Under steady snowfall at the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race restart in Willow last Sunday, veteran musher Matthew Failor's dog, Cool Cat, snuggled inside his warm trailer. "She's kind of my spirit animal," Failor said, before giving her a pre-race kiss. He said he was excited about racing to Nome with Cool Cat this year. He wanted to bring her last year, but she was pregnant with a litter of puppies during the 2019 Iditarod. At 9 years old, Failor said Cool Cat is the "matriarch" of his kennel. She's a good lead dog, but she's also like a pet...

MADRID -- Spain’s government said Saturday that the wife of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has tested positive for the new coronavirus. It said Begoña Gómez and the prime minister are in good health and following the instructions of medical authorities at their residence in La Moncloa Palace in Madrid, the government seat. Two ministers of Sánchez’s Cabinet, the minister of equality and the minister of regional affairs, had already tested positive earlier this week. The government said both are in good health as well.

A report cited by Fox News found that more than 6,000 Christians have been slaughtered by Islamic terrorists since 2015 — a thousand of them in just 2019. "It is... genocide.... the longer we tolerate these massacres, the more we embolden the perpetrators. We give them a 'green light' to carry on killing." — Baroness Caroline Cox, Fox News, December 24, 2019, Nigeria. "Christian Syrian refugees ... have been blocked from getting help from the United Nations Refugee Agency... by Muslim UN officials in Jordan." "You have this absurd situation where the scheme is set up to help Syrian refugees...

Let me say this just as plainly as I can – if you are buying up large quantities of toilet paper and hand sanitizer to sell at ten times what you paid for it to people suffering from the coronavirus, you are a miserable human being. And if you are filling your carts with far more than what the actual needs of you and your family are, you are only slightly less disgusting. This is shameful behavior for any American to display, but for someone who calls themselves a Christian to hoard and stockpile beyond your needs? Repent, hoarder, repent....

The mainstream media always seems to be in amazement when they find out that the American people don't trust them. In fact, when President Donald Trump said the media is the enemy of the people, folks at MSNBC and CNN took it personally, as if the statement wasn't true. Time and time again, we see leftist media personalities say outlandish things and Sunday morning was no exception. MSNBC analyst Eric Boehlert claimed, "Fox News has been getting people killed for years." He made the comment during a segment on the Wuhan coronavirus when host Joy Reid pointed to an opinion...

JACKSON, MI – A drive-through screening station for COVID-19 is being operated in Jackson. Henry Ford Allegiance Health began the screenings station for the disease created by the new coronavirus Saturday, March 14, on the surface lot of One Jackson Square, 100 E. Michigan Ave. Participants stay in their cars for screening, which helps limit potential exposure to the virus, the hospital system said in a news release. “We have the masks, the goggles, the protective wear and protective gloves,” Dr. Pamela Hackert said. The drive-through starts with screening questions to determine if samples should be taken, Hackert said. Participants...

Fear of the coronavirus has led to a run on hand sanitizer supplies leaving store shelves empty of the product. In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) announced that inmates in the state's prisons are now producing hand sanitizer at a cost of only $6.10 per gallon. Contender for the Democratic presidential nomination Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt) hailed this as "a model for how we take profiteering out of the process of meeting the needs of the people. Instead of allowing billionaires to rip off their customers we'll put them to work while they are behind bars. We'll convert them...

President Trump said Sunday that he is “strongly considering” a full pardon for his former national security adviser Michael Flynn. “So now it is reported that, after destroying his life & the life of his wonderful family (and many others also), the FBI, working in conjunction with the Justice Department, has ‘lost’ the records of General Michael Flynn,” he tweeted. “How convenient. I am strongly considering a Full Pardon!” he added. Flynn pleaded guilty in December 2017 for lying to the FBI about his communications with the Russian ambassador. SNIP Trump Tweet

Prompted by concerns over the spreading novel coronavirus, public libraries in both the the city and county of Los Angeles were closed Saturday, and expected to remain shut down through the end of the month. Both the Los Angeles Public Library and the Los Angeles County Library announced this weekend that all locations are to be closed through March 31. And both libraries said in written statements that due dates would be extended and fines would not be levied during the closure, allowing guests to return materials once the branches reopen. “We understand the impact closing libraries has on all...

