Former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) says he will not be casting his vote for President Donald Trump in 2020, citing concerns he had with the president before the 2016 campaign. “I just couldn’t support [Trump] long before he started to run. The birtherism thing was just too much for me. And then it piled on,” Flake, a vocal critic of Trump, told the Washington Post. Flake also warned that a second Trump term could deter younger voters from the GOP, especially on issues concerning the environment and immigration. “So for young people who’ve grown up around minorities or had a...

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday defended former Vice President Joe Biden after a reporter asked if she believed allegations from Tara Reade, a former aide who says the then-senator sexually assaulted her in a secluded part of Capitol Hill in 1993. Gillibrand, who ran for president last year, said she stood by the presumptive Democratic nominee and supported him, noting he had denied the allegations. “So when we say believe women, it’s for this explicit intention of making sure there’s space for all women to come forward to speak their truth, to be heard,” Gillibrand said during a conference...

We know how the COVID-19 pandemic began: Bats near Wuhan, China, hold a mix of coronavirus strains, and sometime last fall one of the strains, opportunistic enough to cross species lines, left its host or hosts and ended up in a person. Then it was on the loose. What no one knows yet is how the pandemic will end. This coronavirus is unprecedented in the combination of its easy transmissibility, a range of symptoms going from none at all to deadly, and the extent that it has disrupted the world. A highly susceptible population led to near exponential growth in...

The Trump-Russia collusion allegations were always a myth. The more we learn about this coordinated effort between Fusion GPS, the Democrats who hired them, and a former MI6 spook, Christopher Steele, hired to compile the now-infamous Trump dossier—the more shambolic it looks. Steele’s work was the basis for the conspiracy theories that engulfed the American news media for two years. There were memos about some dirt the Russians had on Trump which could be weaponized for blackmail. It was all a fantastic lie. There was no collusion. Not a single shred of evidence came to light and every time there...

**SNIP** The lawsuit challenges Whitmer's executive powers and seeks an immediate injunction. "For the first time in our state's history - indeed, in our nation's history - the state government is mass quarantining healthy people instead of the sick," the lawsuit reads.
