Prosecutors and an attorney for Jacob Carrizal met behind closed doors Friday with a judge, who said he remains hopeful that the first trial of a Twin Peaks shootout defendant is on track to begin Sept. 11. Judge Ralph Strother of Waco’s 19th State District Court met for about 20 minutes with prosecutors Michael Jarrett and Amanda Dillon and Carrizal’s attorney, Casie Gotro, to discuss ongoing issues that must be resolved before Carrizal’s trial. Carrizal, a 35-year-old Bandido from Dallas, was not required to be at the status conference because the judge said it was just an informal meeting to...

American Airlines is disputing Lena Dunham’s claims that she overheard two female airline employees having a “transphobic talk” at the airport on Wednesday, saying the time stamps of her claims don’t add up. A spokesperson for the airline told TheWrap that they are unable to substantiate the allegations made by the creator and star of HBO’s “Girls.” Dunham tweeted around 3 a.m. ET, said the airline spokesperson, when American’s last departure/arrival at JFK was around 1:45 a.m. ET. Additionally, a video that Dunham posted around the same time showed that the actress was flying on Delta Air Lines, which according...

Well, we now know what occupies this clown’s mind. – After the magnificent NRA spokesman Dana Loesch said the organization plans to “fisk” the NYTimes, fake Times reporter Adam Goldman got on Twitter in a panic and wailed that the NRA wanted to sexually assault his newspaper. Mr. Goldman admitted he thought Ms. Loesch had said “fist”. The word “fisk” is a new media term for going through the fake media reports line by line and refuting them. Odd that the Millenial Mr. Goldman is unfamiliar with that word. But then, he obviously has other things on his mind. Oh,...

WASHINGTON – A new video ad portraying America as a racist society, produced by consumer product giant Procter & Gamble, is being met with fierce criticism. The ad, titled “The Talk,” depicts scenes of black mothers warning their children about the dangers of being black in America, how the system is stacked against them and why they should fear police. Building on the company’s decade-old “My Black is Beautiful” campaign, the commercial begins with a black girl, from what appears to be the 1940s era, holding a white doll telling her mother that a woman at the store told her...

It is a revolutionary truth that life in the United States is awful. Workers, minorities, and Democrats are oppressed at every corner, and there is a struggle to acquire even the most basic of necessities. So it was with some pleasure I noted today a line of well-dressed upper class people standing in line to buy bread. (Picture Starbucks) "Ahh, here is the truth of the matter," I thought to myself. "The rich and poor alike must stand in a breadline to acquire even simple foodstuffs." Here was conclusive proof that capitalism failed to provide a proper distribution of goods....

The bill to curb immigration supported by President Donald Trump would add to the wealth of Americans. Trump on Wednesday announced his support for legislation proposed by Senators Tom Cotton, R-Ark., and David Perdue, R-Ga., that would cut legal immigration into the United States by half and grant entry based on education, the ability to speak English, and jobs skills. While reducing immigration would cut overall U.S. economic growth by reducing population growth, gross domestic product per U.S. resident would grow, according to an analysis of census and economic data by Breitbart News. Immigrants are responsible for about half of...

Return from this 11-day adventure with a new appreciation of Cuba.”Well? What could be more historically fitting than the New York Times helping Americans “appreciate” (and further enrich) the Castro Family Fiefdom? This Potemkin excursion by the mother of all fake news purveyors on Cuba to Cuba is titled the “History, Culture and Contemporary Life of Cuba.” Fine let’s start with the New York Times’ splendid history of...

It's not the first time the outdoors adventureman has taken a break to the Siberian mountains. The Russian premier visits the Tuva region regularly, even though it is not a big draw for many tourists. And he usually opts to go shirtless here, as in 2009, the famous photo of him riding a horse without his top on was taken. Political analysts say the president takes adventure holidays to show the nation that he is still healthy, strong and full of vigor.

A small group of nuns and priests met the woman in the chapel of a house one June evening. Though it was warm outside, a palpable chill settled over the room. As the priests began to pray, the woman slipped into a trance -- and then snapped to life. She spoke in multiple voices: One was deep, guttural and masculine; another was high-pitched; a third spouted only Latin. When someone secretly sprinkled ordinary water on her, she didn't react. But when holy water was used, she screamed in pain. "Leave her alone, you f***ing priests," the guttural voice shouted. "Stop,...

