Isreali researchers at Tel Aviv University (TAU) found a molecule that can induce the self-destruction of pancreatic cancer cells. The research was conducted in human pancreatic cancer that was transplanted into mice. The mice were treated with a molecule called PJ34, which affects human cancer cells. This molecule causes an anomaly during the duplication of human cancer cells and prompts their self-destruction, and the treated cells died during their multiplication process. The treatment reduced the number of cancer cells by 90% in the developed tumors a month after it was administered. Pancreatic cancer is resistant to all existing treatments and...

Posted on January 8, 2020January 8, 2020 by Msgr. Charles Pope And Admonition Against Lust From the Book of Proverbs There is a marvelous chapter in the Book of Proverbs that ought to be studied by every young person who must live in this lustful world. It sets forth plainly the stance that any son or daughter of God should have regarding the lust so often celebrated by this age. Many preachers and teachers wince at the Book of Proverbs on this topic since it tends to portray seduction and lust as coming from women. However it must be recalled that...

Officials have begun the process of changing out signs in Glacier National Park in Montana declaring that the glacier would be gone by 2020. Gina Kurzmen, a spokeswoman for the park, said the signs were added more than 10 years ago to reflect the effects of climate change forecasts at the time. They change will more accurately reflect the fate of the glaciers now, she added. The new signs will reportedly read, “When they will completely disappear depends on how and when we act. One thing is consistent: the glaciers in the park are shrinking.” Kurzman said park officials were...

Netflix has been ordered to remove a programme portraying Jesus as a gay man from its streaming service by a Brazilian judge. The film, titled “The First Temptation of Christ,” premiered on Netflix Brazil on Dec. 3 and has since sparked a ton of controversy online for its satire that paints Jesus as a closeted homosexual on Christmas. Bishop Joseph Strickland joined the many Catholic voices deriding the film on social media

Another head coach hiring cycle is about to close, and again the most embarrassing issue concerning the NFL has taken center stage. I don’t say that lightly considering this is a league that has been navigating various clown shows for the better part of two decades. Still, it was striking to see the visceral reaction of many pundits and former players on social media Tuesday once the New York Giants’ decision to hire Joe Judge and the Carolina Panthers’ choice to hire Matt Rhule became public. Both those franchises chose those men to lead their organizations into the future, largely...

Only a mainstream media thatÂ’s been blinded by hatred of Trump could be this disappointed their predictions of all-out war with Iran havenÂ’t come true. The last few days have been an ongoing spectacle of media bias and incompetence in the coverage of the Qassem Suleimani strike and its fallout.Mainstream outlets, suffering mightily from Trump derangement syndrome, practically rooted for a wider conflict with Iran in the hopes it might damage Trump, then evinced genuine disappointment when Iran backed down after half-heartedly lobbing a few short-range ballistic missiles in the direction of U.S. troops stationed in Iraq, which inflicted...

Is belief in God rational? Can it be proved beyond reasonable doubt? The Bible seems to say yes. 'What can be known about God is plain to people,' writes St Paul in Romans 1.19-20, 'because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse.'In this the ancient philosophers agreed, with both Plato and Aristotle holding that the existence of a transcendent God is a matter of solid logical reasoning.Modern thinkers since...

Trump pins some blame on Obama for missile attack. Should he have? During his address to the nation this morning about the situation with Iran, President Trump said the ballistic missiles that targeted two U.S. air bases in Iraq were paid for using “funds made available by the last administration.” This assertion enraged Democrats and their media allies such as the Washington Post.Is their outrage justified? I see two issues here. The first is whether President Trump should be calling out his predecessor, especially at a time when national unity (however slender the hope for it may be) is particularly...

A bad guy, a terrorist with American blood on his hands, was ordered killed by an American President, and the world applauded. This is a fictional scenario, since realistically, American president Donald Trump is jeered instead of cheered. The Democrats and mainstream media would rather see him fail than have America succeed and happily create an atmosphere of fear. James R. Hannibal flew the A-10 Thunderbolt II, the B-2 Spirit (stealth bomber), and the MQ-1 Predator UAV. During that time, he worked numerous classified assignments and spent time as a mission planning cell chief, intelligence liaison, stealth materials liaison, and...

Increasingly impatient Senate Democrats have started speaking out about their desire for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to turn over impeachment articles. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) told Politico that House Democrats “should move on” and send the articles to the Senate. “I think [the trial] needs to start, I really do. I can’t tell the House how to do their business. I would never try to tell Speaker Pelosi … Let us do what we have to do over here,” the red-state Democrat told a Washington Post reporter. He also acknowledged that Pelosi’s holdout did accomplish one thing: pushing former national...

One major point is being overlooked concerning the “impeachment”: now that the impeachment weapon has been unsheathed, and swung, and shattered into myriad pieces without so much as scratching its target, the Dems have absolutely nothing to use against Trump. In fact, it can be doubted that they will ever again have anything to use against Trump. Impeachment is over – Pelosi admitted as much when she issued her pro forma State of the Nation invitation to the President only days after the impeachment vote. She has still failed to present the articles to the Senate, but it’s all anticlimax...

Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly got the idea not to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate from former White House counsel John Dean. The House of Representatives voted to impeach the president on two articles, obstruction of Congress and abuse of power, last month. The speaker has since refused to pass the articles along to the Senate for a trial as she tries to force concessions from the GOP-held chamber led by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Pelosi began "mulling the tactic" of not sending the articles to the Senate after Dean's appearance on Don Lemon's show on CNN on...

America’s original revolutionaries, along with Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, and Martin Luther King Jr., all placed the universalist ideals of the Declaration of Independence at the center of this country’s founding. But that paradigm is under vigorous challenge from The New York Times Magazine. Last summer, the magazine began publishing the 1619 Project, marking the 400th anniversary of enslaved Africans’ arrival in Virginia. In essays, stories, poems, podcast episodes, and more, the Times has grappled with how slavery shaped all that followed.

Tommy Fisher, founder of Fisher Sand & Gravel, is waiting for the chance to prove he can build President Trump’s signature border wall faster and better than the government. But first, the courts have to decide. U.S. District Judge Randy Crane in McAllen, a southern Texas city, is expected on Thursday to decide whether to lift a temporary restraining order against the project to build a privately funded border wall next to the Rio Grande. Dating back to the Secure Fence Act of 2006, the U.S. has largely avoided building right next to the Rio Grande. The meandering river separating...

In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Sen. Rand Paul said the only way you can stop people who believe the president has the ultimate authority on war like Lindsey Graham is defunding a war. Paul was responding to Graham's accusation that he "empowering the enemy" by playing games with the "unconstitutional" War Powers Act. Paul called the Trump administration's reasoning for the Soleimani strike an "insult to the constitution." "I think it's sad when people have this fake sort of drape of patriotism, and anybody that disagrees with them is not a patriot," Paul said Wednesday. "For him to...
