Phishing attempts and suspicious activity were detected on the city's network around 5 a.m., New Orleans chief information officer Kim LaGrue said during a press conference. By 11 a.m., technician investigators detected "a cybersecurity incident" and the city's information technology department began powering down servers and city computers as a precaution, the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness said in a series of tweets. While ransomware was detected, no ransom has been demanded in the cyberattack, Cantrell said.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Music in The Bible) Psalm 56 Psalm 56[a] For the director of music. To the tune of “A Dove on Distant Oaks.” Of David. A miktam.[b] When the Philistines had seized him in Gath. 1 Be merciful to me, my God,     for my enemies are in hot pursuit;     all day long they press their attack. 2 My adversaries pursue me all day long;     in their pride many are attacking me. 3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. 4     In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid.     What...

As if the stresses of the holiday season weren’t enough, harried Americans find themselves tumbling deeper and deeper down a rabbit hole of political insanity. Originally orchestrated by Mad Hatter Adam Schiff, the plot of the impeachment hearings has been every bit as preposterous as that of the Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, written over a century and a half ago. And the current cast of characters is eerily reminiscent of those in that childhood classic -- if not even more bizarre. You may recall that the original tale was about a young girl who nods off to sleep and...
  • Did Eric Holder’s ‘threat’ to John Durham amount to obstruction of justice?

Former Attorney General Eric Holder, who ran the Justice Department like it was a division of the Democrat Party instead of the nation’s premier law enforcement agency, penned an op-ed in the Washington Post Wednesday that could certainly be seen as a threat to U.S. Attorney John Durham. Holder, who was held in contempt of Congress for refusing to honor lawful subpoenas for information about the “Fast and Furious” gun-running scandal but was let off the hook by a federal judge Obama appointed, claimed that current AG William Holder is “unfit” to hold his office because he deigned to disagree...

When the Dear Leader of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jerry Nadler, said that this was too important a matter to trust to the voters in the next election, he and his ilk gave us a frightening preview of the Gulag into which they would put We the People, should they gain full control of the government. They wrap themselves up in the Constitution but conveniently forget the first three words. They forget that the Constitution establishes three branches of government, not two. But they have no time for the courts to rule on disputed documents and privileged conversations. They...

Hunter Biden was arrested on Jersey Shore drug charges in 1988 and had his record expunged at a time when his father was pushing for the incarceration of drug offenders drawn disproportionately from minority groups. Congressional records reveal that Hunter Biden, now 49, was arrested June 1988 in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, where the Biden family has often holidayed over the years. Hunter Biden, then 18, had just graduated from the prestigious Archmere Academy prep school, which his father had also attended. The former vice president and his wife Jill have often been spotted on trips to Stone Harbor. The...

Five days before 18-year-old Barnard College student Tessa Majors was slashed to death in Morningside Park at the edge of campus, a younger teenage girl was chased into the 118 Deli one block further away. The younger girl lost her footing as a boy who would prove to be 13 came in after her. “He kicked her on the floor,” the woman behind the counter would recall. “Situation like that, all I know is I got to call the cops. Once I see something like that, I’m calling the cops.” The counterwoman, who declined to give a reporter her name,...

Reconnaissance of a North Korean launch site indicates that Kim Jong-Un may be preparing to test a long-range ballistic missile, three U.S. intelligence officials who monitor North Korea in different agencies tell TIME. The intelligence comes ahead of a fast-approaching self-declared year-end deadline that Kim set in an April 12 speech for a nuclear deal with the U.S. In recent weeks, North Korea has reopened its Sohae Satellite Launching Station and resumed testing what U.S. intelligence officials and private experts suspect may be a solid fuel rocket engine that could be used in an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching...

The White House pushed back Friday against claims that Donald Trump's tweeted jab at global warming activist Greta Thunberg, 16, is incompatible with Melania Trump's protective insistence that her 13-year-old son Barron is out-of-bounds for reporters. The first lady has crusaded against cyber-bullying as one plank in her 'BeBest' platform. The president mocked Thunberg on Thursday after Time magazine named the jet-setting, school-bycotting teen its Person of the Year, leaving his spokeswoman to parry claims of hypocrisy. 'BeBest is the First Lady’s initiative, and she will continue to use it to do all she can to help children,' White House...

His head rests face-down on the desk of his wood-panelled office, his phone, papers, diary and filing tray pushed away; his wife sprawls in a plush armchair; spread-eagled on a leather sofa is his smartly dressed daughter. At first glance, they could simply be dozing off after a heavy lunch of sauerkraut, schnitzel and schnapps. The truth is altogether grimmer.

Hundreds of thousands of social media users have watched University of Tennessee quarterback Brian Maurer's ex-girlfriend celebrate dumping him on TikTok. Morgan Hood, a sophomore at the school, recently took to the social media platform to share a humorous but scathing video about the end of the couple's relationship, in which she indicates that she's much better off without him. The TikTok quickly went viral — but has led to the young Nashville native being brutally trolled on Twitter.

Greta Thunberg told cheering protesters today 'we will make sure we put world leaders against the wall' if they fail to take urgent action on climate change. The Swedish teen activist was addressing the crowd at a Fridays for Future protest in Turin, Italy. She arrived there from Madrid where she had been attending the UN climate summit but said she feared the event would not lead to change. She said: 'Unfortunately, we probably already know the outcome. World leaders are still trying to run away from their responsibilities but we have to make sure they cannot do that. 'We...

With the revelation by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz that the FBI not only relied entirely on the discredited dossier gathered by Christopher Steele for their FISA application to conduct surveillance on Carter Page but that the primary sub-source of that dossier cast doubt upon the claims that President Trump colluded with the Russians in the 2016 election, a liberal narrative has finally been buried. So will the many mainstream media outlets who were hyping the validity of the Steele dossier now apologize? If so, The New Yorker magazine should be at the front of the apology line since...

Democrats would be scared to death if they had any sense. But we all know the answer to that ‘if’, don’t we? – The entire Democrat impeachment clown show has been a giant exercise in group stupidity, but words cannot really capture just how incredibly stupid it was for the Democrats to hold Tuesday’s Judiciary Committee hearing, at which they approved the drafting of their two idiotic articles of impeachment, on the very day that President Trump was scheduled to hold a campaign rally in Pennsylvania just a few hours after the hearing concluded. For those who haven’t been paying...

“Sixteen-year-old activist Greta Thunberg has quickly risen to prominence with her clarion call for climate action and Time's naming her its 2019 Person of the Year this week.” (NPR, 12/12) “So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!” (President Trump tweet 12/12)Interestingly, Greta Thunberg has recently become a darling of the media in Stalinist Cuba, a  regime whose founders craved a pretty dramatic form of “climate change.” And speaking of ridiculous Time magazine bestowing honors on people who desperately needed to chill:The publication also honored...

All across the Commonwealth of Kentucky, people are lashing out at their former governor for his controversial pardons and commutations. Before leaving office, Matt Bevin issued more than 400 of them. Some, including the case of a convicted child rapist in Kenton County, have created a firestorm of anger. Discussions are underway among some lawmakers to determine if anything can be done about it.

PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. – An Wisconsin judge on Friday ordered the state to remove hundreds of thousands of people from Wisconsin's voter rolls because they may have moved. The case is being closely watched because of the state's critical role in next year's presidential race. Ozaukee County Judge Paul Malloy also denied the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin's petition to intervene. Lawyers for the League and for the Wisconsin Elections Commission indicated they will appeal and asked Malloy to stay his ruling pending those appeals, but he declined. *SNIP* Before Friday's hearing, Democrat state Attorney General Josh Kaul said...