The proposal seemed modest in today's polarized political climate: The head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee suggested his group might help fund candidates who didn't share the party's support for abortion rights. The backlash from abortion-rights activists and organizations was quick and harsh. The basic message: Don't go there.

Or in the immortal words of Father Guido Sarducci:“It’s all-a politics.”Even the path of the upcoming solar eclipse, according to Boston Globist, Matt Rocheleau, is about political sides:In the article that we’d like to think was tongue in cheek, but can’t be sure, Matt asks “Is the eclipse throwing shade at Clinton supporters?” The Twitterverse was quick to respond. Indeed, the Hillary Eclipse would follow no known set astronomic physics - or rules of any kind for that matter – and that would make it far more awesome: breaking the celestial glass ceiling so to speak. And I don’t know...

Ten years ago Al Gore took his global warming crusade to the movies with his documentary film An Inconvenient Truth, which Hollywood honored with an Oscar. The award was granted by the Academy of Motion Pictures, not by the Academy of Science. It would be difficult to justify a scientific award for a documentary film with outlandish predictions that never materialized, and which schools in Britain were only allowed to show if accompanied by “guidance” that contradicted many of the film’s unsubstantiated claims. Of course every award winning film needs a sequel, so this weekend Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Sequel:...

“Liberals do not believe in the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness which are American ideals, or at least they used to be. If you love freedom, then you will be hated by the modern liberal who believes that government should regulate individual freedom. If you love freedom and believe that the state does not own you, then leftist hate should be a goal, not a fear.” – Dr. Helen Smith“I thought of what Daddy had said when I asked him why he’d never gone on public assistance. ‘Because they take away your manhood,’ he said.” –...

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said that Democrats should try to impeach Vice President Mike Pence after they impeach President Trump on “The View” on Friday. “Do you think Pence will be better than Trump?” host Joy Behar asked Waters. “No, and when we finish with Trump, we have to go and get Putin. He’s next,” Waters said. “Putin or Pence?” Behar asked, confused. “Pence,” Waters said, correcting herself. Waters has been calling for Trump’s impeachment since February.

First images from Lockheed's experimental, telescope-shrinking SPIDER David Szondy August 3, 2017 Cross cut view of a SPIDER array (Credit: Lockheed Martin) View gallery - 3 images If asked to think of a telescope, most people will picture a long tube with a lens at either end. But a new experimental optical instrument developed by Lockheed Martin could usher in ultra-thin devices that weigh 90 percent less than typical telescopes while providing equivalent resolution. The first images captured by the Segmented Planar Imaging Detector for Electro-Optical Reconnaissance (SPIDER) have now been revealed. Lockheed Martin today released the first images from...

Fox News Channel's Tucker Carlson and Charles Krauthammer respond to President Trump's West Virginia rally. KRAUTHAMMER: Here's a guy, his numbers are down in the 30s, he's got reports of a grand jury, he's got the walls closing in on him in Washington. He goes out into the country and says, these are my people, these are real people, forget about the numbers, forget about the chatter in Washington, forget about the stories about Russia... But [Trump] represents a huge constituency of tremendous support and enthusiasm. Admittedly, this is one state where he won his biggest victory of all, but...

Only someone as brazenly arrogant as Debbie Wasserman Schultz could claim her own irresponsible behavior as a civic virtue. The former DNC chair insists she “did the right thing” by not firing an IT aide after being warned he was under criminal investigation, “and I would do it again.” Not only did she stand by Imran Awan, she tried to stonewall Capitol Hill L/E and threatened them with “consequences” if they didn’t back off. Awan is now charged with bank fraud, which Debbie Wasserman Schultz chalks up to anti-Muslim bias. Imram allegedly arranged a fraudulent Congressional credit-union loan that was...

There's nothing like the sight of Republicans and Democrats working together and scrambling to save big time government aid to super-rich corporations. Whether it's a bailout for major banks, tax credits for Big Oil, or big subsidies for large agriculture businesses, this kind of crony capitalism seems to anger almost everyone but nobody really does anything about it. Now, we're about to witness another scramble to provide our hard-earned taxpayer money into the pockets of an industry that's already raking in the big bucks. The Senate Health Committee is going to hold hearings in September to find ways to keep...
