An endorsement from a white supremacist isn’t something any of the 2020 candidates are looking for. Whether she wants it or not Democratic 2020 hopeful Tulsi Gabbard received an endorsement from KKK leader David Duke. Duke took to twitter and said, “Tulsi Gabbard in 2020. Finally a candidate for President who will really put America First?” “Tulsi Gabbard is currently the only Presidential candidate who doesn’t want to send White children off to die for Israel,” the former Grand Wizard also tweeted. Gabbard wasted no time getting caught up in this mess. “I have strongly denounced David Duke’s hateful views...

[Catholic Caucus] ‘An Antichristic Church’ A representative of one of the Amazon Rainforest’s ethnic groups (R) walks past Pope Francis as he takes part in a mass on October 6, 2019 at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, for the opening of the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for the Pan-Amazon Region. (Photo by TIZIANA FABI/AFP via Getty Images) I met Canadian Catholic theologian Douglas Farrow at last week’s Touchstone conference. He is a gentle, thoughtful man. Following widespread bipartisan criticism, President Donald Trump said Saturday his Doral resort in Florida would not host next year's Group of Seven summit of world leaders after all. "Based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020," he tweeted. "We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately." The president had been under fire for the choice, announced Thursday by acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, because it could ultimately benefit him financially....

A week ago I was having a conversation in the Fox News green room about the Downton Abbey movie with ...well, go on, guess: Tucker? Kilmeade? No, it was Tyrus. A hulking ex-professional wrestler who could crush the average effete English earl between his toes doesn't seem the most obvious fan of Downton's doings, and we disagreed on Lady Mary, for whom he has an intense loathing and to whose icy bitchery I've warmed up over the years. But it does suggest the broad appeal of Julian Fellowes' "franchise", and helps explain why, franchise-wise, Downton Abbey clobbered the latest Rambo...

In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. Upon the wicked he shall rain...

A former victim of a syncretistic religious ceremony in Brazil warns, “The Church must be very clear about the occult influences that form the basis of many of these native practices.” In 1968, Jane Porter, a British Catholic, was living as an undergraduate student in Brazil but after contracting an illness, she fell victim to a “false” healing carried out by an indigenous, pagan religion in a “Catholic” setting. The effects, she says, led to “far greater suffering” lasting for decades. In this interview with the Register, Porter recounts her traumatic experience and expresses her concern that the Amazon Synod’s...

When talking to supporters both before and after the rally, impeachment seemed to be furthest from their mind. October 18, 2019 By Madeline Osburn DALLAS, Texas — It’s only fitting that the first sentence out of President Trump’s mouth at his Dallas, Texas rally on Thursday night was about the luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton.“I am thrilled to be here, deep in the heart of Texas, where we just opened a beautiful, new Louis Vuitton plant,” Trump said from the American Airlines Center podium.Wealthy, beautiful women with designer purses is in fact what many Texans think of when they think...

[Catholic Caucus] Bishop Schneider dedicates new book to faithful who feel abandoned by silent and errant shepherds Editor’s note: The following address was delivered at the Rome launch of the first book-length interview with Bishop Athanasius Schneider, titled Christus Vincit: Christ’s Triumph Over the Darkness of the Age, held at the Palazzo Cardinal Cesi on Monday, October 14. Editor's Note: This story initially reported that the proposal would move the MLB draft back to August. Further reporting has found that while the draft in the proposal would move to after the College World Series, it would not be moved as late as August. We regret the error. Also, the number of roster spots for minor leagues would be limited to between 150 and 200 players. The story initially said teams would be limited to 150 players. A new bulletproof memorial to Emmett Till was unveiled Saturday after the previous sign was repeatedly damaged. The new sign, made out of bulletproof steel and ten times heavier than the previous one was memorialized Saturday as members of Till’s family gathered at Graball Landing in Mississippi.
