Earlier today GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump retweeted an obviously fake photo featuring a woman in a burqa, Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly and Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Talal. Prince Talal noticed and issued a response. It's not clear what bailouts Talal is referring to, but this certainly is a rocky start to diplomatic relations should Trump win the White House. This isn't the first time the two have feuded. In the past, Trump referred to Talal as a "dopey" prince. Prince Talal noticed and issued a response. It's not clear what bailouts Talal is referring to, but this certainly is...

Bill Clinton's poll ratings are in free-fall, and that surprise crash undermines the conventional wisdom that Hillary Clinton has a lock on the Democrat nomination. A new CBS/New York Times poll shows that just 39 percent of American voters have a favorable opinion of Bill Clinton. This is down from a 50 percent approval rating just a few months ago. In 2012...66 percent of voters had a favorable opinion of Mr. Clinton. Bill Clinton's favorable rating today is actually lower than it was in 2008, when he last campaigned forcefully for Hillary as she was battling Barack Obama for the...

After a year-and-a-half long voyage aboard the International Space Station, a group of fungi collected from Antarctica has proven its ability to withstand harsh, Mars-like conditions. More than half of the cells remained intact over the course of the 18-month study, providing new insight for the possibility of life on Mars. These fungal samples, along with lichens from Spain and Austria, have allowed European researchers to assess the survivability and stability of microscopic lifeforms on the red planet. The tiny fungi taken from Antarctica are typically found in the cracks of rocks in this dry, hostile region. Scientists took samples...

For weeks arms sellers and regulatory agencies have seen increased demand for gun permits. Enrollment in self-defense courses is also up. Police say that is not yet a problem. Gun sellers say that most customers want a pistol that can fit easily into a handbag or a small drawer in the night table. "People no longer feel safe, otherwise they would not be buying so many products here," says a seller in North-Rhine Westphalia. [...] Germany has strict gun laws which stipulate that weapons may only be purchased under very specific circumstances. But with the so-called small arms permit, citizens...

...Mr. Schaffer said shortly after Planned Parenthood hired him last summer, he initiated a "dialog" with prosecutors in Harris County, which encompasses most of Houston, about the details of the case, and maintained communication throughout the investigation, which lasted two months. Schaffer said his clients volunteered documentation and invited prosecutors to question employees and tour its Houston clinic. Also critical to the investigation was the grand jury's focus, which changed course and started looking at the anti-abortion activists, Schaffer said on a conference call with reporters, adding he received that information from a prosecutor...

The term “City upon a hill†was first used by John Winthorp, one of the key founders of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, who said, “We will be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us, so that if we deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken and so cause Him to withdraw His present help from us, we shall be made a story and a byword throughout the world.†Yet, it was Ronald Reagan who made the term famous, in his frequent referral to the United States as the “Shining...

Australia's prime minister gave a personal assurance on Friday that his government would legalize gay marriage if a majority of Australians choose marriage equality in a popular vote. The center-right government has promised to hold a plebiscite on the gay marriage question if the government is re-elected in a vote due this year. But a number of the government's most conservative lawmakers have recently announced that they might vote down gay marriage against the wishes of a majority of Australians. ...

With GOP candidate Donald Trump bowing out of tonight's Fox News debate, he's been the talk of the town. I know what you're thinking. When hasn't he been, right? I know how you feel. You either love him or you hate him. Well a photo is making its way around the Internet that might actually boost him just a touch with those who aren't quite ready to jump on the Trump train. It's a picture of his personal finances and shows how much money he's given to charities over the last five years. It's a pretty substantial amount.

What??? It's already minutes into the debate and Trump is not yet winning the Drudge online poll! How can this be? Surely Trumpsters are sitting at the ready to weigh in on Trump. Where is this 100% accurate, scientific poll? He's usually winning by now.

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Calgary Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman sent linesman Don Henderson to the ice when he checked him from behind during a game against the Nashville Predators. In the second period Wednesday night, Wideman was skating toward the Flames' bench when he cross-checked Henderson, who had his back to the defenseman. Moments earlier, Wideman had taken a hit from the Predators' Miikka Salomaki. Wideman said after the game that his hit to Henderson was unintentional. "I took a pretty hard hit down in the corner and had some pretty good pain in my shoulder and my neck and...

The Texas senator insists he's never favored a path to legalization for undocumented immigrants, but many of his old colleagues say that's not true. For Latino Republicans who have known Ted Cruz over the last 15 years, the candidate stumping across the country on an anti-immigration platform is not the rising talent they once worked with on the George W. Bush campaign, in the Bush administration, and then as Texas Solicitor General. The Ted Cruz of those years was a whip-smart and audaciously ambitious lawyer who lent his considerable intellectual heft to the policies many Latino Republicans cared most about,...

After bailing out on the Fox News GOP presidential debate tonight in Des Moines just days before Iowa voters head to caucus, Donald Trump announced he will be hosting an event to raise money for veterans groups. The event will take place at the same time as the debate and CNN plans to cover. In response to Trump's event, Ted Cruz super PAC Keep the Promise countered with $1.5 million for veterans groups, so long as Trump agrees to debate the Texas Senator one-on-one before voting gets started on Monday. Cruz super PACs: We'll give $1.5 million to vets if...

I was watching Bernie Sanders speak last week at a town hall in Bedford when an early intuition became a conviction: Take Mr. Sanders seriously. He is not just another antic presence in Crazy Year 2016. His rise signifies a major shift within the Democratic Party. *** “Let me disabuse you,†Mr. Sanders says to those who think he cannot win. He quotes New Hampshire polls, where he’s way ahead. He can defeat Donald Trump, he says. Then the meat. He described America as a place of broad suffering—“student debt,†“two-job families†with strained marriages and insufficient child care, “the...

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee's subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, is calling on Fox News debate moderators Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier and Chris Wallace to ask the GOP presidential candidates where they stand on Obamatrade. "It absolutely is a critical issue for the future of America," Sessions told Breitbart News in an exclusive phone interview late last week. This is no little matter that needs to be decided in some secret room and secret negotiations. I don't see how anybody that conducts a debate can fail to ask about this critical issue....

Who needs Congress when you've got a horde of unelected bureaucrats willing and able to write law and do the will of the president? Congress can't decide on anything anyway. They're always arguing. It takes great leadership to circumvent Congress and really get things done. Good job President Obama, you've built quite a legacy of destruction. Here's just another example of the Obama administration's government overreach that is systemic. The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) was established thanks to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act becoming operational in 2012. In just four short years, the CFPB has...

The latest person to find themselves in the crosshairs of Donald Trump’s twitter act is prominent Iowa evangelical Bob Vander Plaats. The specific accusation that Trump leveled against Vander Plaats is that Vander Plaats asked for $100K to arrange for Trump to come speak at an Iowa event that he, generously, was willing to do. Vander Plaats’ response was that it was Trump, in fact, who was paid the massive speaking fee, and that he (Vander Plaats) got nothing. As you find more often than not when Trump calls someone else a liar, the facts demonstrate that in fact it is...
