From the beginning of its "long march through the institutions," the Left has been playing the long game. That hasn't changed. Leftists are playing it today. Why did they take over the media? The universities? Hollywood? To get their hands on the key levers of propaganda. Add to this the leftward tilt of Google, Facebook, and Twitter, and we're looking at a virtual lockdown on the primary sources of information and public influence. In his classic 1965 study "Propaganda," Jacques Ellul painstakingly lays out methods and effects of various types of propaganda. Ellul perceived that the development of technology and...

HOUSTON -- A group of 30 fans at the Houston Rockets' season opener against Milwaukee held signs and wore shirts in support of anti-government protesters in Hong Kong on Thursday night. Houston general manager Daryl Morey angered the Chinese government with a since-deleted tweet in support of the protesters earlier this month. Tuesday's opening-night games were not televised in China in the wake of Morey's tweet, which caused tension between the NBA and Chinese officials.

The Trump 2020 campaign late Thursday night responded in a tweet to Joe Biden's upcoming "60 Minutes" interview in which the former vice president is critical of President Trump for allowing his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner to work in important positions from within the White House. Biden told CBS, in a report that will air Sunday night, that he "wasn't raised to go after the children," but said it was a wrong decision by Trump to tap family members for positions that “they know nothing about.” (CBS released portions of the interview Thursday.) Ivanka is listed as an...

Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard announced on Friday that she will not seek re-election to Congress in 2020 so that she can focus on her bid for the White House. “I will not be seeking re-election to Congress in 2020, and humbly ask you for your support for my candidacy for president of the United States,” Gabbard said in a video published early Friday morning. The decision to not seek a fifth term representing Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district makes way for a competitive race for her seat, reported Hawaii News Now. The local outlet points out that Gabbard’s absence...

MSNBC star Rachel Maddow was on the defensive Thursday night after multiple reports said the Justice Department investigation into the origins of the Russia inquiry had shifted into a criminal probe. Maddow, who had beeen the face of MSNBC's coverage of the two-year investigation into alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, was baffled at the opening of her show Thursday night by the ongoing investigation from U.S. Attorney John Durham, whom Attorney General William Barr had appointed earlier this year. "This is the news that honestly, we've been sort of expecting for some time or thinking that if...

The U.S. foreign policy establishment has gone into meltdown mode since President Trump announced last week a withdrawal of several dozen troops from a corridor in northern Syria. American forces had been there since 2014, joined with a Kurdish splinter group to fight the notorious Sunni Arab terrorist organization, the Islamic State (ISIS). Trump made his decision after a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, but it was a long time coming. The Turks have been critical of U.S. support for an armed Kurdish organization they have considered the country’s most serious national security threat for five years....

The Trump administration plans to end subscriptions to The Washington Post and the New York Times held by federal agencies, the latest sign of presidential displeasure with news coverage he deems unfair. White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham told the Wall Street Journal that the White House would instruct agencies not to renew their subscriptions to the papers when they come up. She characterized the decision as a cost-saving measure, telling the Journal that “hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars will be saved” by the cancellations. Trump has made no secret of his dislike for both newspapers, dubbing the Times...

US Vice-President Mike Pence has criticised the US National Basketball Association (NBA) in a speech attacking Chinese diplomatic and trade policies. (CNN)Attorney General William Barr's probe into the intelligence and origins of the 2016 Trump-Russia investigation is now a criminal investigation, according to a person familiar with the matter. The so-called investigation of the investigators is led by John Durham, a Connecticut-based federal prosecutor, who so far has conducted some interviews but also has run into some obstacles from witnesses who have declined voluntary interviews, CNN reported last week. The move to make it a criminal inquiry was always anticipated, and it allows Durham to use subpoenas to compel testimony and comes as President Donald Trump faces an onslaught of negative...

I appreciate the GOP for at least putting on a show yesterday at Adam Schiff's private party. However, there is a better way to tackle this... hold hearings of your own. Adam Schiff may be the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee... but doesn't the GOP have the Senate and a Judiciary Committee of theirr own? If the GOP truly wants to win (which is often in doubt) they should convene the Senate Judiciary Committee and call each witness to testify after Adam Schiff is done with them. Let their questioning and testimony be done in public. Don't like secret...

Lord Jesus Christ, we boldly and unashamedly pray in Your name for the protection of President Trump and the overthrow and canceling of every curse spoken against him. Your prayers are needed in a spiritual battle raging nationally. Participants in the ritual, which has been performed regularly since Trump’s inauguration, are taking...

House Democrats say there is ample evidence to move forward in the impeachment inquiry without asking for testimony from the whistleblower, The Washington Post reported. Several House Democrats said Thursday that obtaining testimony from the whistleblower, whose report started the impeachment inquiry, has become less of a priority as senior Trump administration officials have supplied enough information on Trump’s controversial interactions with Ukraine, according to the newspaper. “I think it’s quite clear we have a surfeit of evidence that corroborates in full every aspect of what happened and the policy they were pursuing,” Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.), who sits on...
