It’s been just over a month since I last updated Missouri’s COVID numbers here — and it’s been an erratic one at that. There was the single-day gargantuan leap in reported tests (from September 30 to October 1, Missouri reported (per Worldometers) an increase in tests of — get this — 564,236!) followed by the four days last week when the DHSS website/COVID dashboard was down due to a “database extraction error“. The headlines from the Post Dispatch (and other local news sources) of late have been all about how we’re hitting record-high numbers of new cases and hospitalizations and...

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday charged Google with illegally maintaining a monopoly on search and search advertising, teeing off a legal battle likely to take years and send shockwaves across Silicon Valley. The lawsuit, filed in District of Columbia federal court, is the result of a year-long investigation into concentrations of economic power in the online economy. The DOJ argues that Google has entered into exclusionary contracts with phone makers to preload its search engine onto devices using Alphabet’s Android operating system. Those contracts have allowed Google to maintain a monopoly while stifling competition and innovation, the suit...

On Tuesday morning Rudy Giuliani told Steve Bannon on The War Room that MAJOR documents will drop tomorrow on criminal activity by the Biden family. The evidence will include non-financial criminal activity!Rudy Giuliani: We’re going to do both. There will be more financial criminal activity, more proof on the subjects we already have and even bigger deals that are eye-popping. And some personal conduct that has to be brought to the attention of the public to make sure people are safe. And that has to be handled appropriately before it can be discussed. Steve Bannon: Do you believe that personal...

Far-left Politico released a report yesterday claiming the Hunter Biden laptop story is Russian disinformation. What can you say… Politico writes: More than 50 former senior intelligence officials have signed on to a letter outlining their belief that the recent disclosure of emails allegedly belonging to Joe Biden’s son “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”The letter, signed on Monday, centers around a batch of documents released by the New York Post last week that purport to tie the Democratic nominee to his son Hunter’s business dealings. Under the banner headline “Biden Secret E-mails,” the Post reported...

Greece’s government says it has finalized plans to build a wall along its northeast border with Turkey, over concerns that migrants may try to stage mass crossings into the European Union country. Government spokesman Stelios Petsas said Monday that 26 kilometers (16 miles) of wall would be added to an existing 10-kilometer (six-mile) section of fence in a 63-million-euro ($74 million) project due to be completed by the end of April... Police officials on Monday told The Associated Press that a surveillance camera network was also planned to cover the entire 192-kilometer (120-mile) Greek-Turkish border, while police have already started...

Joe Biden keeps claiming to be a centrist Democrat. Polls show that, while most realize that President Donald Trump would be better for our economy than Biden, many think that old Uncle Joe's economic plan is relatively harmless and won't endanger jobs, paychecks or retirement savings. Think again. Let's look at what's actually in Biden's economic plan so everyone has their eyes wide open when they vote. I've read the whole thing. There is nothing centrist in this economic scheme. In many ways, it is the most radical plan proposed by a major presidential nominee of either party in any...

Is there anything less shocking than MSNBC analyst Michael Steele endorsing Biden for president? In August, the former Republican Party chairman joined the so-called Lincoln Project. But on Tuesday's Morning Joe, they came out of a commercial break and aired a kooky Lincoln Project commercial (gratis?) that explicitly compared Biden to Abraham Lincoln, and compared Trump's supposed refusal to concede power to.... a Lincoln assassination plot? STEELE: Imagine that night. Tensions high. A nation torn apart. A plot here in Baltimore City to assassinate a newly-elected president on his way to inauguration. And to plunge the country into chaos. Abraham...

Narcissist Dr. Anthony Fauci is terrorizing the public again with endless media appearances. Rather than talk about medicines that can cure the coronavirus, like those given to President Trump, he is peddling fear by talking about 300,000 to 400,000 deaths. He pushes his favorite solutions, namely masks and lockdowns. Leftist media can’t get enough Fauci. [Interestingly, he is the highest-paid federal employee with a salary of $417,608 versus $400,000 for the president.] There is some mystery about why hospitalized President Trump was infused with the dubious, ultra-expensive medicine remdesivir and an experimental antibodies medicine. Why not use hydroxychloroquine? He previously took...

