Feeling optimistic, I went to the Bar Association in New York City to observe a “case” of a noncitizen immigrant who had voted, been caught and was being processed. Whatever I’d naively expected, I was stunned at the bias of the 3 1/2 -hour presentation helmed by the Fordham Forum on Law & Culture, headed by Thane Rosenbaum, dean of Fordham Law School. The evening was billed as a reenactment of a case involving a noncitizen Filipina who ‘mistakenly voted’ in a congressional election. The issue was whether to exculpate the woman -- married to an American citizen, upstanding family,...

Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried. The same is true of most socialist policies — except where, as in Western Europe, the U.S. has paid for defense. And yet socialism continues to seduce the young, and confound the old. This was the week in which Venezuelans were expected to throw off the yoke of Nicolas Maduro’s ruinous socialist regime, and when South African voters had a chance to dislodge the corrupt, inept African National Congress (ANC) after 25 years in power. Maduro may yet be ousted, and the ANC saw its majority decline. But socialism, and socialist ideas,...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 2 Samuel 20 Sheba Rebels Against David 20 Now a troublemaker named Sheba son of Bikri, a Benjamite, happened to be there. He sounded the trumpet and shouted, “We have no share in David,     no part in Jesse’s son!
Every man to his tent, Israel!” 2 So all the men of Israel deserted David to follow Sheba son of Bikri. But the men of Judah stayed by their king all the way from the Jordan to Jerusalem. 3 When David returned to his palace in Jerusalem, he took the ten concubines he had left to...

Rudy Giuliani, President Trump's personal attorney, said Friday on "Fox News @ Night" that he will not be traveling to Ukraine as previously announced. Giuliani, a former Republican mayor of New York City, said that he believed he would be "walking into a group of people that are enemies of the president, and in some cases, enemies of the United States and in one case, an already convicted person who has been found to be involved in assisting the Democrats with the 2016 investigation. "There was a great fear that the new [Ukrainian] president would be surrounded by, literally, enemies of...

Boy, the MSM has been uncharacteristically quiet about the most recent school shooting haven’t they? I suppose it may have something to do with how the perps obtained the guns – stolen from parents who had purchased them legally. More likely it has more to do with the fact that at least one of the two villain shooters is a member of the newest protected fringe identity group: Girls-to-Men. Or is that boys-to-Womyn? It’s so hard to tell which way the kids are going these days. In any event I’m willing to bet the shooters cover at least 2 letters...

Following her recent claims that she had the 2016 election “stolen” from her, Hillary Clinton is now indicating that Vladimir Putin may have determined the election outcome. Clinton took her tin-foil hat conspiracy theory on stage to Dartmouth College in New Hampshire Wednesday. "If you are an American, the idea that our election is being trifled with, being impacted and may be determined by Putin and the Kremlin and his intelligence service and military and all of their assorted allies and agents. That should give us heartburn because we cannot have a strong relationship with Russia for good or ill...

House Democratic leaders scrambling to manage their oversight of the Trump administration are increasingly being squeezed by both wings of their diverse caucus. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is a biting critic of President Trump, but she’s rejected early calls for impeachment hearings, instead favoring aggressive investigations into potential abuses of administrative power. That methodical approach has plenty of support within the Democratic Caucus — not least from moderates in battleground districts wary of the political fallout of impeachment proceedings. But cracks are beginning to show at the edges. On the left, a number of progressive lawmakers are now sounding...

The Cuban government announced Friday that it is launching widespread rationing of chicken, eggs, rice, beans, soap and other basic products in the face of a grave economic crisis. Commerce Minister Betsy Díaz Velázquez told the state-run Cuban News Agency that various forms of rationing would be employed in order to deal with shortages of staple foods. She blamed the hardening of the U.S. trade embargo by the Trump administration. Economists give equal or greater blame to a plunge in aid from Venezuela, where the collapse of the state-run oil company has led to a nearly two-thirds cut in shipments...

The Italian sociologist and economist Vilfredo Pareto died in 1923. He saw men’s beliefs and actions as motivated by sentiment and self-interest. The ostensible motivations given for certain beliefs and actions, such as helping the underprivileged, are often cover for actions actually motivated by a desire to protect the privileges of the elites -- the power structure. For example, the Democrats claim to be motivated by a desire to help the underprivileged. But their actions are clearly motivated by a desire to protect their own power and privileges. Encouraging mass immigration of illegals who compete for lower-level jobs does not...

VIDEO Almost as amazing as this Seminole Hard Rock Guitar Hotel & Casino Hollywood is the fact that I never even knew about it until yesterday. In any event I hope to be there when it first opens probably sometime in November.

