The talk show queen told “The Insider” this week that the girl kidnapped 18 years ago is one of the rare interviews that she cares about landing. “I want that interview,” Oprah told Samantha Harris. “Obviously, like everybody else in this business, I have ‘my people’ working on that. Now, this is the truth…I really don’t care about getting interviews first and all that stuff….Really, truly, I don’t play that game. I feel like if somebody wants to talk to me, they will talk to me. If they don’t want to talk to me and they want to talk to...

Budget Shortfall Is Likely to Worsen; Major Field Plunges MEXICO CITY -- Mexico's oil output is falling faster than expected, increasing the chance that the country will lose its status as a major oil exporter in coming years and face a worsening budget shortfall. Output at state-owned oil monopoly Petróleos Mexicanos's offshore field Cantarell, once the world's second-largest oil field, has plunged to 500,000 barrels a day from its peak of 2.1 million in 2005. "I don't recall seeing anything in the industry as dramatic as Cantarell," says Mark Thurber, assistant director for research at the Program on Energy and...

The CBO conducted some additional analysis of the Senate version of the Obamacare Plan and found that the it will add over One Trillion Dollars to the national debt. The expensive part of the program was expanding Medicaid to include anyone earning below 150 percent of the poverty level. In a letter responding to questions from Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., CBO director Douglas Elmendorf said the bill would end up hurting worker wages and employment." CBO projects that firms subject to the penalty but choose not to offer health insurance would pass that cost on to their workers, primarily in...

Brian Findlen of the Modesto Police Department. Lopez was stopped after police received a call at 7:30 p.m. that a man was pointing a gun at the woman’s home in the 100 block of Phoenix Avenue. He...

It was one of those phone calls no parent wants to receive. In fact, it was the beginning of a nightmare for Jean Cohoon. Cohoon's daughter, MeLisa Cleary, 30, a mother of three, was missing. It's a story which, tragically, is repeated all too often in America today. A woman's car is found, her purse and cell phone are left behind, but she is nowhere to be found. During the first three days after MeLisa's disappearance, a frantic search for the young mother took place. Family, friends, neighbors, and good people who simply wanted to help began the search for...

The US Constitution and the entire American way of life hang in the balance. Yet it is clear that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is engaged in running interference for someone very likely to be an unconstitutional fraud, busily dismantling our sovereign nation while his high-dollar Ivy League lawyers play politics with the justice system. For months now, numerous efforts to smoke Barack Hussein Obama out into the open where he can become the “transparent” president he promised to be, have been thwarted by Obama’s Department of Justice. The American people have been categorically denied access to the courts or...

In less than one year, China and India will celebrate six decades of bilateral relations capped by festivities in their respective country. This period, however, has been marked by a border war in 1962 that precipitated a long phase of antagonism and hostility between the two sides. Yet, there were several positive trends in their bilateral relations since the late 1980s that buoy the decline in mutual trust: regular high level political interactions; increasing bilateral trade that may reach $60 billion in 2010; boundary demarcation talks since 2003; and joint military exercises, which included two ‘anti terror’ exercises in 2007...

The reliable measure of stability in many countries is the value of the currency or the price of equities, bread or fuel - but not in Afghanistan: here the key indicator that nearly every Afghan keeps tabs on is the price of a Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle.

I am planning something big, but I need some support from some fellow conservatives. I am looking for the emails of ALL Congressional representatives from every state. Meaning, all 535 Senators and Representatives. I have looked online and have been unable to find a single congregated list.

At least in part due to Glenn Beck's influence, Obama administration aide Yosi Sergant was asked to resign today. Beck attacked Sergant and the NEA on his Fox News talk show, accusing the agency of propaganda efforts similar to those used by Nazi Germany. And now Sergant has been tossed overboard, making him Beck's second victim in his campaign to rid the administration of perceived radicals, socialists, communists, fascists, anarchists and all other manner of nefarious influences. Conservatives are considering this an opportunity to attack the N.E.A. I hate to evoke this name, because it has a tendency (like Hitler's)...

Wanna see what 24.5 million pixels looks like?************************************************That's six Dell 30" displays, each with an individual resolution of 2560 x 1600. The game is World of Warcraft and the man crouched in front of the setup is Carrell Killebrew, his name may sound familiar.Driving all of this is AMD's next-generation GPU, which will be announced later this month. I didn't leave out any letters, there's a single GPU driving all of these panels. The actual resolution being rendered at is 7680 x 3200; WoW got over 80 fps with the details maxed. This is the successor to the RV770. We...

Set aside Joe Wilson’s bad manners — what about the substance of his accusation? Mr. Wilson claims that various Democratic proposals wending their way through Congress will use U.S. taxpayer dollars to further subsidize health care for illegal immigrants. Democrats say this is not true, and the back-and-forth continues like this: Democrats say that there is nothing in pending legislation that explicitly covers illegal aliens. Republicans say, “Aha! But we offered amendments that would have specifically required more robust measures to keep illegals out of the system and you voted them down, leaving the back door open!” And Democrats respond,...

Dear Friends: Some people will be celebrating the birth control pill's 50th birthday next year, but they probably won't be cancer patients and survivors whose health was damaged by the pill. The Sun-Times News Group is kicking off the celebration early with a story by Jeanne Millsap that contains many inaccuracies. Her story is entitled, "The pill's versatility." Millsap quotes obstetrician/gynecologist Dr. Mary Fitzgibbon of Provena St. Joseph Medical Center who encourages teens to take the pill during the most cancer-susceptible time of their lives to treat acne, irregular menstrual periods and menstrual cramps. Irregular menstrual periods are beneficial in...

Can someone explain to me how President Barack Obama's grandiose scheme destined to reduce the quality of the best health care system in the history of the world, force millions of people who choose not to purchase health insurance to purchase it, greatly increase medical costs, our deficits and national debt, ultimately reduce patient choice, and place health care decisions in the hands of heartless bureaucrats is somehow a demonstration of compassion? Why, in the course of his countless speeches on health care, has Obama rarely, if ever, praised American health care, which is the envy of the entire world?...
