How Planned Parenthood became 'victims of a crime' in hidden camera case
Christian Science Monitor ^ | January 28, 2016 | Kelsey Warner

...Mr. Schaffer said shortly after Planned Parenthood hired him last summer, he initiated a "dialog" with prosecutors in Harris County, which encompasses most of Houston, about the details of the case, and maintained communication throughout the investigation, which lasted two months.

Schaffer said his clients volunteered documentation and invited prosecutors to question employees and tour its Houston clinic. Also critical to the investigation was the grand jury's focus, which changed course and started looking at the anti-abortion activists, Schaffer said on a conference call with reporters, adding he received that information from a prosecutor...

Can a prosecutor in grand jury case share details with one side???

My understanding is that the whistleblowers were blindsided because they were not privilege to what was going on inside the grand jury investigation.

One of the employees at the DA is also on a PP board of directors or something, if i recall correctly. Can someone confirm?

And it is a laughable assertion to believe that everyone who’s ever held a fake ID has been prosecuted as a felon with threats of 2-20 years imprisonment.

They weren’t buying alcohol, they weren’t operating a motor vehicle or engaging in any business with the State. They weren’t even passing bad checks.

I’ve been listening on local news but haven’t heard the filmmakers’ lawyer discuss that yet.

And they weren’t here illegally either

The Left claims they had intent to DEFRAUD Planned Parenthood.

Apart from face time/access they did not get or seek anything from PP.

PP’s lawyer claims that no one at PP ever answered their email seeking to buy baby parts. Wasn’t that something PP discussed on the videos? I haven’t seen the clips that were shot in Texas.

I’ve heard a claim that the prosecutor viewed the recordings as “illegal” and thus not considered for evidence against PP.

A lot of mystery (with strong suspicions) at this point.

Telling me the DA is a pro-life Republican means NOTHING. Wendy Davis ran originally as a Republican in the Dallas area.

Lauren Reeder is a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s criminal family law division. She apparently notified District Attorney Devon Anderson of her role with Planned Parenthood last week. Reeder is listed as a non-compensated “Director” on the990 Tax Form for 2014 filed by Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast.

From an article at HotAir.

The communications between DA and PP counsel strikes me as unusual. Perhaps the AG and State Bar should look into this

Quite laughable. If so, there would be a lot of undercover private investigators in jail.

Yes, it is true. Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson made a public statement that made mention of it. She said:"...There is an allegation that one of our prosecutors, who happens to be on the board of Planned Parenthood, was involved in this investigation and the presentation to the grand jury. That is simply NOT true. In August, the day after our Lt. Governor asked me to investigate the allegations of misconduct by Planned Parenthood, this prosecutor notified me of her affiliation with this organization. We immediately sent out a press release revealing her relationship to the public. At that time I said; In order to avoid any appearance of impropriety; I am taking steps to make sure she is not involved in any matter of this investigation. And that is what happened. She is a fairly new prosecutor who would never be assigned to an investigation of this magnitude anyway. ..."

Thats part of the statement, but I think charging them with a felony for showing a false ID to PP is a revenge hit. The Harris County DAs office found no wrong doing in PP for agreeing to sell dead baby parts and nailed the whistle blowers with a felony. This is political through and through.

More politically motivated prosecution. Remember how the Dems ruined Tom DeLay’s political career, finally exonerated after 6 years of appeals?

Simple really. The DA should be impeached...and Texans need to get on with it.

What really stinks is that she has received over $25,000 in political contributions from the attorney. Shouldn’t she have to recuse herself?

The grand jury in this latest case didn’t even VOTE on the charges against PP, to me that means that no charges were presented against PP.
