RUSH: Did you hear about Stephanopoulos today? Have you heard about this? George Stephanopoulos, it has been discovered -- and he has apologized for not telling us -- that he has donated $50,000 to the Clinton Crime Family Foundation over the years. Now, see, Snerdley's in there shaking his head, "So what, not surprising." That's the point, right? Not a surprise. He never left the Clinton crime family, is the point. He's not a journalist. He's not an anchorman. He's a political hack. All he did was change his location. But you see, the thing is, once again, there's a...

ISIS released an audio message which it claims is from its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The message was posted on jihadist websites. The message urges all Muslims to carry guns and fight on behalf of the “caliphate.” The ISIS leader also had a veiled message for the last several U.S. presidents. “O Muslims, Islam was never for a day the religion of peace. Islam is the religion of war,” the voice purporting to be Baghdadi said. He called upon Muslims around the world to either make their way to the Islamic State or “fight in his land, wherever that may...

Nearly two-thirds of companies facing a new ObamaCare tax say they are changing their coverage to avoid the extra costs, according to a new survey. The so-called Cadillac tax, which applies to healthcare plans above a certain expense threshold, is one of the most pressing changes still to come under ObamaCare. Only 2.5 percent of companies that would be hit by the Cadillac tax starting in 2018 said they plan to pay the tax. A total of 62 percent of companies said they have already taken action or plan to take action to avoid it. Most say they are shifting...

The latest Civil War-related historical roadside marker will be dedicated during a special ceremony next month in Cleveland. The marker commemorates the difficult time during the Civil War when much of Bradley County lay between Union and Confederate lines. During this period, homes and businesses were vandalized and robbed by both pro-Union and pro-Confederate forces who took advantage of the prevailing lawlessness. This marker also commemorates the courageous actions of War of 1812 veteran Joseph Lusk II, who at 73, defended his home with determination against a group of outlaws attempting to steal his mules. He shot and killed one...

Venezuela's black market exchange rate weakened below a key level on Thursday, as the bolivar's decline steepened in the face of hyperinflation and a rapidly shrinking economy. Over the past couple of years the value of the currency has plummeted against the dollar to its present 300 bolivar level. In 2012, a dollar would get you 10 bolivars, according to unofficial exchange rates. By the time President Nicolas Maduro was inaugurated in April 2013, it was 24 bolivars to the dollar and by this January it was at 173. This black market rate of 300.72 on Thursday was almost 50...

Reflections on the May 12, 2015 Amtrak train crash in Philadelphia... First Day at School You’re a gym teacher at a new school, in charge of 30 kids in a gym, on your first day at work. You can’t keep your eye on all of them at once. While you were helping a couple of kids improve their free throws at one end, you hear a shout at the other end of the gym; one kid knocked another down. Scenario 1: You don’t know either kid at all, so you objectively ask the kids to all explain what happened. You...

Rick Santorum, the former senator from Pennsylvania who delivered a surprisingly strong performance in the 2012 presidential campaign and may run again in 2016, said Thursday he was baffled by Jeb Bush’s handling this week of a question about the 2003 war in Iraq. “I don’t know how that was a hard question,” Mr. Santorum said at a Republican National Committee meeting here. At one point, Mr. Santorum suggested that Mr. Bush might not be entirely ready for the campaign. “If you are not prepared for it, I think we’ve seen in the past, you are not going to do...

CLIMATE CHANGE expert Dr Benny Peiser has claimed some surface temperature recordings used as the basis for global warming evidence are GUESSED AT – including in the Arctic and Antarctic. The Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF), chaired by former Conservative chancellor Nigel Lawson, has recently launched an inquiry into the reliability of global surface temperature records, with a group of international "eminent climatologists, physicists and statisticians" set to probe current data. With different sets of results appearing to conflict each other, the GWPF say they have received questions and concerns about which records are accurate and why some adjustments in...

