Canada's government is set to announce a ban on assault-style weapons following a deadly shooting in Nova Scotia this month that killed 22 people. Among the weapons set to be banned include the AR-15 and the Ruger Mini-14. It wasn't initially clear whether Canadian citizens who currently own such weapons will be required to turn them in.

Cooper, author of the 'Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower,' began her Tuesday thread by asserting that most black people did not want the country to reopen and understood to...

More than 230 years ago, the Founding Fathers of our Nation crafted a revolutionary and unique form of Government rooted in the rule of law. Today, we continue to enjoy liberty, justice, and equality under the law as set forth and preserved in our Constitution. On Law Day, we celebrate the distinctive framework of our system of Government, which secures individual liberties and protects against arbitrary exercise of government power so that all citizens have the right and the freedom to pursue their American Dream. In arguing for the ratification of our Constitution, James Madison wisely recognized that in a government...

With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the Lord.Lord, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.Lord,...

The Los Angeles Times touted a new media lobbying effort to expand federal ad spending by billions of dollars for local media companies. In a story headlined, “Rocked by coronavirus losses, TV, radio, newspapers seek government ad dollars,” The Times pushed the case for expanded government-funding of media outlets. “Every year the federal government spends around $1 billion in advertising to promote its programs and military recruitment,” The Times said. The outlet also pulled on the heart strings of its readers. It stated how media companies were “financially devastated by the coronavirus outbreak, “even as the hunger for news and information...

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday that he will lift a statewide shelter-in-place order for most of the state’s residents Friday. Kemp will continue requiring elderly and “medically fragile” Georgians to continue sheltering in place through June 12 and allow businesses to keep numerous restrictions in place through May 13, according to the newspaper. The governor told the newspaper he had based his decision on an increase in testing and hospital capacity. “What we’ve done has worked,” he told the Journal-Constitution. “It’s given us time to build our hospital infrastructure capacity, get ventilators and ramp up...

As late as April 2, Gov. Tony Evers (D), backed by Biden, supported holding the election in person as Wisconsin law requires. However, on April 3, Evers changed his mind and asked for the legislature to quickly amend Wisconsin law to allow all voters to vote by mail. The Wisconsin Legislature, which is controlled by Republicans, refused to rush such a last-minute change into law, and thus the media was given a "Republicans are literally killing people" narrative. There's one major problem with that narrative: The in-person voting does not appear to have killed anyone. The state of Wisconsin could identify...

Despite predictions that Wisconsin would see a rise in coronavirus cases due to state and local leadership’s decision to move forward with in-person voting earlier this months, experts have found no evidence that the election contributed to the official count. The story: According to the latest count by state health officials tracking the impact of holding the election, around two dozen people contracted the virus on election day, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Wednesday. However, it is unclear how many, if any, of those people were infected at the polls. “With the data we have, we can’t prove an association....

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” Sen. Lindsey Graham spoke on the latest news showing a “perjury trap” was laid on former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn that ultimately resulted in Flynn taking a plea deal to avoid a harsh prosecution. According to Graham, there was “more coming” in regards to Flynn’s prosecution. “There’s more coming,” he said. “Yes, I think there’s more coming, though. It’s pretty apparent to me that General Flynn was a victim of an out-of-control Department of Justice. He basically got railroaded. It’s pretty wildly known that the Obama administration didn’t have much use for General...

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Protesters rallied again Monday, asking for Governor Ned Lamont to consider reopening the state. “We appreciate his thinking of taking care of us all, but people are suffering right now and they’re not suffering with COVID,” said Marnee Palladino. One of the biggest complaints is they don’t understand why the big box stores can be open while mom and pop shops remain closed. They believe if Lamont does the right thing by reopening the state, people will do the right thing. “It’s unfair that big box stores like Walmart are able to be open while smaller...

Blue state resident here (Virginia). This lockdown was supposed to be only 15 days and then it was extended to 30. But Democrat governors across the country are seemingly extending these lockdowns indefinitely. This is no longer about protecting the health of citizens. Millions of people have lost their jobs and their businesses. It seems the Democrat governors will extend these lockdowns for months. Millions of people want to work and want to get out of their homes but are afraid of being arrested. Can Trump overrule these governors with an EO? Seems crazy that these governors could just close...

...Every day the lockdown continues, its implicit message that we are all going to die if we engage in normal life is reinforced. Polls show an increasing number of Americans opting to continue the economic quarantine indefinitely lest they be ‘unsafe’. The longer that belief is reinforced, the less likely it will be that consumers will patronize reopened restaurants or board airplanes in sufficient numbers to bring the economy back to life.
