President Donald Trump announced on Twitter that he fired John Bolton, his national security advisor, in a stunning move Tuesday that apparently took Bolton himself by surprise. “I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House,” Trump wrote on in a harshly worded tweet, citing disagreements over policy. Bolton offered a different story in his own tweet, claiming that he had offered on Monday night to resign but Trump brushed him off. “I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, ‘Let’s talk about it tomorrow,'” Bolton wrote.

I can't find anything on it yet other than it registered initially at 3.9 apparently at USGS. Will probably see some updates around later. Wife, and I were having lunch at 1:20 P.M. when we heard "THE SOUND" we hear often before the quake hits us. "THE SOUND" the quake makes traveling towards us, and then the inevitable WHAM, JUMP, SHAKE, and the "THE SOUND" as the quake moves on to surprise more unsuspecting luncheoneers across its path in Southern California. No damage. Just shook us up in the middle of egg salad sandwiches, and potato salad. Glad it wasn't...

India and Russia could generate a “third order” — outside the constraints of either the United States or China. In the context of the recent India-Russia annual summit in Vladivostok, there were some underlying interests between the two countries that seemed conspicuous. Firstly, India and Russia find themselves with very few political issues between them, a rare foreign policy relationship that has stood the test of time. Recently, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar pointed to the fact that the India-Russia relationship has remained a relatively stable factor in international relations, more so than any other significant relationship since the...

Philadelphia 76ers forward Mike Scott got into a fight with Eagles fans at Sunday's game against the visiting Washington Redskins after allegedly receiving racial taunts from tailgaters. A video was posted before Sunday's kickoff showing a person, apparently Scott, in a fight with Eagles fans outside the stadium. He did not appear to get hurt, and fans tweeted afterward that Scott took selfies with them. According to PhillyVoice, which interviewed around a dozen witnesses and reviewed video evidence, the incident began with playful ribbing, but turned ugly when some individuals directed racial slurs, including the n-word, at Scott.

Six in 10 Americans say President Donald Trump does not deserve to be reelected, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS, and more now say he's doing a poor job than a good one of keeping important campaign promises. Overall, the poll paints a picture of a President who has done little to improve negative impressions of him or his work during his time in office. Across several questions asked early in Trump's time in office and asked again now, the poll finds little positive change and deep partisan polarization. The 60% who say the President does not...

President Trump is pushing for a government crackdown of California homeless encampments, pointing to the failure of local governments to deal with the crisis, according to the Washington Post. The attention seems to be focused on Los Angeles for now, with San Francisco officials saying they’ve heard nothing from the Trump Administration about action in their area. “I don’t know what they’re doing. I’ll believe it when I see it. Nobody has contacted us,” said San Francisco Mayor London Breed. “You think I know what’s going on in his (Trump’s) head?” Over the past few weeks, federal officials have talked...

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Tuesday praised President Donald Trump for firing National Security Advisor John Bolton, saying the move was a “necessary action.” I commend @realDonaldTrump for this necessary action. The President has great instincts on foreign policy and ending our endless wars. He should be served by those who share those views. https://t.co/XEBwzySxac— Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) September 10, 2019

"The View" co-hosts don't have favorable views of the Trump children. While discussing a recent article in The Atlantic that reported on a so-called "cold war" between Donald Trump's children, Ivanka and Don Jr., the women on ABC's daytime panel talk-show ripped into the president's kids and their supposed influence on the Republican party. "There are stories on them being a dynasty, that after Trump is gone then the next idiot and then the next idiot and then the next idiot," Joy Behar started. "This family is filled with mediocrities. Trump, to his credit, is a hideous, charismatic con-man that...

In phone calls to McMaster, Trump told his second national security adviser that he missed him. WASHINGTON — As President Donald Trump began losing confidence in national security adviser John Bolton, whom he fired on Tuesday, he reached out to the man he had fired to give Bolton the job: retired Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster. In phone calls to McMaster — the first of which took place last fall — Trump told his second national security adviser that he missed him, according to two people familiar with the conversations. It’s a sentiment the president has also expressed to White House...

On Thursday, according to the Miami Herald, a Muslim airplane mechanic named Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani was arrested “on a sabotage charge accusing him of disabling a navigation system on a flight with 150 people aboard before it was scheduled to take off from Miami International Airport earlier this summer.” But calm down, you ignorant and unrepentant Islamophobe: as always, this has nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism. How do we know that? Why, because Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani tells us so. A criminal complaint affidavit filed in Miami federal court states that Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani told federal air...

Is this the age of the great metropolitan exodus? In 2018, the New York City area lost more than 100,000 people to other cities and suburbs—that’s 277 people leaving every day. The Los Angeles and Chicago areas lost, respectively, 201 and 161 residents each day. It’s quite a change from the post–Great Recession period, when an urban renaissance was supposedly sweeping the country and all three metro areas were experiencing a population boomlet. What’s going on? And where is everybody going? To understand any metro’s migration picture, you have to know that the census keeps track of two types of...
