AMC Theaters says fewer people will be allowed into its movie theaters through April during the coronavirus outbreak.
In Bakersfield, this means fewer viewers in theaters at the AMC on California Avenue.
AMC says its capping ticket sales to 50% capacity or no more than 250 people at larger theaters.
The policy at AMC Theaters lasts until April 30.
I am not in favor of closing movie theaters...
I don’t think they’re going to have to worry about limiting capacity.
Not with the low quality movies Hollywood has been putting out lately...
Given the dud movies that are being produced, I think you are correct.
Ehhh.. let’s see here.. where’s my knife so I can cut my dick off? /s
LOL...are they going to go into the theater and enforce the “every other seat” rule? People will still congregate en masse in the center where the best seats are. What’s the “social distance” between seats?
Exactly.
Not expecting to notice any difference with the attendance before versus after any “limiting”.
Kind of like if ‘Rats say they are limiting attendance at Burn/Bidet rallies.
Don’t impact on me at all, haven’t been to a movie in decades. Not much worth paying good money to see.
Thats probably to comply with governors or mayors edicts.
Governor Holcomb of Indiana banned all groups greater than 250 last week.
Hah! Yep.
That too! Although I did watch Color Out Of Space, which was made in 2020, and I enjoyed it a lot, at my house on my TV.
WOW
The last movie I walked out on was “Machete” and I just looked it up. It came out in 2010.
Deniro and that fossil from Miami Vice killed an illegal woman in the first ten minutes and I left.
You know what? This is fine if they want to do that. But enough with the self-serving press releases creating more and more headlines about drastic steps being taken. It’s whipping up the fear and hysteria and causing the hand-wringing ninnies to run to the grocery stores buy up all the produce. Enough already.
I have never seen Machete. I like Danny Trejo. I know he’s big on Brown Pride and all. I have seen a few Robert Rodriguez movies that I have enjoyed, Sin City being one.
But I am just not into blatant political racism in movies. Maybe this appeals to some people, but not to me.
Hollywood already self-limited most of their audiences by filling their movies full of far-left characters, queers, and druggies.
You would HATE HATE HATE Machete.
I understand one can’t avoid some little political references here and there usually, but a Mexican woman (may have been pregnant, I’m not sure) shot dead in cold blood?
No thanks.
Man did I let the curses fly on the way out :)
Wait, I did see “The Fault in our Stars” in the movies. And I liked it.
Which should scare me :)
Burn/Bidet?
Is the use of Burn/Bidets why there are so many flaming a$$holes?
Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old farts life, it's worth it.
What is with that?
My dad wanted to see The Passion Of The Christ but mom wouldn’t go.
Despite already having seen it twice, I went with him.
We went to a matinee and we were the only two people in the whole theater...until two others came in and literally sat in the seats _right in front of us_.
What gives?
Were they afraid to be “alone” in another aisle?
Really aggravating especially since the taller one naturally sat in front of short me.
No movie theater here in town. Have to drive 50 miles to the nearest city to see a movie in the theater.
