Laws are to govern all alike those opposed as well as those who favor them. I know no method to secure the repeal of bad or obnoxious laws so effective as their stringent execution.
1. I agree with U.S. Grant and you. The President should DEFINITELY revoke any exemptions to the law that were given to Congress, the insurance industry and various unions. BTW, not too many things that he could do would make him more popular.
2. The flip side to the U.S. Grant quote is that the definition of a tyranny is were some or all laws are unequally applied - and always to the benefit of those in power or close to it.

We the People are *THE* final arbiters of law.
To this, I’m afraid, I have yet to see the Prez. pay more than lip-service to Rule of\Equality Under Law, though there be voluminous paths he could take.

Conservatives are more then happy to live under the same laws and taxes they want for everyone else.
Liberals/progressives expect to exempted from the same laws and taxes they want for everyone else.
