016, Democrats LOST NC despite having a 310K early vote lead going into election day. Republicans are on pace to cut the Dem lead down to around 230K--ish. Democrats...

Researchers studying the coronavirus and its genetic mutations revealed in a study a genetic mutation that originated in farmworkers in Spain may have contributed to the second wave in Europe, a report said. The Financial Times reported scientists are working to determine what role, if any, variant 20A.EU1 could play in disease's transmission or lethality. Scientists are looking at the mutation's possible effect on the virus' “spike protein." The variant was found in cases across the continent, including more than 80 percent in Spain, the paper reported. The report pointed out the study has not been published in a peer-reviewed...

The U.S. economy grew at a record-shattering pace in the third quarter as businesses reopened from the coronavirus shutdown, but the nation remains in a deep hole from the COVID-induced recession. Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of goods and services produced across the economy, surged by 33.1% on an annualized basis in the three-month period from July through September, the Commerce Department said in its first reading of the data Thursday. The previous post-World War II record was a 16.7% increase in 1950. Refinitiv economists expected the report to show the economy had expanded by 31%.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC) tweeted an ominous message to “expand the court” following the successful confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. Barrett was sworn in as the newest Supreme Court justice following a 52-48 vote. Clarence Thomas administered the constitutional oath to her Monday night. In a short response, AOC (D-NY) wrote: “Expand the court.” She followed up with another message claiming Republicans actions in carrying out their Constitutional duty was a form of “bullying” and that her party needed to play dirty in response.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed off on a bill that will release thousands of inmates early beginning the day after Election Day. Murphy endorsed the legislation on Oct. 19, paving the way for an estimated 2,088 prisoners to walk out of prison on Nov. 4, NJ Advance Media reported. About 1,000 more inmates are set to be released ahead of schedule through January of 2021. The early releases are expected to reduce the state’s prison population by as much as 20 percent, The New York Times reported.

RICHMOND, Texas (KTRK) - A Texas woman is in trouble with her homeowner’s association because of her skeleton strip club Halloween decorations, a theme that’s being called “inappropriate.” Angela Nava posed her Halloween skeletons as adult entertainers and eager patrons at a skeletal strip club. She says all the feedback she’d gotten has been positive until the homeowner’s association sent her a letter calling the display “inappropriate” and asking her to take it down. ... Nava says she was given until mid-November to remove the skeletons, which is fine by her. She planned to take them down after Halloween anyway....

If Americans can agree on anything in this election between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden, it's this: We can't stand the other side. And each tribe loathes the other with absolute passion, as hatred and threats of revenge hang in the air. This is where newly sworn-in Associate Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett comes in. And also President Trump, who kept his promise to the American people to appoint constitutional originalists to the high court. Because if there's anything that can keep the republic together, it's reverence and respect for the Constitution, and Supreme Court justices who don't...
