The public safety director at New Orleans’ Ernest N. Morial Convention Center — where officials are erecting a makeshift hospital for patients infected with COVID-19 — stole 80 masks recommended for healthcare workers battling the deadly disease and was arrested Friday, according to court records.

A tiger at the Bronx Zoo has tested positive for COVID-19, the zoo said Sunday. Nadia, a 4-year-old female Malayan tiger, tested positive for the virus while her sister Azul, two Amur tigers and three African lions developed a dry cough, the zoo said in a release. Boeing will continue indefinitely its shutdown of local factory operations rather than reopening Wednesday as planned, it told Washington state employees Sunday via email. “Boeing is extending the temporary suspension of operations at all Puget Sound area and Moses Lake sites until further notice,” the company told employees. Boeing has about roughly 70,000 employees in the state. The decision affects about 30,000 of them, mostly production workers.