New rules also loosen restrictions on baptism, divorce, and parents of teens. For more than a decade, the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission Board (IMB) disqualified candidates who spoke in tongues or who had been baptized in churches that disagreed with the convention’s view of baptism. Similar rules barred divorced people or those with teenagers from being missionaries. That changed Wednesday, when the IMB’s trustees, at the prompting of their new president David Platt, approved a new, simplified set of rules for the agency’s more than 4,800 missionaries. Missionary candidates must affirm the doctrines found in the Baptist Faith...

RUSH: Somebody asked me this morning, it was Mr. Snerdley. Mr. Snerdley came in today, and said, "Does it ever get boring?" And I said, "What are you talking about?" "Everything you mention, everything you predict, when it comes to the Democrats, comes true!" I said, "What are you talking about?" "This Amtrak stuff, everything you told us yesterday, the Democrats are doing, infrastructure, infrastructure, infrastructure, no matter what else." No, it never gets boring. You know, I used to ask professional golfers that, "Does it ever get boring hitting it straight every time?" They said, "Never." "Does it ever...

Amidst revelations that ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos was an undisclosed contributor to the Clinton Foundation slush fund at the same time he was defending it on the air, some GOPers are finally putting their foot down. Conn Carroll, formally the White House correspondent for Townhall and currently communications director for Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) had this to say on Twitter: "I'm not letting my boss go on ABC until GStephanopoulos recuses himself from all 2016 coverage." And Rand Paul is the First Republican presidential candidate to say George Stephanopoulos shouldn’t moderate the 2016 debates. “It’s impossible to divorce yourself from...

Snip My StoryI grew up in a household living with not only my mother and father, but also my half-brother and his mother. My father had two kids: one with my mom (me) and one with another woman (my half-brother, who was three months older than I). When my mother was not there, I would see my father and my half-brother’s mother kiss and cuddle. When my half-brother’s mom wasn’t there, I would see my mother and my father kiss and cuddle. Although I was very young, these images still remain with me.My mother and the mother of my half-brother...

The arrival in Seattle Thursday of an oil rig Royal Dutch Shell is outfitting for oil exploration in the remote Arctic Ocean marks a pivotal moment for an environmental movement increasingly mobilized around climate change. Activists paddling out in kayaks to meet the rig off Seattle's picturesque waterfront said it's their moment to stand against opening a new frontier of fossil fuel exploration. "Unless people get out there and put themselves on the front lines and say enough is enough, than nothing will ever change," said Jordan Van Voast, 55, an acupuncturist who was going out on the water to...

The girl, who will not be identified by the Times...

While celebrities such as Kate Hudson, Khloe Kardashian, Gisele Bundchen, and Reese Witherspoon spent Mother’s Day paying tribute to the special women in their lives, Lena Dunham observed the holiday by asking others to join her in protecting abortion rights on social media. The star and creator of the HBO series Girls has been a vocal proponent for abortion throughout her career, and as the aforementioned stars were paying homage to the ladies who gave them life Sunday, Dunham was reminding her two million Twitter followers she believes life should be given strictly by choice. She tweeted:

His latest attempt to clarify his stance on the Iraq war all seems very clumsy and awkward for a man who wants to be president. President George W Bush had a speaking problem with his well-documented Bushisms. His father was not immune either, once telling surprised listeners that Ronald Reagan and he had "had some sex", before correcting himself to say he had meant "setbacks". Jeb Bush seems to have inherited the same problem, but a hearing disorder, too. "I'm running for president in 2016," the former Florida governor let slip in Nevada on Wednesday before hastily adding an "if"....

The chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi says Hillary Clinton’s testimony will be delayed until the panel gets all relevant documents from the State Department. “Simply put, the Committee must have the records of communication requested more than six months ago before the secretary’s appearance can be scheduled,” Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) wrote Thursday in a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry. Gowdy's decision throws cold water on the idea that Clinton, a 2016 contender, could appear before the panel next week, as her attorney offered. In a May 4 letter to Gowdy, Clinton's attorney said the...
