... Only hours before Sunday’s debate, Mr. Biden’s campaign announced that he is “adopting Senator Sanders’ proposal”—from a bill Mr. Sanders sponsored in 2017—to fund tuition-free college for families who earn under $125,000 a year. This probably would cost hundreds of billions of dollars over a decade. It could devastate private colleges and liberal arts schools. It would banish economic incentives, forcing universities to compete, more than they already do, over whose climbing wall is the gnarliest. Lest Elizabeth Warren feel left out, Mr. Biden is adopting her plan “to fundamentally reshape our bankruptcy system.” To pick two of her...

Their test, described in a preprint paper released today, looks for tell-tale antibodies to the coronavirus in people’s blood,...

by Rod Thomson President Trump just announced a $1 trillion stimulus package. Democrats will greatly lard it up in Congress. I have severe reservations. Given everything we have ever known about how Congress and D.C. works, a “stimulus” package that would chuck $1 trillion at industries and people over the next month or so sounds like a perfect disaster. Remember, all of it, like the obscene overspending we’ve been happily skipping along with, comes from our children’s pockets. That’s immoral. First, a reminder for Congress and the White House that money doesn’t grow on trees and we’ve already been spending...

Still, the bill was approved 90-8 with overwhelming bipartisan support. The sliver of GOP opposition feared that the legislation would put undue financial burdens on small businesses and raise the deficit amid economic downturn from...
