A few millennials...actually believe that missing a card payment would “improve” their credit rating, the survey said. “It was only 6 percent, but it actually shocked us,” said Mike Brown, a research analyst with LendEDU and the author of its Millennials & Credit Cards Survey. “They might think that by missing a payment they are gaming the system,” he added. Seventeen percent said missing a card payment would have no effect on their score. LendEDU, a Web site that provides information for student loan refinancing, also found that many millennials are spooked by credit cards, yet many use them in...

Meanwhile, it’s impossible for Joe Scarborough’s teeth to be hurting mainly because he doesn’t have teeth but only fangs MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough doesn’t take chances, even the insults he hurls at the enemy, are politically correct: Example: Kellyanne Conway just doing the inexplicable, saying things…that make his teeth hurt. “Not her but the words that come out of her mouth”.

Kayleigh McEnany, who recently departed CNN as a contributor, will be the next spokesperson for the Republican National Committee. "I am excited to be joining the RNC at such an important and historic time in our country,” said McEnany, a frequent surrogate for Donald Trump in last year's presidential race. “I’m eager to talk about Republican ideas and values and have important discussions about issues affecting Americans across this country," she said in a statement from the RNC. "Kayleigh will be an integral part of our Party’s ongoing commitment to promoting the Republican message to Americans across the country,” RNC...

A real estate technology company that aims to lower the cost of home-selling by using robots and “big data” instead of commission-based real estate agents has opened a Long Island office — its first outside of California. REX Real Estate Exchange, which charges a selling commission of 2 percent instead of the usual 5 percent to 6 percent. The Los Angeles-based company expects to start listing New York-area homes on its website, rexchange.com, later this week. Traditional real estate fees “are just crazy high compared with every other industry in the United States,” said Jack Ryan, Rex’s chief executive and...

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on Monday proposed raising taxes for the wealthiest New Yorkers to increase funding for the city's deteriorating subway system. His plan, an increase in the tax rate on an individual's income above $500,000 to 4.41 percent from 3.876 percent, would also fund half-price bus and subway rides for up to 800,000 of the city's poorest residents, he said. De Blasio, a Democrat, said his plan would raise an additional $700 million in 2018 for the subway and bus system, and that the additional revenue could be used to borrow more funding even sooner....

Full Headline: There’s a 'supervolcano' waiting to erupt beneath a seemingly 'beautiful' market, according to a portfolio manager "We went back to 1994 and researched team data that said [that if we look at cyclically adjusted P/E, one out of two times] the market was down in the next 12 months, and about one out of three times it was down more than 10 percent," he said. James' observations seem to mirror a note released more than a week ago by Goldman Sachs, which found that when valuations have been this high, 10-year returns on the S&P 500 have been...

As we're in Slutwalk month, we'll all again be told women can dress as provocatively as they want, act as provocatively as they want, and if anything bad happens as a result, the woman is never to be blamed. Sorry, but a black person would be kinda' foolish to attend a Klan rally. If he or she did and got an ass-whuppin', there would be many people who'd think attending was a rather stupid idea. Everyday on social media we see women portraying themselves in ways that, as Bill Clinton said, have that "come hither look" and we unfortunately see...

A few years ago, I attended a conference where pastors were encouraged to meet at a pub after the general sessions. A few of these pastors could exercise their liberty, but why publicly? I wondered how many people at the conference stumbled because of it. The demands of life often tempt us to seek gratification in alcohol and other things. We must be on high alert. The enemy uses "opportune times" to draw us away from God. (cf. Luke 4:13.) The line is so thin that it is often hard to determine when we cross over. The person who consumes...

As an apocalyptic haze blanketed Seattle last week, temperatures soared into the 90s and left Seattleites ruing their lack of air conditioning. Welcome to the future? Scientists project climate change will exacerbate wildfire activity. Extremely hot days — 95 degrees and above — are expected to become more common. How hot will it get? A consortium of researchers with the Climate Impact Lab has analyzed two consensus climate models and projected changes nationwide. The lab shared data for each of Washington’s counties with The Seattle Times. Historically, King County has averaged less than one day (.37) a year at or...

The slippery slope is real. Once the state gets in the business of killing off its citizens via euthanasia, the brutal logic of economics works its way through the system. In Canada, which legalized euthanasia just over a year ago, one of the most important forums for political discussion, Maclean's Magazine, published an article arguing that doctors ought to be paid a premium for killing off euthanizing terminal patients. And of course, it was all so reasonable in tone. It really is a lot of work for the doctors, you see. Most providers need to meet with their patient a couple times...

The city of Baltimore widely publicized their “Nobody Kill Anybody Weekend” this past weekend in the local press. Unfortunately local criminals refused to listen. At least two people were shot dead over the weekend. Baltimore is another bankrupt and crime-ridden Democratic city.

Late last month, about 100 researchers from around the world gathered at Logan International Airport in Boston. A fleet of buses appeared to whisk them to a remote and luxurious ski resort in northeastern Maine. They met to talk, drink, and cogitate off the record for five days about a messy solution to one of the world’s most challenging problems. They had gathered to discuss how to provide humanity one last line of defense against catastrophic global warming: solar geoengineering. The idea behind solar geoengineering is simple. For the last four decades, humanity has struggled to reduce the amount of...

Australia's Bureau of Meteorology announced that the equipment at several cold-weather temperature stations was being replaced to make it "fit for purpose."  What the bureau didn't mention is that once the equipment was in place, temperatures from those stations dropped. Climate Depot: A record of the Thredbo Top station for 3am on Wednesday shows a temperature reading of -10.6C. This compares with the BoM's monthly highlights for June and July, both showing a low of -9.6C. The BoM said it had taken immedÂiate action to replace the Thredbo station after concerns were raised that very low temperatures were not making...

Believe it or not, Fresno State has discovered that Hate Speech can emanate from the Left. "A history professor at Fresno State University who tweeted that President Trump 'must hang' will not be returning to teach in the fall," the Associated Press reports. "University President Joseph Castro said in a statement Friday that Lars Maischak, an American history instructor, wouldn't be teaching when classes resume." "But Castro said two of Maischak's courses would be converted to an online format to fulfill a contractual obligation. Castro said Maischak's contractual assignment expires on December 20, 2017." The shift to the left by Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York demonstrates the power of a party base that is abandoning the Jewish state. Both were once rock-solid supporters of Israel. But both have other priorities these days — they are thinking about running for president in 2020. Their problem is that no one who plans to compete in future Democratic primaries can ignore the growing power of their party’s left wing, which has grown increasingly hostile to Israel. The influence of the far left is the only thing that might explain...

Market breadth, a measure of how many stocks are rising versus the number that are dropping, has turned “exceedingly negative,” according to Brad Lamensdorf, a portfolio manager at Ranger Alternative Management. Lamensdorf writes the Lamensdorf Market Timing Report newsletter and runs the AdvisorShares Ranger Equity Bear ETF HDGE, -0.64% an exchange-traded fund that “shorts” stocks, or bets that they will fall. “As the indexes continue to produce a series of higher highs, subsurface conditions are painting an entirely different picture,” Lamensdorf wrote in the latest edition of the newsletter. He noted that the year-to-date advance in equities — the S&P...
