President Trump gave H.R. McMaster a vote of confidence after the national security adviser's rivals seized on a letter McMaster sent to his Obama predecessor Susan Rice giving her continued access to classified information. McMaster's letter, which his supporters said was routine, was apparently leaked to imply that the Army lieutenant general was helping Trump's enemies. McMaster's feud with other powerful camps inside the White House has been well-documented, and a recent spate of firings by McMaster appears to have ratcheted up tensions. But Trump issued a statement late Friday supporting McMaster.

A new report by left-wing and business economists says the nation’s economic growth can be accelerated to 4 percent per year — if Congress annually imports two immigrant consumers for every American teenager who turns 18. Trump’s very popular reform would halve low-skilled immigration, while also inviting very skilled immigrants to help Americans grow the nation’s productivity and per-person wealth. The business-boosted alternative “population bomb” two-for-one plan would nudge up the...

the last 12 months the city of Dearborn, Michigan, has been thrown into conflict. At its heart, the conflict is about fear, ideology and identity politics – and what it means to be an American. Dearborn, home to the largest mosque in North America, is a place of apparent contradictions: simultaneously a sleepy, affluent suburb and yet also the subject of rumours about Isis terror cells and sharia law.

The U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago, among the busiest in the nation, must set its priorities to fit the times. Twenty years ago, the top priority might have been public corruption. Ten years ago, it might have been white-collar crime. EDITORIAL Today, as John Lausch prepares to take over the job, we urge the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago to focus on one priority above all others: Ridding our city of illegal guns.
