Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined forces on Saturday night to scold Americans who went to bars and restaurants amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Ocasio-Cortez reacted to reports in New York City of people leaving their homes to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day weekend in bars and restaurants.
She wrote:
To everyone in NYC but ESPECIALLY healthy people & people under 40 (bc from what I’m observing that’s who needs to hear this again):
PLEASE stop crowding bars, restaurants, and public spaces right now. Eat your meals at home.
If you are healthy, you could be spreading COVID.
What does “crowded” mean?
If you can’t stay 6ft away from other people, it’s too close. In general, when going outside try to stay at least 6 feet away from others as much as you possibly can:
Cruz commended Ocasio-Cortez for her advice, highlighting her comments on Twitter.
“Good advice — not just for NYC, but everywhere,” he wrote. “If you can stay home, stay home. And wash your hands.”

I went to one yesterday evening. I was in no mood to enter a grocery store.
I went to a brewery yesterday and we are going to a small restaurant tonight. Only reason we are going is to help them out during this clown show.
Right now, I’m having a chicken and green chili burrito topped with fries. Good stuff.
