In New Hampshire, Trump"s grab-bag of populist positions and singular persona match an ideologically promiscuous electorate, and Trump towers above the field. Speaking for less than an hour to about 1,000 attendees, a hoarse Trump cast himself as a man apart from the entire political system, painting Hillary and Ted and Jeb as beholden to their donors. I am the only one that is funding my own campaign on either side, Democrat or Republican, which makes me feel a little bit lonely, he said.

Vietnam's ruling Communist Party was on track Tuesday for a smooth power transition after settling a power struggle between the party chief and the pro-business prime minister trying to unseat him. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung effectively withdrew from the contest to become the Communist Party general secretary, clearing the way for his rival to keep the post in what appears to be a compromise to present a united front to the nation, delegates at a party congress said Monday. [...] The path is now clear for Nguyen Phu Trong to stay as general secretary, the de facto top position...

I think that the two newest releases of Google Chrome are broken. Version 47.0.2526.111 m Version 48.0.2564.82 m I get the spinning blue circle for NO reason at all occasionally. All other applications function normally. RAM usage for Chrome appears to be normal. There's rumblings on Chrome forums, but I don't see a definitive in-your-face "It's Broken!" yet.

When a "church" constantly tills the ground with phony claims of having "living prophets, seers and revelators", who haven't EVER "prophecied, seen or revealed ANYTHING", and fertilizes that ground with the manure of claims that these same men are powerless because unfaithful members are keeping the "church" under condemnation...they OWN the nonsense that sprouts up in the ground they have prepared.I can think of no better punishment for the breakaway sect of Mormonism, headquartered in Salt Lake city and known as the LDS, than the self-proclaimed "Reincarnation of Hyrum Smith" who has used the "urim and thummim" to translate the...

The Australian government came under mounting pressure on Australia's national day on Tuesday to appoint an Australian head of state to replace the British monarch. Every Australia Day, an eminent Australian citizen is made Australian of the Year in recognition of his or her contribution to Australian society. President Barack Obama said Monday he will ban the use of solitary confinement for juvenile and low-level offenders in federal prisons, citing the potential for "devastating, lasting psychological consequences" from the use of the isolation as punishment. "It has been linked to depression, alienation, withdrawal, a reduced ability to interact with others and the potential for violent behavior," Obama wrote in an op-ed posted Monday evening on The Washington Post's website. "Some studies indicate that it can worsen existing mental illnesses and even trigger new ones. Prisoners in solitary are more likely to commit suicide, especially juveniles and people with...

President Barack Obama will pitch some new proposals to expand access to retirement savings accounts and revisit some old ones when issuing his budget next month. [...] The White House says Obama's proposals, if enacted, would provide more than 30 million people access to a retirement account. The biggest chunk of that increase would occur through legislation requiring employers that don't offer a retirement plan to automatically enroll their workers in an Individual Retirement Account. The employers that did so would get a tax credit of $3,000 to help them offset the administrative expense. The proposal was also part of...

When it comes to immigration reform, Senator Ted Cruz has made it abundantly clear what he opposes: giving citizenship to people who broke the law to come here. What has not been as evident is what he supports: legal status for millions of people here already, while making it easier for immigrants to come here through the front door. "I have said many times that I want to see common-sense immigration reform pass," he said. "I think most Americans want to see the problem fixed."

A super PAC supporting Ted Cruz is airing a new TV ad in Iowa that goes for the policy jugular against Donald Trump, equating his past statements on universal health care to positions held by President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The ad, created by Keep the Promise I and shared first with NRO, warns of yet another big-government health care program: "TrumpCare." "First there was HillaryCare. … Then there was ObamaCare," the narrator says, knitting together video footage of both Democrats arguing for "universal health care." Then a still-shot of Trump appears, and the narrator intones: "We can't afford...

Hundreds of homeowners and business people, frustrated over drug and property crimes, are hiring their own security patrols to curb what they see as a long-neglected problem. For Angie Gerrald, crime in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood has reached a new low. From illegally parked RVs to open drug deals, the longtime resident sees piles of used needles on her routine runs, she said, and other problems she says police sometimes ignore. "The blatant lawlessness has been a whole new era" this past year, Gerrald said. "There is so little response -- so little they [police] can and will do about it."...
