WASHINGTON – A spiritual awakening is underway at the White House. Some of the most powerful people in America have been gathering weekly to learn more about God's Word, and this Trump Cabinet Bible study is making history. They've been called the most evangelical Cabinet in history – men and women who don't mince words when it comes to where they stand on God and the Bible.

Laws are to govern all alike — those opposed as well as those who favor them. I know no method to secure the repeal of bad or obnoxious laws so effective as their stringent execution.

The authority of Scripture holds supreme importance in a Christian worldview, especially for Protestant evangelicals who believe that their faith and the way they live depend upon Scripture. Other branches of Christendom and skeptics, such as the convert to Roman Catholicism Peter Kreeft, sometimes raise objections to this crucial distinction. (1) They suggest that this principle is incoherent or unworkable. Responses to seven common objections explain how sola scriptura impacts Christian theology. Objection #1: Scripture itself does not teach the principle of sola scriptura; therefore, this principle is self-defeating. Response: The doctrine of sola scriptura need not be taught formally...

Examination of the registered voter rolls in Broward County, Florida revealed that there are thousands of voters over 100 years of age, including several over 130 years old. The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) filed a lawsuit accusing the Broward County supervisor of elections, Brenda Snipes, of dereliction of duty. "This quantity of centenarians on the voter rolls is actuarially improbable," argued Logan Churchwell, the head researcher for PILF. "This improbability alone should have spurred the elections officials to scrutinize the data and purge deceased voters from the lists." Snipes countered by asserting "I am no mathematician and should not...

In recent years, it has become increasingly common to frame the climate change problem as a kind of countdown — each year we emit more carbon dioxide, narrowing the window for fixing the problem, but not quite closing it. This outlook has allowed for climate optimism, in which big changes, someday soon, will make the difference. Christiana Figureres, the former head of the UN's Framework Convention on Climate Change, recently joined with climate scientists and policy wonks to state there are 3 years left to get emissions moving sharply downward. Yet a battery of recent studies call into question even...

Forget that North Korea would be committing strategic and political suicide with a full-scale bombardment of Seoul. If a storm of artillery rounds fell on Seoul, would the city really disintegrate? "Artillery is not that lethal," says Anthony Cordesman, who holds the Arleigh A. Burke Chair in Strategy at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and is a national security analyst for ABC News. "It takes a long time for it to produce the densities of fire to go beyond terrorism and harassment." Even in a worst-case scenario, where both U.S. and South Korean forces are somehow paralyzed...

Does IRS chairman John Koskinen have superpowers? Or does he know things so incriminating about everyone that he not only retains his job (in the face of demands for his firing), but flaunts his ability to offer succor to abusive bureaucrats? Ali Meyer reports in the Washington Free Beacon: The Internal Revenue Service rehired employees who were previously involved in agency misconduct such as falsifying documents or having unauthorized access to sensitive taxpayer information, according to an audit from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. Considering that identify theft is a major concern, auditors wanted to inspect the agency to ensure the...

Six month wait for 65-year-old skydiver's glaucoma appointment is 'unacceptable' By JoeBulmer | Posted: July 31, 2017 A 65-year-old Devon skydiver suffering with glaucoma has had to wait for months to have his condition looked at and the man's hospital has admitted "patients are waiting longer" to be seen. David Tylcoat, from Burrington near Chulmleigh, is meant to have a routine eye exam every six months to check how his condition is being managed. Two weeks ago David rang the Eye Clinic at North Devon District Hospital to find out why he had not received a notification to come in...

Editor's note: This following is an excerpt from "The Big Lie," Dinesh D'Souza's latest book, released today.Racism and xenophobia: this is the hot-button charge. Every comparison between Trump and the Nazis goes here. Elizabeth Warren explains Trump’s rise as the product of “an ugly stew of racism.” Historian James Whitman warns that “white nationalism lives in the White House.” Jeet Heer charges in the New Republic that Trump’s “racism and xenophobia” display his “fascist roots” that are not his alone but “lie in the Republican Party.” Along the same lines, leftist writer Michael Tomasky traces a “direct and indisputable”...

