Scientists in the US are trying to map the twisting "tubes" so they can be used to cut the cost of space travel. Each one acts like a gravitational version of the Gulf Stream, created from the complex interplay of forces between planets and moons. Depicted by computer graphics, the pathways can look like strands of spaghetti that wrap around planetary bodies and snake between them. The pathways connect sites called Lagrangian points where gravitational forces balance out. Professor Shane Ross, from Virginia Tech university, said: "The idea is there are low energy pathways winding between planets and moons that...

On September 10, 2009, doctors, nurses and other medical professionals came to Washington, D.C. from across the country to show their opposition to Obamacare. This rally exploded the government-created myth that there is unanimity amongst health care professionals for Democrat plans to take over health care. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons came to D.C. to present a petition from doctors to lawmakers. The AAPS has been a voice for private physicians since 1943. Their motto is omnia pro aegroto, “all for the patient”. The doctors met with the representatives from their respective states and argued for a platform...

We ask signatories of the statement that helped drive Van Jones from office if they stand by it. Thanks in large part to his association with the 9/11 Truth movement, Van Jones is no longer a member of the Obama White House. Jones resigned last week amid a swirl of controversy -- prodded on largely by Fox News' Glenn Beck -- that included the former "green jobs" advisor's signing of a petition put out by the 9/11 Truth movement urging a further investigation into the World Trade Center attacks. Most controversially, the petition wondered darkly that "unanswered questions ... suggest...

On Thursday, AMD demonstrated graphics chip technology that the company says approaches the arc and clarity seen by the human eye. Eyefinity is a multi-display technology that will be part of future Radeon graphics chips designed to use up to six connected high-definition displays that can achieve "up to 12 times 1080p high-definition resolution, which approaches eye-definition optical clarity," the company said in a statement. The goal is to create virtual environments so detailed that they seem optically real to the human eye. In a single PC, this yields a resolution of 268 megapixels, roughly equivalent to the resolution of...

9/11 should be a time for every American to ponder the events of that fateful and horrific day in 2001. We had just suffered more casualties from a foreign enemy in an act of war than had ever been sustained by America on its own soil in its entire history - including the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the attack on Pearl Harbor. Most Americans were angry and demanded action. Fully 90% supported George Bush as he laid out his plans to respond to the attack. And that support was still above 70% when President Bush ordered the...

An Irish aid worker who was kidnapped in Sudan two months ago has contacted her family by telephone, raising hopes for her release. Sharon Commins, 32, from Dublin, was kidnapped in the North Darfur town of Kutum along with a Ugandan colleague, Hilda Kawuki, on July 3, by an armed gang of men who entered the compound of the Irish aid agency GOAL. "She spoke to her family on Thursday. It was her first opportunity to speak to her family," a Foreign Ministry spokesman said. "The family have asked that we respect their privacy."

12/07/1941 (PHOTO) 09/11/2001 (PHOTO) On this day of remembrance, as we pray for those who died and the families and friends they left behind, we must never forget that our enemies are real and still out there waiting for the next opportunity to attack. Although the events of 9/11/2001 and 12/07/1941 are sixty years apart, they share much in common........And both produced a stunning reaction of, how could this happen? Ultimately each event led to a declaration of war. In today's world of terrorism and evil there are no rules of engagement for our enemy. When the people you battle...

New Federal Communications Commission chief Julius Genachowski says he wants to promote diversity in media ownership, but his recent decision to hire Mark Lloyd, a civil-rights attorney critical of corporate-owned media, to help with that effort has riled some talk-radio hosts who fear the agency is planning to go after them. The criticism comes as another Obama administration appointee, environmental jobs adviser Van Jones, resigned over the weekend following an outcry over things he said before joining the government. Mr. Lloyd was named in July to the new FCC post of chief diversity officer as part of what agency Chairman...

THE HAGUE, Netherlands – The top commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan said Friday he sees no signs of a major al-Qaida presence in the country, but says the terror group still maintains close links to insurgents. Gen. Stanley McChrystal spoke on the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States by al-Qaida that prompted the 2001 U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan. The invasion quickly toppled the Taliban regime that had sheltered al-Qaida leaders who plotted the 9/11 attacks, but has since bogged down amid a deadly insurgency. "I do not see indications of a...

ABC News has learned that First Lady Michelle Obama is heading to Copenhagen, Denmark, next month to help seal the deal with the International Olympic Committee for Chicago’s 2016 Olympic bid. From October 1 through October 9, the 121st IOC Session & XIII Olympic Congress meets. The King of Spain and the President of Brazil are going as well to try to help bids made by Madrid and Rio de Janeiro, respectively. There has been pressure on the administration to send the president to help close, though sending a world leader to such a thing is not without some risk,...

Like every good American, I am a huge football fan. I was also raised, like all good Americans, to be a Green Bay Packers fan. Therefore, you are all likely to be subject to me talking about the Packers this year. But hey, somebody in the political blogosphere needs to offer commentary on the NFL other than Ed Morrissey. Even if he is more libertarian than he wants to let on, there's only so much I can identify with a man who likes the Vikings. Ugh. That said, here are my somewhat biased NFC predictions. There will be no AFC...

CARSON CITY, Nev. — The lawyer for a woman who is accusing Ben Roethlisberger of rape is prepared to ask a Nevada court to compel the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback to name all the women he has had sex with, court documents show. Reno lawyer Cal Dunlap also said that if Roethlisberger's request to waive court rules and speed up the evidence-gathering process is granted, he also should be given immediate access to the quarterback's phone records, Internet communications, and names of any women who have claimed improper sexual conduct by the two-time Super Bowl winner.

Tomorrow an event of historic proportions will occur in Washington D.C. and around the country. This event is the culmination of the months of outrage, shock, fear, and outright disdain the citizens across this great land are feeling toward reckless government spending, the takeover of corporations, the appointing of extremist, Communist 'czars' to the White House, the proposed government takeover of healthcare that will result in rationing, and the coming massive tax hikes that will be necessary to pay for our trillion-dollar deficit and multi-trillion-dollar national debt.
