AMC Theaters says fewer people will be allowed into its movie theaters through April during the coronavirus outbreak. In Bakersfield, this means fewer viewers in theaters at the AMC on California Avenue. AMC says it’s capping ticket sales to 50% capacity or no more than 250 people at larger theaters. The policy at AMC Theaters lasts until April 30.

The coronavirus pandemic has prompted officials a number of Southern California schools to shut down beginning Monday in hopes of slowing the outbreak. Among those involved in the closure is the Los Angeles Unified School District, the nation's second-largest school district.
