"Mr. Durst expressed his apologies to CVS for this unfortunate medical mishap," attorney Chip Lewis said in a prepared statement handed to reporters in court Tuesday. "He compensated them for the damage done and appreciates their understanding." Lewis said neither he nor Durst would comment further on the case. The real estate mogul did not attend the scheduled appearance in County...

From a proabortion clergy member: “Clearly, giving a woman the right to abortion is a compassionate stand, and anytime compassion rules over judgment, we see the kingdom of God. I can’t get any of these Bible thumping, antiabortion people to show me any place at all scripture where Jesus ever says, “You made your bed, now lie in it. Too bad…” I see Jesus as being outrageously gracious, outrageously forgiving. If Jesus were right here today, I think he would say, “I’m sad that anyone has to have an abortion. I’m sad that has to be a choice. But you’ve...

Just when President Obama thought it was safe to show his face in an American courtroom again, in walks John Wayne in a black robe to deliver one of the greatest legal beatdowns ever suffered by a sitting president. Except for all the other beatings President Obama has already endured in federal court and from Supreme Court justices, including the ones he himself picked. And this guy still sells himself as some kind of constitutional law expert? Already, the Supreme Court has ruled against Mr. Obama some thirteen times. And that’s just counting the instances where the Supreme Court ruled...

Elena Holodny December 16, 2014As Russia's currency crisis unfolds, Russians are scrambling to get their hands on US dollars. Even Russians working in the oil sector are rushing to trade their rubles in for dollars. A bank in Russia's Khanty-Mansiysk region — aka an area in Russia that produces approximately 51% of Russian oil — has completely run out of dollars, and is almost out of euros, reports Interfax. The bank still has rubles. "Basically, what this means is that people who work in the oil industry [in Khanty-Mansiysk] just got all of their money out of the bank in...

Yes, this is happening. Because the US Army needs a few extra bucks. That’s why. Very soon you will be able to buy a surplus Army-issue Humvee at prices starting around $10,000. Yep, this is the real deal. According to Yahoo News and the Army Times, the US Department of Defense will auction off as many as 4,000 military-spec Humvees, instead of sending them to scrap yards. The first batch of 25 Humvees is heading to the auction block tomorrow. Obviously these retired vehicles aren’t in perfect condition, most having been built between 1987 and 1994. They have anywhere from...

Jeb Bush may be top dog in the latest 2016 polls, but he’s woefully behind the rest of the GOP field when it comes to friends, likes and retweets. The former Florida governor took to social media Tuesday to announce that he will “actively explore the possibility of running” for president in 2016, tweeting a link to a statement on his Facebook page. Journalists and political junkies leapt at the news, but Facebook fans … not so much. As of early Tuesday afternoon, hours after Bush’s 10 a.m. announcement, his tweet had amassed 5,700 retweets and 2,200 favorites. On Facebook,...

No one wants to let go of "Let It Go" more than parents, and "Frozen" director Jennifer Lee has become brutally aware of that fact. The Oscar-winning director is now apologizing for the phenomenon that swept (and continues to sweep) the nation because adults are fed up with the animated film. "A year ago, I'd meet people who, when they found out who I was, they'd say, 'Oh, we love the songs! We sing them all the time.' Now they're like, 'Yep, we're still listening to those songs,'" Lee tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I've gone from, 'Thank you,' to, 'Sorry!'"...