Every time I see the latest economic news, I thank Hillary Clinton. Every time I see those high GDP numbers (up 3.2 percent last quarter), I thank Hillary. Every time I see those record low unemployment numbers for blacks, Latinos and women, I thank Hillary. If she hadn't been such a horrible candidate in 2016, there's no telling what sorry state America would be in right now. So thank you, Hillary, for being such a loser. You did your country a greater service than you'll ever know. I don't really blame Hillary too much for refusing to accept her embarrassing...

As uncertainty over the outcome of Sino-American trade talks grows, so does the possibility of longer-than-expected negotiations or an all-out trade war. The Trump administration has laid the groundwork to unexpectedly increase duties on $200 billion in Chinese imports to 25% from 10% at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday. That escalation has prompted strategists at Goldman Sachs to offer some timely trading strategies, if trade negotiations, set to kick off on Thursday, break down. (not sure I agree with the suggestions, but might be worth discussing, anyway) Please see link for full article.

I was the confessor for the last four years of a holy religious diocesan sister, SISTER PAOLA MEZZETTI, fourth oldest among six children from a religious family; her father was a fisherman at Lake Trasimeno. From the beginning of her consecrated life she offered her life for priests and bishops, knowing that there were many bishops in Masonry. She offered catechism classes in many parishes of the diocese of Perugia and cultivated a community (“Queen of Victories and Mother of Renewal”) around her, one of which became a priest. One day before she died a few from this group came...

With Sen. Bernie Sanders introducing a new “Medicare for All” bill this month and several other Democratic presidential candidates co-sponsoring it, health care is once again a top campaign issue. The Democratic Party’s Socialist wing has hijacked the health care debate, and a closer examination of Medicare for All reveals its grim prognosis. This plan is co-sponsored by four other senators running for president: Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Cory Booker. It represents a radical change in how Americans pay for and receive health care. Medicare for All ends private health care insurance, granting the federal government total control....

Just when everyone thought that the United States Postal Service’s (USPS) finances couldn’t get any worse….they did. On May 10, the USPS announced second quarter FY 2019 losses of $2.1 billion, bringing total postal net losses to more than $70 billion since 2007. But be prepared to suspend disbelief even further, it may soon get far worse. On May 8, President Trump announced General Motors’ intention to sell its Lordstown Assembly plant to the Cincinnati-area Workhorse Group (a company that reported revenues of just $763,173 in 2018 and a net loss of $36.5 million) to build electric trucks.  The deal is contingent...

President Trump is taking heat for comments he made at a Wisconsin rally where he described what happens to a child after she is born alive following a failed abortion, saying, “The baby is born. The mother meets with the doctor, they take care of the baby, they wrap the baby beautifully, and then the doctor and the mother determine whether or not they will execute the baby. I don't think so. It's incredible.â€Â The mainstream media are “fact-checking†Trump’s statement as if it is incorrect. But the abortion industry and the media have tiptoed around the basic question. So, I simply...

MARION COUNTY, Oregon, May 10, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Two parents in Oregon have filed a million-dollar lawsuit against Woodburn School District over a second-grade teacher they say took it upon himself to give their eight-year-old son one-on-one gender lessons after erroneously assuming the boy was transgendered. The Nellie Muir Elementary School student had special permission to use a staff restroom due to a digestive condition, but a female teacher allegedly noticed him entering the restroom and assumed it was due to gender discomfort, the Salem Statesman Journal reported. The lawsuit alleges that the teacher pulled the boy out of recess...

It is one of modern history’s more famous quotes: “If a man is not a socialist at 20, he has no heart. If he remains one at age 40, he has no head.” These words (and variations thereof) have been attributed to everyone from Disraeli to Clemenceau to Churchill. Whatever the true source, they convey a wisdom that frequently is going unheeded in America. And we risk becoming an ever more controlled and corrupt society. Consider recent survey data. This January, the public relations firm Axios released the results of a SurveyMonkey online poll of nearly 2,800 U.S. adults. Respondents were asked...

The private jet ownership is despite his efforts to campaign against climate change in his songs. With song lyrics that include: "[They’re] talkin’ bout how the weather’s changing / the ice is melting / like the world is ending," you would think he would try to live a low carbon lifestyle, but alas. Drake has gotten himself a gigantic plane. – Via Daily Caller – The superstar rapper showed off his plane, called “Air Drake,” on Instagram Friday, and it’s downright absurd. The interior is absolutely massive, and he points out that it’s not a “timeshare” or “rental.” It’s just...

The Acting Secretary of Defense has approved the movement of USS Arlington (LPD-24) and a Patriot battery to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) as part of the command’s original request for forces from earlier this week. These assets will join the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a U.S. Air Force bomber task force in the Middle East region in response to indications of heightened Iranian readiness to conduct offensive operations against U.S. forces and our interests. The Department of Defense continues to closely monitor the activities of the Iranian regime, their military and proxies. Due to operational security, we...
