Does IRS chairman John Koskinen have superpowers? Or does he know things so incriminating about everyone that he not only retains his job (in the face of demands for his firing), but flaunts his ability to offer succor to abusive bureaucrats?
Ali Meyer reports in the Washington Free Beacon:
The Internal Revenue Service rehired employees who were previously involved in agency misconduct such as falsifying documents or having unauthorized access to sensitive taxpayer information, according to an audit from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.
Considering that identify theft is a major concern, auditors wanted to inspect the agency to ensure the individuals they hire are of high integrity in safeguarding sensitive taxpayer information.
The auditors found there were 200 employees who were rehired between January 2015 and March 2016 that were terminated or separated from the agency that were either under investigation or had some misconduct that caused them to leave.
This is absolutely unacceptable. The IRS has such fearsome arbitrary power over Americans that it must be like Caesar's wife and above reproach.
Newsmax reports (hat tip:Legal Insurrection):
The report noted more than 200 of the 2,000 former IRS employees hired in 2015 and 2016 had been dismissed by the agency or left while under investigation, according to the Examiner.
Four had cheated on their own tax returns and another four had been probed for improperly accessing taxpayer records, the website said.
"The Internal Revenue Service continues to rehire former employees with conduct and performance issues," the report states.

Why?
Because the same criminals are still running the place.
Because the powers that be in the IRS believe they can get away with anything.
They believe they can get away with anything because so far, they’ve gotten away with everything.
Because they’re dumber than a glob. Of faces.
Why haven’t the Republican’s terminated Koskinen from leading the IRS in the first place? This guy either sanctioned political stonewalling against the TeaParty or he turned a blinde eye while it was occurring.
Unions.
shut em down.
The House of Representatives quietly voted 342-72 AGAINST impeaching Koskinen back in 2016. More evidence of just how deep the swamp is and how necessary it is to drain it.
They can track your income down to the penny but keep track of fired employers in their HR system? Not so much.
Any bureaucracy does this. Civil employees truly believe that they are entitled to lifetime sinecures and fat retirements. Looter/moocher type people avidly seek govt jobs. They don’t ever want to set a precedent that firing govt slime for cause is ever acceptable. For example the fired Air Traffic Controllers got rehired
That is the only way they can hire dimoKKKRATs. Cheating.
There will be a lot of jobs open at IRS if President Trump can reform it.
true swamper.
PING!!!

Fired employees is small potatoes. The illegals w/ 20 identities, mailed to the same address a/o the identity fraud (can’t help a Citizen here) are also no-go zones.
Remember to ‘thank’ your fav. (R) critter. They’ve done SUCH a good job, right?
Lucidity Award.
Hey I was wondering where you found out the vote count of the decision to not impeach Koskinen, and if there were names to go along with the votes. I want to find out which rat bastards from the GOP decided not to have a hearing for impeachment. Thanks.
A no vote for referring the resolution back to committee signals support for moving forward with a floor vote on impeachment: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2016/roll608.xml
Koskinen belongs in jail.
Is IRS Chairman a Presidential appointment?
If so, what's the holdup with replacing this crook John Koskinen from the Obama admin?
Koskinen clearly has the goods on a lot of senior Republicans. There is a way for Trump to turn this situation to his advantage, but it will look unpalatable on the surface to FReepers.