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump portrays the hundreds of people arrested nationwide in protests against racial injustice as violent urban left-wing radicals. But an Associated Press review of thousands of pages of court documents tell a different story. Very few of those charged appear to be affiliated with highly organized extremist groups, and many are young suburban adults from the very neighborhoods Trump vows to protect from the violence in his reelection push to win support from the suburbs.

An international group of researchers believe there is enough evidence that anti-malarial drugs could be repurposed to treat COVID-19 and that they should be assessed for efficacy in clinical trials. The review article, published online in Trends in Parasitology, outlines the evidence for the antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties of certain anti-malarial drugs that could play a role in tackling COVID-19. The research group, from institutions across Europe, Asia and Africa, point to a combination of the drugs artesunate and pyronaridine as the most promising. Both drugs have demonstrated antiviral effects on the SARS-CoV-2 virus in human lung cells in laboratory...

U.S.—Health experts across the globe are recommending a new strategy for maximizing your social distance: attending a Joe Biden rally. Officials say there's no better place to be miles away from most other humans. "When you attend a Joe Biden rally, you're very unlikely to get infected, since, you know, there's no one else there," said one CDC official. "We've found that Trump rallies are super-spreader events since there's a ton of people. Biden rallies are great for stopping the virus. You just stand in the middle of a field while an old guy shouts from a podium hundreds of...

New York’s “red zone” coronavirus restrictions will be adjusted this week to make them more tailored to each area’s needs, Gov. Cuomo announced Monday, as infection rates in the hotspots continued to drop. In a conference call with reporters, Cuomo said the changes will be unveiled Wednesday — roughly two weeks after the color-coded shutdowns of schools and non-essential businesses were first implemented in parts of southern Brooklyn, central Queens, Rockland County, Orange County and some areas of upstate.

Shawn Steffee was at a political function in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, last Thursday evening when he started receiving an overwhelming number of calls and text messages. “My phone started going off like a slot machine. Initially, I had no idea what was going on,” he said from his home in Homer City. Steffee, a Boilermakers Local 154 business agent and executive board member, soon found the flood of texts and calls were because Joe Biden lied about Steffee and his union supporting him during the ABC News town hall event last week. Host George Stephanopoulos noted Steffee by name in...

(WWJ) Rob Cortis' Trump Unity Bridge, a traveling bridge-turned-billboard supporting President Donald Trump, was stolen and smashed on a trip to Oklahoma, he reported. Cortis stopped at an Embassy Suites Aug. 28 in Tulsa, Okla., while hauling the 30-foot behemoth that carries messages about loving Trump when it was suddenly driven away from the hotel. Police gave chase to the driver -- who frankly would have been impossible to miss on the freeway -- and he eventually crashed the SUV hauling the bridge into a median. The man fled, but was caught. Cortis, of Livonia, told WWJ Newsradio he was...

Bevan Cooney, a jailed ex-associate of Hunter Biden, seems to be cooperating with conservative journalists at One America News. “New details emerge surrounding Hunter Biden’s dealings with foreign powers. Jack Posobiec sat down with investigative journalist Matthew Tiermann to get the full story.” “We’re in the final stages of the 2020 campaign and October surprises are in the air. One such October surprise has arrived here to One America News courtesy of a trove of emails relating to Hunter Biden, the son of presidential candidate Joe Biden, and his business partners.”

This case is not about one particular law, but the rule of law. California Assemblymen Kevin Kiley and James Gallagher are suing to stop California Governor Gavin Newsom’s “one man rule.” Kiley and Gallagher filed their most recent Trial Brief, and Gov. Gavin Newsom filed his. The trial will take place Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in Sutter County. The Michigan Supreme Court recently struck down the 1945 law that Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been using to keep the state in lockdown since April. And in September, a federal judge in Pennsylvania ruled that Governor Tom Wolf’s lockdown orders were unconstitutional,...

Stéphane Bancel, chief executive of Moderna Inc., said Monday that the federal government could grant emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine in December, assuming the company gets promising data from its Phase 3 trial in November. Moderna started its final-phase trial with 30,000 volunteers in July, and in order to apply for emergency authorization, 53 of the subjects have to become infected with the new coronavirus, and the cases have to be significantly higher in the half of the trial that received a placebo. That first analysis will likely happen in November, Bancel said at a Wall Street Journal...