SAN DIEGO -- Pechanga Resort Casino and San Manuel Casino said Saturday they will both close temporarily in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The two Southern California casinos announced the closures as parks, businesses and other community attractions shut down in a widespread effort to prevent further spread of the virus. Pechanga's closure begins at noon on Monday and will last through the end of March, leaders with the Pechanga Indian Reservation said. "As a Tribal Government and major employer of thousands of people, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close Pechanga Resort Casino for the health and...

George Washington's military genius is undisputed. Yet American independence must be partially attributed to a strategy for which history has given the infamous general little credit: his controversial medical actions. Traditionally, the Battle of Saratoga is credited with tipping the revolutionary scales. Yet the health of the Continental regulars involved in battle was a product of the ambitious initiative Washington began earlier that year at Morristown, close on the heels of the victorious Battle of Princeton. Among the Continental regulars in the American Revolution, 90 percent of deaths were caused by disease, and Variola the small pox virus was the...

TORKHAM, Pakistan — Above the trucks and travelers lining up at the main eastern gateway between Afghanistan and Pakistan, a glinting new landmark scales the dun-colored mountains: Parallel mesh fences, a couple of feet apart and topped with coils of razor wire, climb from the border crossing up over the dizzying crags. The section of fence overlooking Torkham is just a glimpse of a 1,600-mile barrier begun four years ago by Pakistan’s military and set to be completed this year. Nearly 9,000 miles from President Trump’s border wall with Mexico, Pakistan has quietly been building its own version to try...

Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined forces on Saturday night to scold Americans who went to bars and restaurants amid the coronavirus outbreak. Ocasio-Cortez reacted to reports in New York City of people leaving their homes to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day weekend in bars and restaurants. She wrote: To everyone in NYC but ESPECIALLY healthy people & people under 40 (bc from what I’m observing that’s who needs to hear this again): PLEASE stop crowding bars, restaurants, and public spaces right now. Eat your meals at home. If you are healthy, you could be spreading COVID. What...

As a small business owner providing a discretionary home-improvement service I am hyper-focused on how corona could absolutely decimate small businesses, from landscaping to retail to restaraunts and so much more. My observations, (I'm located in Central Ohio), are as follows. First, I am entering what is typically my busiest time of year. As soon as 2 weeks ago business was looking record strong for the coming year. Appointments and sold jobs were almost double what they were same time last year. Then last week everything went from rush to trickle. So far, somehow, I've managed to actually still get...

No surprise to see Chuck Todd hosting Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker (D) this morning to fault the Trump administration for long lines at O'Hare International Airport where returning passengers were being screened for exposure to the CVID-18 virus. Pritzker, who makes Sydney Greenstreet look svelte, is nothing more than a reliable mouthpiece for the Democrats who suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that is vaccine resistant. It is hilarious to consider the hypocrisy of Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot decrying the shortage of Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers at O'Hare Airport given...

Today, Sunday, is a National Day of Prayer to help fight the Wuhan coronavirus. Those who do not have faith (and even some who do) have been ridiculing the President and those who adhere to Judeo-Christian faiths ever since he announced on Friday that we should pray because we are a nation that “has looked to God for protection and strength in times like these.” He is absolutely correct on both major points. We have historically been a nation that has turned to God to help us through our troubles and it can be an effective way to fight not...

During an interview on Sunday, NBC's Chuck Todd asked Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, about the need for Americans across the nation to undergo a lockdown, particularly because some states and areas are making people self-quarantine while others are not. "Are you risking something if not everybody is following the same guidelines?" Todd asked."No, Chuck," Fauci replied. "You always wanna be ahead of the curve. The golden rule that I say Is that when you think you're doing too much you're probably doing enough or not enough. That's the thing you...

President Trump said he is seriously considering a pardon for former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn. “So now it is reported that, after destroying his life & the life of his wonderful family (and many others also), the FBI, working in conjunction with the Justice Department, has 'lost' the records of General Michael Flynn. How convenient. I am strongly considering a Full Pardon!” Trump tweeted on Sunday. Flynn, 61, pleaded guilty in December 2017 for lying to investigators about his conversations with then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, and faces possible prison time. After swapping legal teams,...