The Center for American Progress has just released a report about gun theft, which is already serving as a tailor-made tool for those who want to extinguish your Second Amendment rights. If you’re unfamiliar with the Center for American Progress, its first president and CEO was John Podesta, who served at President Bill Clinton’s Chief of Staff, and later chaired Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. The group’s report: Stolen Guns in America: A State-by-State Analysis, describes gun theft in the United States as “staggering,” and it holds gun owners responsible for the thefts, rather than the criminals themselves.

On Monday Judge Napolitano dropped this bomb on the Imran Awan investigation. Judge Nap says Awan was selling US secrets to foreign agents. Judge Napolitano: He was arrested for some financial crime. That’s the tip of the iceberg. The real crime against him was that he had contact, he had access to emails of every member of Congress and he sold what he found in there. What did he sell and to whom did he sell it. That’s what the FBI wants to know. This may be a very, very serious national security investigation.

In stumping against increased acceptance of concealed carry permits nationwide, gun control advocates tapped in George Zimmerman’s CWL and a $20 BB gun. (Photo: Everytown) Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety over the weekend began running a meme showing a Florida state concealed weapon license purportedly owned by George Zimmerman layered over a person with a Marksman air pistol shoved haphazardly into the waistband of their jeans. “Some states have low or no standards for who can carry a concealed weapon in public,” says the text over the ad. “The NRA’s latest pet policy would make the weakest...

Read this one folks. More evidence-based options have emerged for secondary prevention. The Improved Reduction of Outcomes: Vytorin Efficacy International Trial (IMPROVE-IT)4 reported that adding ezetimibe to effective statin therapy in stable patients who experienced an acute coronary syndrome reduced low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) from 70 mg/dL to 54 mg/dL (to convert LDL-C from mg/dL to mmol/L, multiply by 0.0259), and reduced risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease outcome at 7 years from 34.7% to 32.7%. The Further Cardiovascular Outcomes Research with PCSK9 Inhibition in Subjects with Elevated Risk (FOURIER) trial5 reported that the addition of evolocumab, a proprotein convertase subtilisin–kexin...

Gen. John Kelly was sworn into office at the White House Monday morning, taking the position of White House chief of staff. The ceremony was closed to the press, but photographers were called in afterward to mark the occasion. When asked for comment, President Trump said Kelly was “fantastic” and would do a “spectacular job” in his new position. Later in the morning, Kelly and Trump met with the president’s entire cabinet. Trump praised Kelly’s six month leadership of the Department of Homeland Security, calling the results “nothing short of miraculous.” He also predicted that Kelly would be “one of...

A recent poll by the Pew Research Center found that a majority of Americans say the Democratic Party “too often sees government as the only way to solve problems.” The Pew survey, conducted this summer among a national sample of 2,504 adults 18 years of age or older, found that 61 percent of Americans see the Democratic Party as too government-centered, believing that the state should be the only recourse for solving problems in society. Among those surveyed, even substantial percentages of those describing themselves as Democrats or liberals believe that the Democratic Party has gone too far in turning...

Air-to-ground or air-to-air missiles have one thing in common — they have a seeker head, or targeting system on the missile that uses radar or heat-seeking technology to find and lead the weapon to the target to destroy it. The Russian defense industry says it will deploy powerful lasers on its new sixth-generation fighter that will be able to “burn” enemy homing systems on projectiles fired in their direction, to make them unable to hit a target. “We already have laser protection systems installed on aircraft and helicopters, and now we are talking about developments in the field of powered...

The VA Veterans Choice Program is supposedly a benefit that allows eligible Veterans to receive health care from a community provider rather than waiting for a VA appointment or traveling to a VA facility. I am rated at 100 percent totally and permanently disabled due to combat service-connected disability. The nearest VA dental facility is over 40 miles from my residence. I must wait more than 30 days for an appointment. I am therefore eligible for the program but VA tells me that dental care is specifically excluded from this program. Can anybody tell me why it is excluded and...
