Chief Justice John G. Roberts is an evil genius. The ruling to uphold the Affordable Care Act is, on its face, a win for President Obama both because the media are saying it is and because it is the signature piece of legislation of his first term. But it may turn out to be a pyrrhic victory, as Roberts accomplished numerous, subtle victories for conservative Republicans. There have been all kinds of opinions on Mitt Romney's handling of Monday's Supreme Court ruling over SB 1070, but I'm having a hard time imagining any of his supporters are going to take too much umbrage with this one. It's really just that simple: We have got to get rid of President Obama.CLICK ABOVE LINK FOR THE VIDEO Romney added: "Obamacare was bad policy yesterday. It's bad policy today. Obamacare was bad law yesterday. It's bad law today."This presidential election is "a choice," Romney said. "You can choose whether you want to have a larger and larger government, more...

. . . John was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will deeply missed but happily remembered. Mr. Reich's last wishes for us that are left behind in this world is that we band together and clean out the current White House and take America back from the evil condition it is in today. May God Bless You All. . . In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be sent to the campaign of anybody who is running against President Barack Obama in 2012.

Like stated in the title (We need a NEW TEA PARTY rally) NOW! WE the people need to let the government know that we cannot be CONTROLLED! We need the government to know that we will not go backward in this nation back into slavery. We need to know that "Taxation without Representation" is Treason. And most of all WE THE PEOPLE need vote to Defeat ALL politicans WHO vote to keep this vile law!~ J.S. I don't know when but I propose a national "Tea Party" rally sometime in the fall; I don't know when, and this thread is...

Crony capitalism at its most basic. Create onerous regulations and then give out exemptions to allies and constituents. The only wrinkle in this case is that the demographic subsection unburdening itself of ObamaCare is the same demographic subsection that has been most pointedly exuberant in advocating health care reform, with California Democrats even passing symbolic health care laws just like the ones that their most liberal supporters are now opting out of. On the federal level, of course, Former House speaker Nancy Pelosi was instrumental in securing ObamaCare’s passage. And now, for a disproportionate number of businesses in Pelosi’s San...

The decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold President Barack Obama's health care reform law sent the stock markets lower with health industry stocks getting hit hardest on Wall Street on Thursday.

It did occur to me that the since the precedent has been established that POTUS can simply waive laws, as in Obama's waiving of enforcement of immigration laws, and that Obama himself has granted numerous waivers for Obamacare itself, Romney can do the same thing until Obamacare can be repealed.

The USSC upheld Obamacare by, basically, twisting the Constitution into a pretzel, crapping on it, whizzing on that and then eating it. Finding first that the Commerce Clause bars the government from compelling one to enter into commerce, the analysis then turned to whether there was any way to save the constitutionality of the act. The justices found one. They re-interpreted the penalty clause as a tax. And of course, Congress can levy taxes.

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the constitutionality of Obamacare, the principal choice now facing Americans on November 6 will be whether to keep Obamacare or to repeal it. The question is a binary one, and the answer — expressed almost entirely through their presidential vote — will go a long way toward determining the future course of this great nation. Yes, the economy is extremely important; and, yes, Obamacare is hurting the economy. But the reason why this election is the most important since the Civil War is not because Mitt Romney would make a far...

The House voted Thursday to advance a resolution finding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, and a related resolution that could lead to civil court action against Holder. Members voted 254-173 in favor of a rule governing floor debate for the two resolutions, setting up more debate and votes later in the day. The rule was approved by every Republican, and 15 Democrats, a sign that the resolutions might win the support of about a dozen or more Democrats later in the day.

WASHINGTON—The Supreme Court cited First Amendment rights to free speech in striking down a law that made it a federal crime to falsely claim to have been awarded military-honor medals. The 6-3 majority opinion upheld a Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that had declared unconstitutional the Stolen Valor Act, a 2006 statute Congress passed "to protect the reputation and meaning" of military honors.

Abound Solar, a company that won a $400 million Energy Department (DOE) loan guarantee in 2010 to manufacture advanced solar panels, is closing and filing for bankruptcy, according to DOE. Abound’s collapse follows last year’s demise of the solar company Solyndra and is sure to feed Republican attacks on White House green energy programs despite support for Abound’s loan from several GOP lawmakers ahead of its approval. The Colorado-based Abound had drawn $70 million of the loan, according to DOE. Abound will close its doors and file for bankruptcy next week, the department said.

Did Roberts change his mind on obammacare since the initial vote was taken after the arguments were heard? Will we ever know that? It seems obamma was really pissed after the arguments were heard on this law, and then obamma anger kind of started to soften. I wonder ir they got to Roberts and turned him?

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Hey, folks, have you seen the economic news today? Have you heard about the unemployment numbers today? (laughing) Gross domestic product, have you heard about any of that? Because I have it here, and it sucks. It's a disaster. The economy of this country remains a disaster. And we, the American people, have just been deceived in ways that nobody contemplated. And what we now have is the biggest tax increase in the history of the world. What we have been told by the chief justice of the Supreme Court and four liberals on the court: Obamacare...

Jerry Sandusky will reportedly still receive a state pension payment of more than $4,900 per month despite being found guilty last week on 45 molestation charges, according to Pennsylvania law. Reuters reports that, by law, the former Penn State assistant football coach would only forfeit his pension after being sentenced for an Act 140 state crime. Crimes such as extortion and bribery by a public employee are covered by that act, but not violent crimes or sexual abuse.

It looks to me that there are some sweet lemons for conservatives in the ObamaCare decision. Before we burn the chief justice in effigy, let's read the decision and think about the implications. First of all, upholding ObamaCare is going to energize opposition to Obama, and the determination to elect a Congress that can repeal and replace it. Just a day ago, the MSM was telling us it would be a plus for Obama if the act were held unconstitutional because it would take the issue off the table and weaken his opposition. On the other hand, as Rick Moran...

The U.S. economy grew only modestly in the first quarter, the government confirmed on Thursday in a report that underscored the economy's vulnerability as global growth slows. Gross domestic product rose at a 1.9 percent annual rate, with motor vehicle output accounting for more than half the gain, the Commerce Department said. Auto production contributed 1.16 percentage points to GDP growth, reflecting pent-up demand that has since waned. Excluding autos, GDP grew at only a 0.7 percent rate. "Given that domestic growth is being generated by the autos sector, as we go into the second quarter, a pretty soft outcome...

Thank you, SCOTUS. This Obamacare ruling fires up the troops as America’s eyes are opened! Thank God. This proves to be such an unsettling time in America as we undergo the fundamental transformation that Barack Obama promised he would do to us if elected. Obamacare was dealt in deception and confusion by flooding the public with an overwhelming amount of conflicting “rationale” via thousands of pages of unread legislative detail, which is the radical left’s M.O. Obama promised the American people this wasn’t a tax and that he’d never raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000. We now see...

The Seattle Times editorial board argues that the Justice Department should hand over documents regarding the "Fast and Furious" gun-sale program, or else the House of Representatives should declare Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. EXECUTIVE privilege is a principle dangerous to democracy, whether invoked by a Republican or Democratic president. The Obama administration has invoked it and now is threatened with retaliation: House Republicans say unless the administration hands over subpoenaed documents, they will vote Thursday to declare Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. If that is what it takes, they should do it. It...
